“Where the hell have you been” Wendy, the one person I was most closer to in the group asked as she pounded my chest in fury. “Let’s just say, I went to hell…..to secure the place you’d go after….you kill” I said coughing in a playful manner.
She punched me and hugged me once again. “I missed you” she said. “I missed you too” I hugged her back. A few seconds later, we pulled back. I went on ahead to greet everyone in the group as they made “the ghost” fun of me.
”You know sometimes, realky think you’re a ghost” Alexa said with a smile as she pulled back from the hug.
”Maybe I’m a ghost who likes to play with people instead of scaring them” I said and we all laughed. I went on the catch up with the rest as they all made similar remarks.
[Now before you think of anything…..how about I keep you on suspense. Hehe]
After catching up with everyone I sat down as we listened to each other’s stories and moments, especially during the holidays. The evening was an interesting one and with the next day being a holiday, we stretched it far into the night.. We ate, drank and shared each other’s happiness and sadness. Perhaps, that was what made me get along with these people because they were there, just when you needed them. And now, they weren’t just people. They were my people, and that was what made them special. When the hangout ended, someone I hadn’t noticed earlier walked beside Wendy and I as we all made our way to the car park. “Oh, I forgot to introduce my cousin to you” Wendy said as he she held on her arms. “This is Iris” she said. “Iris, this is Larry. He’s single and playing hard to get”.
“Hello” I said casually before giving Wendy the ‘was that part necessary look’ but she pretended not to have seen it. Just then I realized something. The girl beside me looked familiar.
