Rules to Live By
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! Principal Morel kept his hand on the drawstring for the school bell, as he gave the children time to reenter the building after recess. Venture crawled down from the top of the fence, which separated the back of the schoolyard from the neighboring property. Most of the other children finished playing games, sharing final laughs, and headed inside. A few stragglers needed more encouragement—Clang! Clang! Everyone started heading upstairs for reading classes.
Principal Morel addressed the students, “Hold on, children. We’re doing something different today. We are switching the order of the subjects. Today, we will cover math before reading, so let’s separate into our math levels. The advanced group, go to Room 1, the middle group to Room 4,
