Evil Cheerleder

Chapter 3. {Sam} Girlfriend?! Of course he has a girlfriend, I mean look at him. How could I be so stupid? He was just being friendly and flirty, he’s not into me. I don’t know why, but a part of me is hurt. Seeing that cheerleader wrap her arm around his, made me sad and my blood boil all at the same time. Get over it, Sam. He’s not yours. You can’t date anyway. Life is complicated as it is and if Charlie found out… no. I don’t even want to think about what would happen if Charlie found out I had some silly crush. You’re here to finish school and save enough money to get far away and go to a college, any college, away from here, so Charlie can’t control you. I think that over and over in my head all throughout lunch. Focus on the goal, Sam. Stay alive and graduate, then you’re free. As lunch is ending, I send Charlie a quick text telling him I got an after-school job and I won't be home until late, holding my breath hoping he handles it well. Minutes passed and no response – not good. I shake it off and head to my afternoon classes, avoiding the glare of Ryan and his entire table as I leave the cafeteria. The afternoon was uneventful. Lessons and more homework to fill my night, but most of the whispering has stopped and a few people have even said hello. I head to my locker to grab my things when I feel 2 hands on my back push me into the locker, hitting the corner of my eye on the lock. Gasping, I turn to see who it is and find the bitchy cheerleader, Rachael and her clan, standing behind me with a smug look. “What the f**k is wrong with you?!” I yelled at her, instantly pissed off. “He’s MINE! Stay away from him. Don’t look at him. Don’t talk to him. Don’t even breathe around him! It’s bad enough that your stench is throughout the school. I wont tell you again you little slut!” I looked at her shocker and amused. She’s talking about Ryan, of course she is, but what does she mean my stench? I shower every day and I don’t wear perfume. Other than my soap and shampoo, I don’t smell anything. “I don’t want him. I don’t even know him. How about you get your dog under control if you’re so worried about competition. He came up and talked to Me. Not the other way around, you psychopath and my personal hygiene is up to par. Thank you very much. I guess what you’re smelling is the fish market between your own legs.” Content with my own witty remark, I smile and begin to turn around, but before I can do so I see Rachael’s hand coming right towards my face when suddenly someone grabs it midair. Looking up, I see Ryan with a death grip on her wrist with his teeth clenched and he’s visibly shaking. Everyone is scared, even me. “What the f**k do you think you’re doing Rachael?!” “I..I.. She ..um.. She was disrespecting you. I was defending your honor!” “What?!” I scream at her. f*****g t**t. “You stupid b***h! YOU SHOVED ME INTO MY LOCKER AND TRIED ORDERING ME AROUND LIKE I’M ONE OF YOUR PATHETIC FOLLOWERS!” I say through clenched teeth pointing to the corner of my eye. “YOU HIT HER?!” He all but screams it, inching closer to her face and at this moment I’m grateful the school emptied out leaving us alone in the hall. Ryan is now an inch away from her face and says through gritted teeth, “We are Not together Rachael! We will never be together again. I made that clear at the end of last year. You’re a self-centered b***h and I want nothing to do with you. If I find out you touched Sam again, you will regret it.” I swallow the lump in my throat, surprised by his words as the evil cheerleaders disappear, but not before I see Rachael shooting daggers at me, telling me this isn’t over. Great. I turned back toward my locker and grabbed my things, rushing to get out of there. I’m already going to be late for work on my first day. I guess I wont be getting employee of the month anytime soon. “Are you okay, Sam?” I can feel his warmth close to my body and I begin to relax as I find comfort in him standing close. “I’m fine. Thanks for that, but I had it under control.” He smirks, “I’m sure you did but Rachael had it coming for awhile. She doesn’t know her place. Can I see your eye?” I turn letting him see, kind of curious myself. “I’m fine really. The lock did more damage than she ever would. Just a little bruise.” I can see him starting to get mad again as he brushes his thumb across the corner of my eye. I put my hand on his, trying to reassure him that I’m okay. I see Ryan visibly calm down with just my touch and I feel the electricity shoot through me again. Caught off guard by it, I quickly pull my hand back and he looks at me, surprised. “You feel it, don’t you.” “I uh.. Feel what?” “The electricity between us. Shooting from me to you.” “Static I guess.” I try to play it cool, “I really have to go. I’m already late.” I grab my bag and take off towards Pop’s Diner, texting Liv telling her I’ll be there in 10, grateful Ryan didn’t try to follow me. {Ryan} I want to follow Sam out, but I give her space. I don’t want to scare her after everything that just happened. My thoughts shoot back to Rachael and I instantly start to lose control again, Blake's trying to take control, yelling at me to punish her now. I take a deep breath, pushing Blake into the back of my mind, calming myself down. “We can’t Blake. We have a protocol to follow, and no one knows she’s my mate. I can’t slaughter everyone that has a problem with her. It’ll make everything look suspicious. I’ll keep a closer eye on Rachael and Sam.” Disappointed with my answer, Blake blocks me out. As I’m walking to my car, my phone pings, letting me know I got a text from Brody. “Meet at Pop’s.” Even though I’m not really in the mood, I go anyway. Pop’s could always turn my day around
