The Secret Lives of Pop Stars

Hi guys. My name is Kai and I'm originally from W4ttpad and I dropped here for a contest but ended up signing a contract with Dreame. So here we go. I'm super new to Dreame so my story format (even this intro) might be different from Dreame's but I hope it doesn't put you off. Normally western stories litter everywhere but I'm a person who writes Asian stories, well because I'm Asian myself. I wanted to write a LGQT+ romance between two guys who fall in love in the past but have to be careful about it once they become celebrities. So it's kind of a f0rbidden romance too (?) Now some basic info about the story for you to get an idea. 「 b l u r b 」 For as long as he could remember, Charlie Kuno had wanted to be a j-pop idol. But what awaited him was the constant rain of rejections from auditions because of his half Japanese looks. So when he finally gets recruited by I.B. Entertainment-- an once popular management company-- Charlie was sure he was one step closer to his dream. What he doesn't know is that this was the final gamble by his company to survive from the verge of bankruptcy. Just when things slightly start looking up, reality crashes and Charlie is forced to make staking decisions. Thrown into a foreign land with a different language, culture and standards, Charlie and four other boys with differences ranging between the heavens and earth are put together to form the group, aXle, only to find that behind the glamour of k-pop's lights and perfect white smiles is a hidden world of struggles, tears, first times and even unspoken love. So if you want the gay, be a little patient yeah? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) • Now that all posh (and all the glorious promises ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) stuff are done with, let me start with the warnings (?) First of, this a love story. Kpop is just a medium for me to grow my characters. You don't have to be a veteran in kpop for you to read this.  I know at this point in time, almost 80% of audience might have heard of the term K-pop. For people who aren't used to this genre of music, it might appear too flashy, bizarre, intimidating and sometimes scary. Or you think it only has BTS. But it is more than that. It is a beautiful world of bonds and music. As a fan, I've been through so much so instead of the mindless fluff I wanted this story in the past, this will be a realistic take on the industry. You will have the fluff, yes. But you will also see the hardships idols go behind the screen as they strive to make a name for themselves. I just want to imagine my characters in my idols' shoes and write about their hardships and not the glamourous side the world acknowledges they are a part of. And since I'm that rare person who discovered k-pop via j-pop (Japanese Pop genre. It's been there longer than kpop), the story would showcase both the genres. This is a story with mainly East Asian characters so if you find it hard, do tell me so I can provide with nice footnotes :') Anyways, I really hope you enjoy the story. I love you guys. Kai.
