Thanksgiving
THE PREPARATION FORThanksgiving dinner took days and represented a number of firsts: the first time Georgia and Vent would host their families since their marriage in October, as well as the first time either family celebrated Thanksgiving. The Brown brothers would also be present for their very first Thanksgiving feast. Georgia reviewed the instructions with Vent for the fifth time. “Vent, I want you to greet everyone when they come in and ask them to take a seat at the table. Now this here is your house, so you gonna sit at the head, you understand?”
“No need to stand by the door and greet people. This family, let them come in and find their own seat. Why you makin’ such a fuss?”
“Vent, I done told you what to do five times, why you giving me such trouble…”
