he offered out his free hand for her father to shake. The look on her father's face was nothing less than shocked. he took Joshua's hand and shook it. "Excuse me everyone while I take a moment with my daughter" he ushered his daughter and apparently his son-in-law into his office. "Reign...um....please explain" Reign nervously looked at her father "Daddy, I know what you're thinking..." "I highly doubt that," "Dad, no I didn't cheat I would never do the same thing he did to me. no, I didn't marry Joshua for just his money its, well ...complicated" "Reign....Complicated!!! you got married without telling your fa..." her father started a violent coughing fit "Dad!!! Josh please look in the fridge under his desk and see if there's any water." Joshua quickly found a bottle of water as Reign made her father sit on the couch. "Mr. Wilcox, let me explain this is all my fault. I made a deal with your daughter, I would help her with her work and image and she help me get my family off my back but,...sir, I actually fell for her. I fell hard for her. she's beautiful, smart, and she does something no one else has ever been able to do every day she makes me laugh like there's no tomorrow, and I know that you mean everything to her and I am fully aware that this is too late, and completely after the fact, but it would be my honor if you would allow me to marry your daughter?" Reign felt the love from his speech but she was nervous her father was still upset with her. He looked Josua straight in the eyes. "what's her favorite color?" Josh was taken aback for a moment. A bit confused, but he didn't fight it. "pink...after her mother. she used to actually hate the color but, working on her project it became her favorite color." her father looked at Rain "Are you happy?" She couldn't help the stupid grin on her face "yes!! he makes me so happy and he took the time to know everything about me..." Her father smiled "I can tell. you have my blessing, just give my daughter the wedding she deserves this time. Make her happy Joshua" He nodded "yes sir I intend to, every day" Reign gently kissed his cheek. "Love please give me a minute with my father, go look around and be careful of my sister" he chuckled "yes dear, I'm sure some people would like to talk business" Joshua left the room leaving Reign and her father alone. "Ok daddy, cut the crap. How long have you been sick?" He coughed as he looked at his daughter. "I never could keep anything from you" Reign rested her hand on his shoulder. "It's my liver...they found some spots and...well it's not looking good. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." She could feel tears well up in her eyes. "no...i...can fix this...I...I can run test, make medicine. something...please tell me I can do something" She felt the tears run down her cheeks as she softly began to sob. "I can't lose you too" he sighed softly and pulled her in for a hug. "Don't worry about that now. I'm going to be there for you. your sister too if she'll let me. Just please don't worry, this will be our little secret for a bit. ok?" She shook her head. "Ok, but you'll let me have a look at you. I have to atleast try" she carefully wiped her face. "deal. Now I'm going to go find Joshua and rescue him from your sister, you clean your face in the bathroom down the hall and then Give him a your huh?" She hugged her father tight. the thought of losing him was making her sick to her stomach. "Yes sir" Her father went to rejoin his party and Reign did as she was told. She went down the hall to one of the smaller wash rooms. She began fixing her makeup when she heard heavy footsteps coming down the hallway towards her. "Josh...is that you?..." she got no answer. "...Daddy?" she heard low chuckle that made her skin go cold. "not exactly but you can call me daddy" Darius pushed the door open causing Reign to step back. "What the hell are you doing here?" he stepped inside the bathroom with her closing the door behind him. "isn't it obvious...im here for you Reign" she could hear her heart beating in her chest. he had changed, there was something dark and evil in his voice. Reign could smell the vodka all over him. "Darius you should go back to your wife " "shut up!" he gripped her arm pulling Reign closer to him filling the empty space that had been between them "You should be mine Reign...but no, you to go and be a w***e and run to someone else" his grip was so tight that she winced "Darius please just let me go" she couldn't move he had such a tight grip on her. "Didn't I say shut up Reign" he buried his face in her neck roughly inhaling her scent. "You still smell the same" Reign tried squirming out of his grip but he was much stronger. He ran his tongue up her neck as he gripped one of her thighs with his hands. Reign was terrified at this point, Darius had never acted this way towards her but the only thing she think about was Joshua, she desperately wanted her husband. Darius continued his assault on Reigns body as he kept her in place with his other hand. Reign could feel tears starting to escape her eyes "Darius please..." His large hand came across her face , and that was enough to turn her fear into anger and adrenaline. "All you had to do was marry me and none of this wo..." before he could finish his sentence Reign kneed him in his d**k and quickly ran from the bathroom. she ran straight to the one place she had always felt safe. Meanwhile Joshua was stuck in a tedious conversation but he couldn't help but feel something was wrong, he noticed Reigns father come back to the party but no Reign, maybe she just needed to collect herself. After awhile he began to get worried and deiced to go in search of her. He asked her father and he said there's one place that she always went during parties. As Josh followed her fathers direction he ended up on the third floor of the house, it looked like it had been converted into a studio. He heard crying, as he searched the room he finally found her she was in the corner her dress was dishelved and she looked scared. it was clear someone had hurt her and it made his heart break. "Angel...?" she shook her head as she tried to fix herself "I...im sorry, …I'll fix myself and we can go back to the party" "Hey,No! sit down and tell me what happened" he went to touch her but she flinched away something she had never done. "Reign..." Did your ex hurt you" Reign froze as she started shaking, he had never seen her scared before, Her reaction gave him the answer he needed. Joshua was going to kill him, "I'll be back" Reign grabbed him preventing him from moving "Ba..." "Please...please don't leave me alone" the way she clung to him only made him angrier Reign was fiercely independent and practically fearless, so he must have hurt her bad "I promise, I wont leave you. Look, I'm going to get you out of here and take you home ok?"
