Knock! knock! knock!
" Leave me alone!" Ethan's roar echoed in the room.
"It's me. You have to sober up. I have something to discuss to you." Joshua said. He got the key from the maid and is now trying to open the door.
"What the hell, man! Look at yourself!" Joshua shouted upon seing his friend's appearance. His beard and stubbles has grown and his hair, it's everywhere in his face.
" Go, Nana. I will take care of this. Oh wait, put away those bottles." Joahua pointed at the bottles and cans of beers acattered on the floor.
He then went to the windows and open it.
"What the?! Man, what are you doing?" Ethan covers his eyes at the sudden entry of light coming from the windows.
"Letting go of the bad spirit you summoned here!" He sarcastically answered.
"Ethan, man, seriously, you need help... You can't go on like this. And most especially, bro, help yourself! It's been months, for God's sake... The company needs you. I cannot cover your tracks from the board all the time." Joshua has been friends with Ethan since their college days. They've got each other's backs since then.
"I know, man. I tried. I just can't... yet. You think I like this? In here? No, man! It's like I'm in hell here in my head. I just can't forget it. I just can't move on!" Ethan shouted while throwing the pillow away.
Joshua sighed. If only he can help his friend carry all those burdens and whatever is in his heart and head, but he can't. It's his own battle. All he can do is to be here for him as a friend but he has also a company to take care of. He must do something.
After discussing with Ethan the matters in the company, he insisted on getting professional help since he cannot help himself. Ethan finally agreed.
While on his way back to the office he called Edward and asked about a psychologist that could help Ethan.
"How's he holding on, man? I am sorry I couldn't visit him lately I was all caught up by business pressures and family matters. Yvette just delivered our 2nd baby so too many sleepless nights, you know?" He is one of their closest friends but since he's a married man, his priorities changed. But they completely understand.
"But I know a good doctor, actually the best in the country. I will send you her details."
Upon receiving the doctor's information,
he called the clinic of Dr. Aleli Cruz for an appointment but he was told that her schedule was full for the month. Dr. Cruz is well known for her achievements at a very young age. She got her Ph.D. in Psychology at Stanford University at a very young age. She really is a woman of intelligence.
Central University Conference Hall. Hundreds of psychology students were gathered to attend the training for counseling psychology. All are excited for they are going to hear the lecture of the well-known psychologist/psychotherapist, Dr. Aleli Cruz.
She gave the lecture for 1 hour but because many students were very enthusiastic about the topic, the Question and Answer portion lasted for quite a while.
For almost two hours, Joshua waited outside the hall for his chance to talk to Dr. Cruz.
When she finally went out, Joshua immediately called her name.
"Dr. Cruz! Wait!" he called enthusiastically.
Aleli frowned looking at the man who called her. He doesn't look familiar to her. And she's in a hurry to catch up prior commitments so she doesn't stop walking so Joshua has to keep up to talk to her.
"Dr. Cruz, my name is Joshua Miran. I worked for Ethan Villafuerte. I mean, the EVV Realty group. I hope you're aware of that." He explained through Aleli's confused expression.
" Oh, I'm sorry. Could you please get to the point, I have a meeting to attend to in a few minutes." she said impatiently.
"Yeah. Sorry. I would like to set an appointment for my boss, he's not so well lately. I mean..." he said.
" I know what you mean but can you please talk to my secretary about it. I am really in a hurry. Sorry." she said while opening her car door.
"But she said I should talk to you." he said. He tried to book an appointment for a psychotherapy session for Ethan but he failed to secure a spot. Aleli is one of the best in this field so is often full. Good thing he heard about this event today so he waited for her.
"Tell her we already talked." She said dismissing the conversation. "I am sorry I really am in a hurry." she smiled to him.
Joshua left with no words. This doctor is a sure beauty. She's maybe in her lates 20s or early 30s yet she's the best at what she does.
Then she closed the door and drove away. She's on her way to talk to her lawyer about personal matters.
Joshua went back to his office. It's been weeks when his boss refrained from showing up in this building. If he keeps on doing that, this company will be drowned in bankruptcy. So many projects were delayed thus giving the company a bad reputation lately.
The board also is in the uproar of the current situation. If this continues, he may be removed from his office, from his own business whom he formed by himself from the scratch.
This is why as a friend of Ethan, he has to do something to help him. and the way to do so if to seek the help of Dr. Aleli Cruz.
"Hi, atty! I am sorry I am late." Aleli sat down in a secluded area of the cafe where her lawyer, Atty. Ian Velez is waiting.
"Don't worry, Doc, I just arrived a while ago." Lawyers are practically punctual but a few minutes is okay. This is Aleli, his childhood friend anyway.
"Let's grab something to eat first." Aleli said signalling the waiter to come for their orders.
"I gather all the papers for your annulment, Aleli. I will file it tomorrow. But before I do that, I will ask you one last time. Are you sure we have to do this?" the lawyer asked gaugung the reaction from Aleli's face.
"Yes! I am. I have to." she looked down on her coffee, feeling lost in her senses.
" That's all I want to hear. Now finish your food so we can go, I still have a meeting after this." He said.
"Thank you, Ian. I owe you this one." she smiled but it's a sad smile for it didn't reached her eyes.
"Don't worry, things will be better in no time." Ian patted her shoulders and stood up. "Now lets go." He got a blue bill from his wallet and put it on the table and they both left.
She's in the car when her phone rang. She sighed before taking the call.
"Hello?"
