The Meeting
“IS THIS THE place for the Fort Sumter folks?” the first guest asked. Junius Morel forced a smile and decided not to object to the characterization of the meeting, “Yes, please join us.” The town’s temporary guests began to stream into the largest classroom in the school for an orientation of sorts about the town of Weeksville. The final guests to arrive included the Brown brothers, Ezra and Moses, and the recent college graduate, Edward Heath. Junius hoped to convince at least a few of the guests to remain in Weeksville, and given his current need for a teacher at the school, he hoped Edward Heath, in particular, would stay.
