The Rejection That He Regrets

Chapter Nine

Ava's P.O.V

After lunch, I went hunting for my friends, telling my mates to have someone call for me when they were ready to meet with my brothers and dad. I walked to the tearoom because I knew that's where all the girls were. As I walked in, the questions started pouring out. "Ava, is it true? Are you really getting multiple mates?" Mell asked me and I just nodded. "I wish I was lucky to get multiple mates," May commented. I couldn't help but laugh a little while I replied, "You and I both know your mate, and he will not be sharing you."

"How are you feeling this morning, Sweetie?" Mom asked. "I promise I'm okay, mom. I admit it is a lot to take in, in such a short time. But I trust my wolf, and she says all of this is necessary for my future to be complete," I said honestly. We hugged and enjoyed tea before Kyle popped his head in and called for me. We held hands as we walked to my dad's office. Xaver was waiting for us at the top of the stairs. The three of us walked down the hall to the office door. I knocked and heard my dad say 'come in' from the other side. I pushed the door open and walked over to the sofa, sitting down next to my brother.

Arthur was the first to speak up, "So a recap of the call with alpha Mason. Theo and dad both made the choice to stop doing business and to end all pack dealings with the Mountain Water pack. His pack. We all talked to our allies and business partners, everyone will be pulling funds and treaties. Dad issued a no-funding notice against their pack." I looked between Theo and dad, then turned to Xaver and Kyle, and said, "Do you have any ties to Mountain Water?" They both shook their head's no. The men continued to talk among themselves while I looked through paperwork. I hopped on my dad's computer and started typing up the few contracts that he needed for the alpha meetings.

I didn't know Kyle had walked up behind me until I heard him ask, "So, you're not only beautiful, sweet, and sexy. You're also smart too. You know how to type up contracts and legal stuff?" I just shook my head as I finished the last contract. "Yes, my dad has had me typing up contracts since I was nine. I've attended most meetings and have even talked through deals with companies and other packs. That is what a pack lawyer/advisor does. I planned to attend law school next year," I replied. I printed the contracts, stapled them and put them in their own folders. Taking one contract and handing it to my father. He looked it over and told me to make a duplicate. I walked over and printed to copy and stapled it, handed both to my father and called my mates over.

"Ava, please explain these contracts to everyone," dad said. I shook my head and replied, "These contracts are the start of a strong pack alliance and business partner, projects, percentage of deals. All money will go into a fund under my name. That money will be the safety net that we can fall back on in case of war or upgrades. The Blood Heart Pack is the biggest pack in the country, but we could bind all the packs as allies and sister packs. It would make our packs stronger and richer. The only thing that would end all of that would be if I am unwanted, rejected, replaced, died, or betrayed. The contracts will be revised every six months. After five years, we will only revise it once a year." I looked up to make sure everyone was following along, then continued, "For every pup that I carry and birth, we will have another contract and fund created. I want to make sure my/our children have a decent future."

Kyle and Xaver both took a contract and signed it without even taking a second look. They handed them to my dad. When we finished with the meeting, my dad dismissed everyone but asked me and Theo to stay behind. "Ava, sweetie. What is with the contract?" my dad asked. I just replied simply, "This is just a safety net. I need to know whether the people I plan to give myself to fully are willing to give up everything for me. I do not want another 'incident' like what happened with the first mate. I have to protect myself, my family, and my home-pack." They both seemed pleased with my response. "Ava, if they ever hurt you I will rage war with them." Theo said sweetly. I hugged my brother and dad, then left to find my mates.

It didn't take long to find them, they had made themselves at home in my room. Kyle was lying across my bed and Xaver was sprawled across the small couch in front of my window. I stood there taking in the view of my sexy mates laying across my furniture. I walked to my closet and grabbed a box from the top shelf, walked to the bathroom and sat it on the counter. I took a deep breath and went to have an omega to send dinner up. I wanted to spend the night locked in my room with my mates. Tonight was going to be the most amazing night. Tonight I was going to willingly give my mates full access to my body.
