Kate dropped the pregnancy test onto the floor. The two pink lines stared back at her.
She was pregnant!
A choked sob that tore from her throat. She clamped a hand over her mouth, shaking her head violently.
No! This can't be happening.
She didn't want to be pregnant again. She couldn't let this baby suffer the same fate as Jacob.
With trembling fingers, she snatched the test from the floor and threw it into the trash.
Her mind was already made up.
She would have an abortion.

“Babe, I'm heading off to work,” Dean said, adjusting his tie in the mirror.
“Okay,” Kate called from the bathroom.
Dean grabbed his keys and was about to leave when Kate's phone vibrated on the vanity.
