“Alright Mr Draven. Your friend will be fine but for the mean time, I’ll need you to calm down. Provide the details and wait outside” the doctor said and I nodded reluctantly. I did what I was supposed to do and reached out to Wendy to let her know what has happened. “Did you say she vomited blood?” Iris’ mother asked as she took the phone. “Yes Ma’am. I still don’t know the exact cause but I’ll let you know when the doctor is out” I told her. A few minutes later, the doctor came out. “Is she alright?” I asked. “Yes, she is. There’s no need to worry. She’s conscious and stable now” he said. “Mr Draven, are you aware she has Ulcer?” He asked. “Uhh…no. Was that ulcer? With the blood?” “Yes. It’s pretty normal if a severe ulcer of her level is not properly managed. And it seems your friend has not been eating well. I’ve advised her to take in more fruit and stop taking acidic foods. And also eat healthy and on time ” I said. “Okay. I’ll make sure of that, thanks” I said. “Oh, and please she needs eat now so see the nurse and get her the food on the list” He added. “Okay, can I see her now?” I asked and he replied. “Yes” I hurriedly entered the door that led to the inner room. I knocked and a soft voice responded. “Come in” I opened the door slowly and there she was. Pale faced yet covered by the beautiful smile. My heart skipped a beat as my eyes met hers. “How are you feeling?” I asked not wanting to make things awkward. ”Much better. Thank you”” she said and I nodded with a smile. I stood there. Just staring. We stared at each other for a few seconds before I head her speak. “Why are you standing there, come sit” she said. “uhh…I need to go get you food so….let me take care of that first” I said and she nodded with that breathtaking smile “alright”
