Arrangement

Genny is usually the second person into work and the second to last person to leave every day. But, today she was the first person. She is the secretary of one of the most prosperous companies in New York. She began working for Cross about 3 years ago. The company was named after the first CEO James Cross, he passed away 7 years before she began her career here. The company is now run by Eric Cross, his son. Genny got the job thanks to a good word of a friend who also worked here. Scott emphasized her skills with numbers and grammar. Informing Eric that she was the best in grade school and went on to get a master's in business. Genny had a personal interview with him a week later and got the job. She started off as a simple office worker and quickly got promoted to secretary. Unintentionally taking the job from Prisca, and she has not let up on her crude ways since. But, Genny does her best not to let the bully distract her from her work. She doesn't get paid to deal with Prisca. She gets paid to handle Eric's finances and schedules. And so far he has seemed very pleased with what she has presented. The company's profits had increased by 27%. Bringing it to the most it has ever been. Eric came in about 5 hours after his normal entry time. He had missed his first meeting of the day forcing Genny to have it rescheduled. He went straight into his office without saying a word. Which isn't out of the normal, but there was tension in the air this morning. Genny was almost afraid to go to his office to inform him about the rescheduling. But, she swallowed her fear, stood from her desk, and began to make her way to the double doors that dawned his name. She knocked lightly and after a few seconds, he was commanded to come in. Genny opened the door to reveal an extremely distressed looking man. Although not in physical appearance Eric's face was drawn taught and his eyes seemed almost wild. The boss was an extremely handsome man, his skin was a dark chocolate hue. The dark grey suit was pressed into perfection stretching not too tightly across his muscled frame. He stood about 6'4 and his locks reaching mid-back always kept clean. Eric's eyes were a lot like his suit in color a dark grey giving attention to masculine facial structure. His nose kind of sharp, lips was full and held white beautiful teeth. Genny often found herself staring at him with her heart racing. "Genevieve, what can I do for you?" His voice was a bit impatient but he tried to hide it. "Um, the meeting from this morning-" His eyes widened, "s**t!" He ran his hands over his face. "That meeting was important, damn it." Genny was a bit surprised at his outburst she didn't say anything for a moment. "Well, that's what I was coming to inform you of Mr. Cross. I was able to reschedule it for Friday at 10:30." Eric looked at Genny with relief in his eyes. "You did? Thank you so much. I do apologize for this entire morning. I should have been here. But, I had other pressing matters to tend to." Suddenly he looked at Genny with curiosity. "Genevieve. What are you doing next month between the dates of the 17th and 30th?" Genny was taken aback again. "Um, I suppose working during the week and at home on the weekend. Is something wrong?" Eric heard the worry in her voice but figured she'd be his best bet at this point. " So basically nothing? Would you be interested in taking a... business trip with me to Wyoming?" Her eyes widened, she's never gone on a trip with him. That's been one job Prisca has never given up. "Oh no, no, no. I couldn't do that. Prisca-" He cut her off again, "Prisca can't join me for this trip. I will not take anyone but you, please." Genny couldn't refuse after seeing the desperation in his eyes. But, it made her wonder what type of business were they going to visit that it had to absolutely be her.
