THE THREE GENERAL

The Alpha entered the hall regally. All six of them corrected their posture and kowtowed to the leader of the pack. This is the way they greet the Alpha. The Alpha smiled, and with a husky voice, he said "So you have all arrived. Please take a seat." The Alpha sat down first before all of them dared to sit down. The Alpha's eyes sharply locked onto Janus Marasigan as he observed the young general. He had long heard about this young warrior, but seeing his appearance, he felt a bit odd. This kid didn't look any different from most teenagers in the streets, so how could he have so much accomplishment? The Alpha didn't show his curiosity instead, started to talk as he wanted his order to be released immediately. "I called you all here, Because I received a message from three Alphas. It' was from Zamboanga City Alpha Kallel, Alpha Lendon of Davao city, and Alpha Gilbert from Surigao City. As per message, there were killings and corruptions happening in their city. They need our help to revalidate the incident, at the same time they want to prove that the city of Sur has nothing to do with it. Above all, our major concern is vampires, who started to attack again three days ago in carmen village. Our young warriors and the rest will stay here to help me. Now, I wanted to know your thoughts first about it." The eunuch came forward and presented the map. They have marked the positions of the enemies and the troops they had in the nearby city miles. The number was not great, but if they needed reinforcement, it would take some time before the Alpha could send any more warriors. "How much time do we have?" Rick Suarez asked first. "It's better to resolve this problem quickly before they reach the other towns." Jake Mendrez's face scrunched a bit. He had wanted to propose saving the humans living there and burning the whole place down. The position of the village was quite remote, so it would be easy to clean the area and kill any vampires that may appear. The Alpha wanted them to resolve it quickly, so he just waited a while to propose the idea after another suggestion. "How many vampires have invaded there?" This time, Janus Marasigan asked. The eunuch stepped forward. "According to our report, there are forfy-eght vampires: 5 women and rest was young male teens." "So now that they are trying to reproduce, we must prepare for their coming." Julius asked with confusion. "How do you know it?" "My grandfather made a camp in the east 28 years ago. He stayed there to monitor the area with five warriors." Janus Marasigan explained. "And what did they find out?" Julius wanted to know "The vampires they encountered were old; they were afraid of us, as if they didn't know how to fight. All they know is to kill humans with no weapons. And because we know something about fighting, we are now the first they will target, before the humans." Janus Marasigan explained it clearly as to what he thought. "As I observe, those young vampires are the new generation. After my grandfather killed their leader 28 years ago. It's a sign." Janus Marasigan added "You mean, they're observing us?" Jake Mendrez clarified. "Yes," "But how? if they don't know about our plans?" Rick Suarez asked "They already know..." Janus Marasigan said Then he looks at the young boy, who is wiping the floor as if he didn't hear anything. He is the regular cleaner in the city hall, which is the official house of the pack. The young boy is the one who served her drinks during the party as Alice. Buy right now as Janus Marasigan, knew that he had heard all of it. "If they study our actions here, Maybe they will also think of a way to get rid of us." Jake Mendrez said The eunuch was stunned. Janus Marasigan's suggestions were actually the same as those that Alpha thought of, It's just that the official had some backing up. The strategist thus chose a different method, which the general of the pack had to accept. Rick Suarez closed his eyes. The Alpha was not too surprised by this development. He had already anticipated that Rick Suarez would have some news beforehand since the Suarez family was indeed strong. What he did not expect was how quickly Janus Marasigan proposed his ideas, even before he knew the entire situation there. Then the Alpha said: "Then we have another problem." Another eunuch brought them another map. This was the map of the whole kingdom, situated on an island. The map shows some areas that were still "free" from the vampires, except for the rouges. There were a lot of smaller villages around the few bigger cities of the kingdom that, on some occasions, the big cities would try to take down. The map that was presented to them had three cities, marked by Alpha Magnus. "There are three cities in the kingdom. I wanted to help them with a small number of soldiers. One hundred soldiers and their generals are already waiting for orders on the border. Your mission is to help the Alpha in these cities in less than two months." Janus Marasigan stared at the map and made a few calculations in her mind. Even with a horse, she could only reach the border in five days, if she sprinted all the way without sleeping. Then she would need to organize the soldiers and march towards the enemies. All in all, it would require around one and a half months at the very least. Rick Suarez also stared at the map for a moment. The task was not impossible, but two months were extremely arduous. If they do not encounter any trouble, they should be able to finish it in time. However, if there were a lot of problems along the way, it would take much longer. Jake Mendrez looked at the map and tried to remember all of it perfectly. He wanted to show them all that he was the most brilliant general and was exceedingly skilled compared to the rest. "Now, among these three cities, which one will you take down?" the Alpha asked the three generals. After a while, the three old men patiently waited on the back. For a city to strive, it would require strong warriors. It was only logical that the Alpha wanted to test them, but Bagalto Marasigan knew that this Alpha would undoubtedly make their task even harder. Janus Marasigan's eyes swept across the three cities, and thoughts of some strategies appeared within her mind. Soon, she smiled slightly. She had found a feasible strategy that would allow her to conquer the kingdom swiftly, but there was a big risk there. After a while, the Alpha asked them again, "Who wants to choose first?" The young generals looked at each other. Seeing that the two of them were still probing, Janus Marasigan raised her hand. "Which one, Janus?" The Alpha asks. "I choose Surigao City," Janus Marasigan confidently answered. Rick Suarez's brows creased at Janus Marasigan's choice, but he didn't really mind it. He let Jake Mendrez choose before he picked the last one the other two didn't take. The Alpha only bid them good luck before retreating to the back, leaving the three of them in the hall. His last message was: "The incident happened three days ago, then you will start tomorrow." Janus Marasigan glanced at his grandfather, and when the eyes of the two met, Janus bowed his head as a sign of his farewell. Bagalto Marasigan showed courage and fortitude through his look at Janus. After this, Janus immediately turned his back, along with the other generals. Jake Mendrez, carried by his courage, hurriedly went outside after bidding farewell to Janus Marasigan and Rick Suarez. The two of them also started to walk outside, but their pace was rather calm and unhurried. "Are you sure you can finish this task with the soldiers?" Rick Suarez started. Janus Marasigan's brows rose up, "It would be better if there were only a few soldiers; if there were more, we might be able to hold out longer." "True enough." Rick Suarez agreed. Mendrez family's soldiers was in the northeast. The closest one was the Boras family since they were situated in the northwest; These two groups will be going to Davao in which rouges, made robbery and killed some innocent shifters including humans; however, it would still take them two weeks to arrive in Davao City. Once again, Rick Suarez asked Janus Marasigan. "Will you go today or tomorrow?" "Today," Janus Marasigan answered. While they were talking, they had reached the palace gate, and she mounted up his horses that he had prepared earlier. "So you too have readied yourself." Jake Suarez also mounted his horse. "Want to go together? Our destination is the same." he added The three of them needed to go to one part of the border to follow the lead of their soldiers, so it was not wrong to say that their first destination was the same. They would only part ways when they were about to go to the chosen city. Janus Marasigan's brows rose. Why would this shifter start talking to him all of a sudden? He could not recall having had any interaction with him before. However, Janus Marasigan never paid attention to it. But before he left, The young boy cleaner of the pack house appeared in front of him and said, "Good luck". Then handed over a wrapped meal made of flour. "I bought it at a bakery for you." The young boy said, but honestly, Alice Marasigan, as Janus today, was thinking of him as something weird. Janus doesn't eat a lot of food from human food or shifters; he only vomits when he eats too much. "Thank you," Janus said. Then the boy smiled and left her. The same with him; Janus Marasigan also ignored Rick Suarez. but both of their speeds were about the same, which made them stay side by side. The two generals immediately set out on their journey with horses, swords, and baggage. Behind them followed a number of shifters to support them during the attack. Janus Marasigan started to head down a different path when Rick Suarez suddenly spoke again. "Do you want to bet with me?" Janus Marasigan stared at Rick Suarez in confusion. What was this general saying? Janus was the one he chose to fight, even though he is small and young. However, if Janus will use the blade in her hand, this old shifter won't take a few seconds to get another breath. Also, If Jake Mendrez heard his request, he would surely have another urge to strangle him. "Sure, that will happen if I make it back home alive." Janus replied. "We are just going to our destination, but you are too far ahead to think. Are you hiding something?" Rick Suarez asked with confusion; he is not sure, but he felt something wrong about Janus Marasigan today. "Just make sure you and your soldiers return alive" Janus's much-concerned response. He wanted to stop talking so he could think of some good ideas ahead of time. "Alright, I'll bet you this time, just a simple one; let's see who can return home first." Janus Marasigan stared back at him and said, "What if Jake Mendrez comes first?" "He won't. He doesn't have the capability." Rick Suarez spoke confidently. Janus Marasigan's first impression of this general is so arrogant. It was one thing that he was capable of, but another thing is to shamelessly look down on someone. However, from the way he talked, Janus noticed something. "And you think I can?" "Maybe." Rick Suarez's lips curled up, forming a devilish smile. Along with his extremely handsome face, his appearance would surely shoot down countless female shifters. Unfortunately, Janus Marasigan was not one to be captivated by a mere handsome face that easily. "So what is the reward and punishment?" Janus Marasigan chose to concede and listen to what this general shifter wanted to propose. If it's interesting enough, then why not try? "If I win, treat me for a drink." This general shifter way of thinking was truly out of the ordinary. Janus Marasigan felt like she had to raise her hand in defeat. She thought Rick Suarez would propose something serious, but it felt like this bet was just a game that wouldn't really hurt either of them, if either one of them lost. "I'm underage." "I forgot, you're just a teen shifter in this generation." Rick Suarez ignored the deathly stare Janus Marasigan had given him as he thought of another way: "Then just a meal for you." "Sure," Janus answered right away. "Be prepared for a jar of coins, then." "Oh, you're sure that you can win? It's not that easy, little warrior." Rick Suarez grinned and stared at Janus Marasigan's small stature. "Besides, with that small body, how can you eat so much?" he added. "Of course I can! I'm still in my growing-up stage." Rick Suarez laughed. Janus Marasigan really has the urge to beat the crap out of Rick. This general's mouth is truly sharp and deathly. If he had a chance to talk to him any longer, he felt that he could lose his inner wolf self-control and start attacking instead. "You're an interesting little warrior. I will be waiting for your performance."
