Just the way
Kim Luan is on vacation at TianmTiau Mountain. A place familiar to him, because it’s so close to his home that he often comes for relief. Sometimes, he could just sit there watching the mountain, all day long, making his parents think there was something wrong with his mind.
But he knew that both him and the mountain were special to each other. They have exchanged many secrets - Luan is the one that is most acquainted with the mountain. He knows every routine to the top, the distribution of specific plants, and the will of this wilderness, a kind of will which can create rules of chaos, can show his heart without defensiveness and constraints, in a word, a will of braveness.
It's also true when it comes to the mountain – he was forced to have numerous complaints, originally restrained thoughts, fragile emotional faces from Luan. Apparently, this boy has a kind heart, an obedient “good” temper and a young, hot-blooded, wild inner world just like he should have at this age.
Actually, it has been a long time since Mountain hadn't met Luan. Luan succeeded in going to a good university, which was also the dream school of his parents. He goes to another province for education, and is a post-graduate student now. Mountain thinks that he has a nice experience as he is modest, diligent, and has ambitiously claimed his bright future at the top of the mountain with his acceptance letter.
But this boy is depressed this time. Luan picks a “road” he has never been before. A road along with the stream, scattered with big rocks. He climbs toughly, the bamboos distributed alongside ensure his security.
And he finally reached the road he used to go on and got on the top.
Breeze gently washed his face, brought the sound of birds and the rustling sound of leaves rubbing against each other.
He lies flatly and sings:
“The end of the road
You told me it was a big oak.
Where fertile fields hold
No hungry old
And I reached though
But the road still on
They said that everyone has been told
Plus the requests more
No left gold
Fail to get the info
And the road continuously goes
I shall be left if I don’t move
Happiness and likelihood
And they told me I should
To have a change though”
That's it.
After the song, there is a long time of silence.
Luan watched in the sky above, listening to the heartbeat of his own.
Heartbeat can only be explicit in this place, without hustle and bustle, without evaluation and lectures.
At that moment, he feels like a great person. Not because he succeeded in many things (his fails are quite a few too), not because others appraised him (the blame he gets is also large), simply because he is there, he can listen to his heartbeat, and that's enough.
The mountain will always be there, supporting Luan as long as he wants.
Luan will always lie there above the mountain as long as he is still distressed.
This sincere accompaniment touched the heart of the cloud lingering above.
Poor clouds, they seem to be free at first look, but no one knows the bitterness they have – forced by wind and circulation, they are doomed to come and go. Their outlook changed so frequently due to their changing circumstances, so that no one remembered them. Just converge and disperse, leaving nothing to the world. No one talks to them because they fly so high. The only attention paid by the weather bureau is totally derived from utilities concerns.
So they cry.
Cry so hard that they are about to die. Die from rain falling down. Down to earth give birth to new sprouts and wash the dust out.
As it rains, Luan comes home
And left the mountain alone.
