HAZEL By the time it was nightfall, we were almost near the place we had stopped the previous night. Thaddeus had finally calmed down and was eating his food while murmuring something to both Thea and Sparrow. I had pretty much inhaled all my food the moment I got it so I was just watching everyone eat quietly. I was practically dozing off when a familiar stirring started up in my head. My sleepiness immediately vanished and I sat up, trying to feel my wolf in my head. ‘Hello, did you miss me?’ I sighed in total relief. Finally, after what felt like an endless winter, she was back. It was as if the sun had emerged from behind dark clouds, casting its warm rays upon my weary soul. Her presence, like a gentle breeze, swept away the lingering chill and brought with it a sense of warmth.
