New Rogue

Chapter Seven

Callum wraps his arms around me as a slower song starts, we sway back and forth. He leans forward as though he is going to kiss me. Before he can touch me though I am abruptly pulled away. A head of dark tousled hair moves in front of me before a punch lands to Callum’s face.

“What the f**k?!” I shout and step toward Regan.

Regan puts his arm out to stop me passing him. I realise Ithan and Luke are beside me too now. Juke walks in with his cheerleader girlfriend under his arm. He looks up and sees me. “Sunshine!” His humour dies off as he takes in the scene before him.

Callum scrambles off the floor and shoves at Regan. “What was that for Regan?”

“You do not touch new rogue.” Regan tells him sternly. “You know the rules.”

“I haven’t touched any of you,” Callum says with disbelief.

Regan glances at me before looking back at Callum. Callum’s eyes grow wide with surprise. “How? She is new.”

“She’s my cousin,” Luke is quick to offer an explanation. “She is off limits to you.”

“Shit.” Callum runs a hand through his hair. He sighs with defeat, “I didn’t know.”

“Now you do,” Regan says with venom and inches forward a step.

“Well I don’t f*****g know. What are you all talking about?” I ask them.

Regan turns to me and grasps my arm before dragging me from the room. We reach the kitchen and I plant my feet. “What the f**k are you doing?”

“Leaving,” Regan says flatly.

I wave at him, “bye then.” I begin to turn around. Regan grabs my arm and pulls me back to him before bending down and throwing me over his shoulder. I squeal in surprise at being picked up and carried.

“Put me down Regan.”

He ignores me and carries me through the house, past a lot of people. He carries me down the long driveway and finally puts me on my feet by a motorbike. He picks up a helmet before putting it on my head and fastening it.

“Get on,” he gestures to the bike behind me.

I cross my arms over my chest and drop my hip. He must be joking.

“Get on.” He says again before fastening his own helmet.

I hear footsteps and glance toward the others approaching. “I will get on Luke’s bike.”

“Get. On.” Regan says firmly and steps into my personal space.

The others climb on their bikes and Regan waves at them. They all start their engines and pull away. I glare at Luke as he drives off.

Regan climbs onto the bike and gestures for me to get on. But he has sat near the back, meaning there is little room for me.

“Well you need to move forward then,” i gestures at him but he shakes his head.

He takes my hand and pulls me closer before grasping my hips. “Sit in front.”

I swallow my nerves before lifting my leg and climbing on in front of Regan. Once I am on the bike he slides back forward, pressing us very close together. He places my hands on the handle bars and turns the bike on before holding on too.

We pull away from the house slowly and glide down the road. The thrill of being pressed against Regan like this adds to the thrill of the bike. We get so far down the road before Regan revs the engine and pulls the handles up. The bike tilts back onto one wheel and I squeal with excitement.

Regan touches the bike back down and I laugh at my reaction. I lean back against Regan as he does it again. A huge grin covers my face at the rush of the action and I find myself really enjoying this. We are soon pulling up at the house and the others are all outside, lounging by their bikes. I notice for the first time that Juke has bought his girlfriend back with him.

Regan parks the bike and climbs off before I follow suit. I slide the helmet off and pass it to him.

“You okay?” Luke asks me with caution and I nod unable to contain my smile.

Juke scoffs out a laugh, “he did wheelies didn’t he?”

I stick my tongue out at Juke before walking to the house.

“Shed,” Regan commands and points. The boys all turn and begin walking that way. “You too Radleigh.”

I roll my eyes at his bossy ass but follow the boys nonetheless. I want to know what that fuss was all about at the party.
