Wishing for Hope

King Alpha James POV My daughter Mizuki ran into my office.Her tiny frame bounced in. She light brunette hair bounced up and down. "Dada" she squealed as her nanny chased her. "I'm so sorry your highness she got away from me" the nanny said as I picked up my almost two year old. I gave Mizuki a hug and she snuggled into my chest. "Its ok I know this pup is strong willed" I say giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Who's a daddy's girl" I say as she hugs me. My beautiful mate, Queen Luna, Stella walked in. Mizuki looked liked Stella's mini. "Nina you can go we got her for the night. Thank you" my mate says as the nanny bows before leaving. Stella let out a sigh, "That girl loses her all the time" Stella complained and I chuckle. "Dear most of the time she ends up in my office with me. I use to be like that with my nanny's. My parents fired about four of my nanny's before they realized it wasnt them it was me. They would be watching and if they didnt keep their eyes on my for the whole time I could escape within two second" I say as I rock a yawning Mizuki. Mizuki laid her head on my shoulder and I kissed her head. "Let's get her to bed. She has a big day tomorrow with it being her birthday" Stella says and I nod as we walk towards our room. Our master suite was large enough that she had a full corner for her crib and toys and it didn't effect the rest of the room. Our bed was near the window while Mizukis bed was against the far wall. I laid her down in her crib and she grabbed her stuffy. "Night night" she cooed before falling asleep. Stella and I stood there watching her for a few minutes before retiring to bed ourselves. The next morning I got up early and walked down stairs. Normally I didnt wake until almost mid morning but today I was up just as the sun was peaking over the horizon. Everyone was just waking up and I saw panic on the head chiefs face as I walked past the kitchen. I was on a mission this morning. I wanted to get some air before the other Alphas got up. ^Statis report^ I mind linked my guards. ^All good, Blood Creek and Emerald forest got in late last night. No Crystal Island yet^ my head night guard reported. I debated about a morning run but my wolf wasnt happy I was up so I walk back inside. The head chief walked towards me and bows, "Your highness we weren't expecting you up so early. I have coffee and some toast waiting for you. The meal was just started my apologies " he said and I placed a hand on his shoulder. "I didnt know I was getting up this early either. You are more that fine. Thank you for your honesty" I say as I walk into the dining room. I always made sure to give my staff the respect they deserved. Very few people were up and those who were bowed when I entered. I sat and drank my coffee. Soon I heard the Alpha of Silver moon enter. "Your highness is up early " he said and I chuckled. "So are you Luke" I say and he rolls his eyes. Luke was my half cousin, he took over Silver moon because I had no siblings. He wasnt blood related to me but we grew up like brothers so he was the right choice for Alpha. "So Mizuki is turning two already where has time gone" he said and I chuckled. "How do you think I feel? My baby is getting to big to fast" i say as i hear a squeal. I look up and see a sleepy Stella walking in with Mizuki. "Ah Luke, here is your baby thank you for coming bye" she said as she handed Luke Mizuki and walked out of the room. I roared with laughter as Mizuki looked at Luke before starting to scream. Luke was a very level headed guy and normally didnt panic. As Mizuki continued to scream I saw his panic. "Um...here's daddy" he said handing me the toddler. The second she was in my arms Mizuki stopped crying. She got my smell and then smiled while holding on to me for dear life. "Well at least you know that she wont let others hold her" Luke said as he rubbed the back of his neck. I couldn't help but chuckle just a little, "Shes my girl, trust me she does that to her momma sometimes" I say as Stella walks in. "Dont let him fool you, she has done it to him more times then I can count" she said exposing my slight lie causing both Luke and I chuckle. Soon breakfast was served and most of the pack was in the hall eating with us. Luke and I talked during breakfast. It had been about a year since we had talked. Even though we lived close he had his pack and I had the territory to watch over. After breakfast Stella and I greeted the other Alphas before starting the direction of the last minute decorating. Stella and I were on opposite sides of the yard and Mizuki kept going between us. She would occasionally stop and play on a rock or follow someone else. Soon it was getting close to nap time. Her nanny came over and greeted Stella before grabbing Mizuki and taking her inside. Mizuki would sometimes throw a fit about nap time but she seemed fine with it today. She had a different room she slept in during nap time because Stella and I both agreed that no one beside us should be allow in our room. It was a smaller room that we agreed once she was older would become her bed room. It was located just down the hall from our master room. "Your highness the cake is ready and the decoration are up" my beta told me as I finished a conversation with the Emerald forest Alpha. My beta was an advisor for all meetings and wasnt your typical beta. "Let's start the celebration Mizuki should be up from her nap in about an hour." I say and he nods. He qued the music and the festivities started. It took about an hour before Nina was bring Mizuki out to Stella. "The birthday girl has arrived " Stella announced and I howl. It was custom at a party, especially for an alpha pup, to have a birthday howl. Everyone else howls with me. Even Mizuki tried to howl but it came out as more of a cute barking sound. This caused everyone to laugh and Mizuki smiled. We started the celebration. We had games for the young pups to play. Mizuki tried a few but she would get distracted and go to the next thing. I handed Mizuki to Nina while I walked in to check on the cake. It was done and decorated but they were putting the candles on her cake. The cooks bowed to me and I nodded. "We are ready for the cake when you are" I say and they nod. "We will bring it out in a few moments. We were just refilling the drinks" the head cheif said. I nod before walking outside. I walk over to Stella. She wraps her arm around my waist. I pull her close and kiss her temple. "Cake is gonna be out in a moment" I say as I scan the crowd. "That's good" Stella says as I stiffen a little. "What's wrong" she asks looking around. Panic sets in as I look for Mizuki and Nina. 'Do you see them' I link Stella. "No" she replies before letting go of me. Third person POV Everyone immediately started looking for the toddler. Stella has shifted first and began searching. Several others shifted as well but Stella found Mizuki's scent leaving the party. Based on the single scent Stella could tell that Mizki was unaccompanied. Anger rose is Stella and James. James shifted and joined Stella. They followed the scent and then was hit with four or five unknown scents. She informed the guards, who joined the King and Queen quickly. The guards followed the scents to the edge of Silver mooons territory. Being the kings guard they could enter any of the four territories if they chose to. They reported back informing the king that the scents lead into Crystal island territory. They followed the scents until they came to the edge Crystal island territory. This was then leaving the kings territory. No one from Crystal island had shone up. The alpha had been sick, which James understood. James was furious that none of the Crystal island guards saw who walked through their territory. Alpha Luke tried to calm his step cousin down and ordered warriors from his pack to search the area as well. They found the same trail but no one could find where the unknown scents came from. The hunt for Mizuki lasted a week, with the intense searching. But soon it turned to weeks and then months. Soon even the scents seemed to disappear. A task force continued the search, as the king wasnt able to keep everyone on finding his beloved daughter. Mizuki was gone without a trace.
