Alec and Jasper spent the New Year apart.
Everyone came to Jasper's house to celebrate the beginning of a new year because they canceled Christmas at his house. Both Lightwoods and Salvatores were back from their trip to Colorado. Liz was expecting them to be there for half a month, but they felt lonely without the kids on holiday and thus planned to come back for New Year.
Their other friends were certainly not happy about ending the trip soon.
Liz and John along with Darcy joined them too for the small party that Jasper hosted for his friends and family, but Alec decided to visit Colton in London for a week and to celebrate the New Year with him. He told them that Colton was alone for Christmas, and he didn't want him to be alone on New Year too.
