Daisy Doodles and her dazzling world

Hello! I am Daisy Doodles! I was born with special abilities! My mommy and daddy say I am like a little super hero. I have supersonic hearing and taste buds. I can't fly even though I try and I am able to pick out the smallest detail. I am really good with puzzles and games too! Mommy and daddy haven't been able to beat me in a game yet "hehe' Everyday is a new challenge but with the help of my parents I know I can do it! The doctors say my superpower is called "Autism" and that means I feel and see things differently than anyone else. I don't quite understand what that means but daddy just tells me I am special and only superheros can do what I do. Are you a Superhero too? AWESOME SAUCE! All Superheroes are different and do different things. One of my special abilities is that I have supersonic hearing! Yes you heard right, my hearing is really sensitive. Sometimes I can hear electricity flowing through light bulbs or even the smallest little buzzing noise that comes from a television. Nothing gets past me! "hehe" So with me being able to hear the smallest little noise could you imagine how loud noises feel to me? "OW! TOO LOUD!" Sometimes when we go out and see friends or go to the supermarket, my mommy will put my magical headphones on where the loud noises won't hurt my ears. Sometimes too many noises at once scares me and makes me feel really dizzy! So my mommy and daddy let everyone know that my brain is super fast and a lot of noises makes me unwell and will take me somewhere more quite. "Phew! That was a lot to take in! " My eyes are supersonic as well! Bright lights and certain colors hurt my eyes and some make me REALLY happy and I want to fly! (clap, clap, flap, flap) My skin is super sensitive and the smallest touch can hurt. "OUCH!" So I don't like a lot of hugs or affection sometimes. My mommy and daddy understand and love me and are very patient with me. Sometimes I love hugs from my friends and family and sometimes I don't. The days when I don't are usually when there is too much going on and too many people are around. Those days I feel defeated and I stay in my fort until the time is right and I feel safe enough to come out and play again. "CHARGE! I love music too! Music makes me happy and my ULTIMATE superpower is my tornado spin! When I hear music I spin and spin and the best part is I don't get dizzy! (spin, spin, spin) I will clap my hands to the beat and the vibration from the music makes my skin all tingly! I feel so happy I can fly! (jump, clap, flap) My mommy and daddy keep me on schedule because I have to be organized. If I don't feel organized and prepared I get a lot of anxiety. Do you know what anxiety is? Daddy says it's being afraid of something before it happens. So my parents make sure everything is neat and prepared for me so I don't get scared. Being prepared and organized is best. "YAY!" OH! I go to school too! I love school! I learn so much but sometimes I get stuck on patterns and colors and I get a little upset when I have to clean up. The puzzle with lots of colors and patterns makes my brain feel sparkly, and I feel happy. But once the activity is over I feel sad. "AWE!" But my teacher always finds something more interesting for me to learn and see. I get to squish, spin and see so many different things. I can't forget the fun music I hear learning my ABCs "Clap, flap, clap, spin, spin) "SO FUN!" Then it's lunch time, I am so hungry! But my taste buds and nose are supersonic and some tastes and smells are too strong and I won't eat anything if my food is touching or there's too much. If there is too much food on my plate I feel overwhelmed and don't know what to eat first and all the smells make my tummy hurt, so small amounts please! After lunch at school we head to the playground for recess! This is the place where I can practice my superhero powers and finally learn to fly! I avoid the slide and heights because the sensation of falling scares me. The swings are best! I feel safe on the swings and I feel more in control. Now I can finally practice flying "swing, swing swing" After recess it's time to go home. I am so excited to see Mommy and daddy! "clap, clap,clap" On the ride home I get to see all the shiny lights and I love the spinning of tires on other cars. Mommy and daddy play my favorite music and I sing a long. "LA, LA LA!' We made it home safely and I learned so much from the day and had so much fun! My mommy and daddy love me so much and are always there to help me and keep me safe. I am still growing and still learning how to handle my superpowers. I know with the help of my parents and teachers I can overcome anything in this world and YOU CAN TOO! Each person is born differently and we each have different gifts, talents and special abilities. We can all learn from each other and grow to make this world as special as us.
