It is said that the future belongs to the youth. The new generations are those who can make a turn in society. They are the weap
I am from a small place where different rules, conditions and mentality exist. Willing to master the world, with an intended purpose and set plan in advance, I came to study in a city unfamiliar to me. Going to university, daily I found myself in various situations of which some were destroying my dreams so image how society works. Here for the first time, the word ‘yokel’ went deep into me and I realised its meaning. Here for the first time, I asked the question of whether everyone going to work is happy because of it. Driving on the bus I could see the gloomy faces of the people returning home from work, I could see people who fell asleep as soon as they found a free seat on the bus. So far, I haven’t paid attention to details and to the people around me, but it seems impossible not to hear a woman’s conversation in which a woman complains to her friend that of 15 job interviews she has been to and with two university diplomas, she was rejected for the job everywhere. It’s impossible not to be touched by a mother’s conversation in which she tells her children that if they are obedient, they will hear their father who is abroad for profit. While I was trying to conquer the world, I understood that it was conquering me. I hurried to grow up, impatiently waiting for the day when I would become an academic citizen, but now I am afraid of entering the world of adults, I am afraid that one day when I have graduated from university, I would have to leave the country as my father did… Now when he is no longer with us, I ask myself whether I am ready enough not to leave this country, whether I shall succeed among the crowd of people looking for a job, whether I can make the changes the world needs. I still doubt that one day when I go for a job interview, they will ask about my family background and will take my parents into consideration not who I am. However, deep inside me, I believe that If one is too good, he or she will become successful in any career. I believe that dreams come true but it takes time and effort.
