Rain's words felt like ice water was poured directly over my body. For one terrifying second, nobody moved.
Ryan was still half lying against the floor, shirtless, injured, exhausted, far too recognisable if anyone from the council got a proper look at him, especially now that his hood had been pushed back slightly during our conversation, exposing the sharp line of his jaw and part of his face beneath the dim light.
