Victoria Black had spent her entire life learning one simple lesson: the world belonged to people who had power. She learned it as a child, long before she understood what power truly meant.Victoria grew up in a small, broken-down neighborhood where poverty was not something people talked about because everyone already knew what it looked like. It was the empty cupboard in the kitchen. It was the landlord knocking on the door. It was her mother coming home late at night with tired eyes and pretending she wasn’t exhausted. It was wearing the same shoes until the sole began to separate from the bottom. It was watching other children receive things they took for granted and learning not to ask for them because she knew her mother couldn’t afford them. Her father had left when she was young, taking whatever little hope the family had of becoming stable with him.Victoria remembered asking her mother one night why they had to struggle so much. Her mother had looked at her for a long time before answering.“Because we were born without power.”Victoria never forgot those words. She promised herself that she would never be powerless again. But Victoria was not an ordinary child. When she was sixteen, something inside her awakened. It happened during a fight at school. A girl who had spent months humiliating her finally pushed her too far. Victoria grabbed her wrist, expecting nothing more than to push her away.Instead, the girl suddenly stopped. Her expression changed. The anger disappeared from her face and was replaced by confusion, then sadness. Within seconds, tears were running down her cheeks.Victoria let go.The girl collapsed into a chair.Victoria had no idea what she had done. She soon discovered that she could feel emotions that did not belong to her. She could sense fear before someone showed it. She could make an angry person calm. She could make someone who hated her suddenly trust her. With concentration, she could manipulate emotions so strongly that a person could experience feelings that were not their own.At first, Victoria was terrified. Then she realized what her ability could do.She had spent her entire childhood watching powerful people control her family. Now she had something they didn’t.She had a weapon nobody could see.But there was a price.Every time Victoria manipulated another person’s emotions, she lost a small piece of her own.At first, it was something insignificant.A happy memory would become dull.A moment of excitement would feel empty.A childhood memory would lose its warmth. The more she used her ability, the more emotionally distant she became.Victoria noticed it happening but convinced herself that it was worth it.After all, emotions had never saved her family.Money could,Influence could,Power could. So Victoria chose power. She left school determined to build a life nobody could take from her. She started smallShe worked wherever she could find work. She learned about business, finance, technology, investment and human behavior. She watched wealthy people closely. She learned how they spoke, how they negotiated, how they lied and how they recognized weakness.Victoria didn’t just want to become rich. She wanted to understand the system that had kept people like her poor. Then she wanted to own itHer first successful business was a small security company. It wasn’t glamorous, and nobody expected much from it.Victoria saw an opportunity where everyone else saw an ordinary business. She used her intelligence, determination and supernatural ability to negotiate contracts.Whenever a powerful businessman tried to intimidate her, she made him feel uncertain.Whenever someone planned to betray her, she sensed it before they acted.Whenever someone tried to cheat her, she knew.Victoria’s company grew. One business became threeThree became tenTen became an empire.Within fifteen years, Victoria Black went from a poor girl nobody noticed to one of the most powerful women in the country. Her company, Blackstone International, expanded into technology, security, finance, real estate and private communications. She owned hotels. She owned companies. She owned buildings that reached the clouds. She had drivers, private security, assistants and people who waited hours just for a chance to speak to her.The little girl who once worried about where her next meal would come from now lived in a mansion overlooking the city. The world called her a self-made billionaire.Victoria called herself prepared.Because underneath the expensive suits, private jets and millions of dollars was the same frightened girl who had once watched strangers remove her family’s belongings from their home. She never forgot where she came from. And she never trusted anyone enough to let them take it away again. But success came with enemies.Victoria had built her empire in a world where powerful men were accustomed to controlling everything. Some hated that a woman had become richer and more influential than they were.Others feared her. Some wanted to work .

The woman everyone fears
The first thing Victoria Black heard that morning was the sound of sirens. She opened her eyes slowly. For a few seconds, she didn’t move. The bedroom was dark despite the morning sunlight outside. Heavy curtains covered the enormous windows of her penthouse, leaving only thin lines of golden light across the marble floor. Then the sirens came again. Closer this time. Victoria sat up. Her eyes moved toward the window. Something was wrong. Her phone began ringing on the bedside table. Once. Twice. Three times. She picked it up. “Victoria.” It was her head of security, Marcus. His voice was unusually tense. “Ma’am, you need to leave the building.” Victoria frowned. “Why?” “We have police downstairs.” She looked at the clock. 6:17 a.m. “How many?” “Too many.” Victoria got out of bed. She walked toward the window and pulled the curtain aside. Her breath caught. Police vehicles filled the street below. Officers surrounded the entrance to her building. Some were carrying weapons. Others were standing beside black vans. Victoria stared down at them. Then she smiled. It was a small smile. Almost amused. “They finally found me.” Marcus went silent. “Ma’am?” “How long?” “They’re already inside the building.” Victoria turned away from the window. “Then there’s no reason to panic.” “Victoria, they’re here with a warrant.” “I heard you.” “They’re charging you with murder.” The smile disappeared. For a moment, something flashed across her eyes. Pain. Then it vanished. Victoria walked toward her wardrobe. “Get the helicopter ready.” “Ma’am, the helipad is compromised.” She stopped. “What?” “They anticipated it.” Victoria’s jaw tightened. For the first time that morning, she realized something. This wasn’t a normal police raid. They had planned everything. Her exits. Her security, Her helicopter, Her accounts.Everything. Someone had given the police information from inside her company. Someone she trusted. Victoria’s phone rang again. This time, it was Daniel. She stared at his name. Her heart skipped. Daniel. The only person in the world who could make her forget she was Victoria Black—the billionaire, the feared businesswoman, the woman whose name made powerful men nervous. She answered. “Daniel?” His voice was quiet. “Where are you?” “In my bedroom.” “Don’t leave.” Victoria frowned. “Why?” “Because they’re not just coming for you.” A pause. “They’re coming for everyone connected to you.” Victoria’s heart began beating faster. “What are you saying?” “I’m saying you need to trust me.” She laughed bitterly. “That’s an interesting thing to ask me.” Silence. Daniel knew exactly what she meant. Trust had never come easily to Victoria. And with Daniel, it had become complicated. He was the first person she had ever loved. The first person she had allowed into her private world. The first man who had seen the frightened girl beneath the queen. But there were things Victoria didn’t know about Daniel. Things that would eventually destroy everything between them. “Victoria,” he said softly. “Listen to me.” She closed her eyes. “Go to the underground garage.” “Why?” “There’s a car waiting.” “Whose car?” “Mine.” She opened her eyes. “Daniel, where are you?” Another silence. Then, “I’m sorry.” The call ended. Victoria stared at the phone. Something was wrong, Very wrong. She quickly dressed in a black suit and walked toward the bedroom door. Before she could open it, a loud explosion shook the apartment. Victoria stumbled backward. Glass shattered. Her security alarms screamed. Then came the sound of gunfire. Victoria’s eyes changed. The brown in them slowly disappeared, replaced by a faint silver glow. She lifted one hand. A bullet flying toward her suddenly stopped in midair. It hovered inches from her face. Victoria stared at it. Then she flicked her fingers. The bullet flew backward. A man screamed somewhere outside. Victoria grabbed her handbag. She walked calmly through the smoke. Her guards were lying unconscious in the hallway. She looked at them, Then at the elevator. Police officers were coming up. Victoria took the stairs. She moved quickly. Three floors down, she heard footsteps. She turned. Two officers appeared. “Victoria Black!” She raised her hands. “You’re under arrest!” Victoria looked at them. Their fear was obvious, She could feel it. She could reach into it. All she had to do was use her power. Make them terrified. Make them forget why they were there. She almost did. Then she stopped. Something inside her whispered: Run. She turned and jumped over the railing. The officers shouted. Victoria fell two floors. But instead of hitting the ground, an invisible force exploded beneath her. She landed safely. She looked at her hands. Her powers were changing again. “That’s new.” Then she heard a familiar voice. “Victoria!” She turned. Daniel stood at the end of the hallway. Black shirt, Dark trousers, A gun in his hand. Victoria froze. “Daniel?” He looked at her. His expression was unreadable. Then he slowly lowered the weapon. “I told you to run.” Victoria stared at him. “Who are you?” Daniel didn’t answer. Behind him, police officers appeared. Victoria suddenly understood. The gun. The police. The warning. The phone call. Her eyes narrowed. “You knew.” Daniel swallowed. “Victoria…” “You knew they were coming.” “I was trying to protect you.” “From what?” He stepped closer. “From yourself.” Victoria laughed. It wasn’t a happy laugh. It was the kind of laugh someone gave when their heart had just been broken. “You have no idea who you’re talking to.” Daniel looked directly into her eyes. “I know exactly who you are.” The police raised their weapons. “Victoria Black, get on your knees!” She didn’t move. Instead, she looked at Daniel. And whispered: “Tell me you didn’t betray me.” Daniel said nothing. That was all the answer she needed. Victoria’s eyes filled with tears. But she refused to let them fall. She turned toward the police. Slowly, she placed her hands behind her back. The officers approached. One of them handcuffed her. For the first time in years, Victoria Black was powerless. Or so they thought. As they led her away, Daniel watched silently. Victoria stopped at the elevator. She looked back at him. Their eyes met. And in that moment, Daniel remembered the first time she had kissed him. He remembered her laughter. Her hands in his. The way she fell asleep against his chest. The way she had whispered that she trusted him. He had betrayed her. But the worst part was that he loved her. Victoria smiled sadly. Then she whispered so quietly that only he could hear: “I’ll never forgive you.” The elevator doors closed. Daniel stood alone. Then his phone rang. He answered. A man’s voice spoke from the other end. “Is Victoria Black in custody?” Daniel looked at the elevator. “Yes.” “Good.” The man paused. “Now bring us her.”Daniel frowned. “She’s going to prison.” “No.” The voice became colder. She’s going somewhere else.” Daniel’s expression changed. “Where?” The man laughed. “Where every gifted person eventually ends up.” The call ended. Daniel slowly lowered his phone. And for the first time, he realized something terrifying. He hasn’t been sent to arrest Victoria, He was sent to deliver her, Alive Because the people behind her arrest didn’t want Victoria’s empire They didn’t even want her money, they wanted her power And Victoria had no idea what was waiting fur her
