24th September, 2013Manager-less Shyton United were away to Everton in the league cup third round. Not a massive trip to make but a massive hurdle if Shyton United were to make it to the fourth round of the league cup for the very first time. Everton had been going great as of late, as they continuously strove to get out of Liverpool’s shadow and no longer be known as a poor man’s Tranmere.
On the team bus on the way to Goodison Park I caught a few words with Maury.
MAURY: I know some clubs and managers don’t really give much thought to the league cup, and would rather not be in it; but I think Shyton need to go for these competitions as they will help establish Shyton United as a major force.
STANLEY: Sacking Juan Lopez right before this pivotal tie was not the best idea then.
