Checking in and Making Out
The Front Desk Lover-Part 1 The Mainstream towered over Washoe Valley. Although it was a worn-looking resort on the outside, the inside had been completely remodeled, and, therefore, looked brand new. The renovations had taken two years to complete, including a brand new underground waterpark. Gabriella Reynolds was getting ready for her first front desk shift alone. She was nervous but excited to see how her first day would turn out. Starting on the day shift was not always easy, but she knew the new challenge was helping her uncertain future in some way. That was until she saw her very first guest. She couldn't believe it as she did the intake of information and put it into the system, at first not realizing who he was being so focused on her job. After asking for his ID, she finally looked up in shock and he gave her a ridiculously huge smile; her favorite actor, Sean MacMannus stood in front of her. She turned beet red, mentally kicking herself for not realizing who she was actually inputting into the computer. She started to apologize profusely, adding that she was new and wanted to not make any mistakes. He waved it off and told her she did fine, trying to calm her down. She laughed nervously and shyly looked at him as she handed him his key. “Do you need to sit down, miss?” he asked, the thick Scottish accent almost melting her resolve, but still declined as she was on the clock, though she felt shaky. Her supervisor came out and asked her if she was alright. MacMannus covered for her, saying she looked a bit ill and offered to find her a seat. The supervisor took pity on her and let her sit down. They walked over to a sofa next to the coffee shop, and he took her hand; sparks flowed up her arm and she flushed again. She looked into his eyes, hypnotized by the mud-brown pools, and could see recognition of something burning between them. She tried to shake it off, but the feeling would not cease. She softly smiled, albeit shyly, but still, it was a smile.  “You seem nervous,” he said, his warm voice washing over her like warm tea. She closed her eyes, willing the feeling to not affect her body, instead, feeling every part responding and her eyes started to water and blur. She finally realized she wasn't breathing and exhaled, coughing and shaking. She felt his hand pat her back and the sparks reappeared at each contact. Completely overwhelmed, her eyes finally rolled back and she fainted. She awoke in his suite, disoriented and confused. He quickly appeared, taking her hand and soothing away my fear but at the same time reawakening the initial reaction to his touch. She tried to pull away, but he held her hand still. “Mr. MacMannus,” she finally said, her voice shaky and slightly groggy, sounding like a frog. “Call me Sean, please?” he corrected softly, bringing down her defenses again. Closing her eyes, she sighed and corrected herself. “Sean,” she said after clearing her throat. He smiled and nodded for her to continue. “Why am I here in your room?” “You fainted,” he stated as her favorite smirk made its way to her face. “Your boss said you could have the rest of the day off. He felt you were a bit overwhelmed.” She closed her eyes, knowing how bad this looked for her next shift. He seemed to understand her dismay because he tried to embrace her. She moved away, not knowing why he was being so affectionate. She looked down to see her uniform was still on and breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at her, a bit disheartened, but still understood. “I offered to let you stay here to stabilize.” “That was kind of you,” she whispered. Taking in her surroundings, the suite was quite something. Its view was near high enough to see all of Reno, and she sat on the king-size bed, finally noticing a second room. She should have remembered he wasn't traveling alone... or was he? She looked to him as if to ask. “My daughter and sons will be joining me later,” he confessed. She noticed the fact he left out his wife from the list of company.  “And what of Cynthia?” Gabby asked, somehow remembering her name. “You really are a fan, aren't you?” he chuckled lightly. “She isn't joining me this trip. Or any future trips to be honest.” “What do you mean, Sean?” she asked, her voice laced with concern. His eyes misted over, and she realized she'd hit a sore spot. She reached out to soothe him this time and he didn't pull away. “ I apologize. I didn't realize your marriage had hit a rough spot.” “Rough spot,” he sniffed out, bitterly. “More like cut off and fed to wolves. She left me.” Gabby looked at him in horror and awe, wondering what insanity could have taken over his wife's brain. Shaking it off, she realized Sean needed comfort now. Gabriella wrapped her arms around him, trying to will every ounce of compassion she had for him. He nuzzled against her, finding comfort in her arms. They stayed like that for a few moments and she ran her fingers through his hair, smiling as she felt the tension in his muscles fade, his heartbeat slowing to normal. Sean looked at her through red-rimmed eyes, a smile appearing. “Your kindness knows no bounds,” he finally said.  “I don't like seeing those I care about in pain,” Gabby admitted, “especially if it's my favorite actor.” He laughed, and the sound was sweeter than she remembered from his movies. She saw him differently now and didn't feel as tense as the sparks flowed again. She guessed it was more fear of his wife than she was of losing her job.  Although she knew she would get in trouble for it, the next thing she knew her mouth was on his unrestrained and forceful. At first, the sudden show of passion took him by surprise, but as he regained his senses, he kissed her back, gently pushing her back to the bed. Their mouths opened; their tongues danced. Gabby felt Sean's bodyweight lean on her and she wrapped her body around his. His hands ran over her clothes searching for the closures that would free her skin to his touch. His mouth left hers only to attack her neck and she rolled her head back to give better access. A moan escaped her throat as she felt his hands finally found the clasps to undo the closures on her uniform and push away her shirt to reveal her smooth skin underneath. “Oh Sean,” She gasped as his hands rubbed over her skin, turning her core to lava and she felt as though the room was spinning wildly. She hadn't felt this good in years and her passion levels are way out of the realm of reality. She felt freer now than ever, as her mind was clouded, but her heart was clearly feeling fulfilled at this moment. His lips kissed down her chest his hands moving the fabric of her bra aside and he took one of her n*****s into his mouth. She screamed in passion as the fingers of his right hand pinched the other n****e to bring it to rise as his mouth gently sucked at the other breast. She couldn't remember when she last felt this way. His other hand made its way up her skirt and she felt his fingers graze lightly against her core. “MMMM,” she heard him groan, his mouth full of her other n****e and breast. She writhed against his hand, mutely asking for more contact and friction. A smile formed as he mercilessly attacked her chest; pressing slightly harder against her c**t with his thumb; she felt complete euphoria wash over her as a climax ripped through her and soaked her panties. Gabby let out a guttural moan as Sean let up the pressure from her swollen bud, and she shakily came down from her cloud. Her breathing was shallow, but she found herself smiling. “Okay,” she said, clearing her vision, “I think we really need to talk about some things. I know how I usually react and that was not me.”  “You are an amazing lover though,” Sean told her, quickly attacking her neck again. She closed her eyes, slowly letting her body give in to him again; she felt like she was being introduced to heaven. She just wanted another moment to revel in his attention, but she gently pushed up on his chest, and he sat up pulling her with him. “Sean,” she said, “We really need to talk about this. As much as I totally enjoyed that absolutely spontaneous moment of lust, I think we need to discuss this first. I mean you haven't taken me out to dinner yet, and yet we are here making out in your suite.” “I would call it emotional release,” he corrected her, “but you do have a point about the food. A man should never see a woman as his meal. What would you like to order from room service?” “Seriously?” she asked taken aback. “Um, some chicken fingers, I guess. With fries and a lemonade.” “You're sure?” he asked incredulously, “that doesn't sound that big.” “I used to work as a room service cashier,” Gabby answered, “I know how big the portions are.” “I surrender to experience greater than my own. I will be making that order, you relax here.” Sean's smile made her blush a bit, so she left the bedroom to sit in the living area on a rose chaise. Soon he sat next to her again, and she started feeling nervous. Even though they were being quite intimate earlier, she felt extremely out of her comfort zone. “You look tense again, Gabby,” he said. “I am sure you don't usually find yourself in such a situation as this, but you should understand that I know you feel the same as me; I haven't felt this way since before my wife left.” “We barely know each other though,” Gabby said with a shaky voice, “well I know a lot about you, but you know barely anything about me. I also don't want this to end up being a one-night stand. I am not accusing you of it but think about it. I know you aren't staying here long. Then you are gone from the resort. While you are a guest here, I shouldn't sleep with you. I could get in trouble for what we did already.” “Okay,” he said, trying to calm her, “I understand you wanting me to know more about you first and the fact that sleeping together here is probably bad for your job. Not to mention that it would be considered a bit early, though I don't really mind the idea. There is something you do need to know. I am not leaving Reno for some time. That is unless I am needed for a film or show project.” “I am not understanding,” Gabby said, confusion all over her face. “My daughter, Lyma, has decided she wants to attend school here. I am going to buy some property around here, like a real home or condo. I am here temporarily to check out the campus to ensure my daughter will be safe as well as find permanent lodging for myself.” “So you are staying in Reno? Permanently?” “It appears that way,” Sean said with a mega-watt smile. Gabby also smiled as she realized how this could be a bit more reasonable situation. Still, she felt some nerves over the possibility of sleeping with him, even though she just willingly made out with him. She kept thinking something wasn't right about giving herself to someone who barely knew anything about her. There was a knock at the door, disrupting her from her thoughts. One of the room servers called in to let them know their order was delivered. She hid in the bedroom while Sean opened the door. The server came in and by the sound of it, it might have been her old friend Miguel or Carlos, but Gabby couldn't really be sure. He inquired as to how she was and if there was anything else. Sean thanked him and assured him that she would be alright, but she was still sleeping. The server soon left but looked suspicious as he did. Gabby reappeared from the other room. “So did he seem suspicious?” Gabby asked, walking over to the food.  “Paranoid?” Sean asked teasingly as he arranged the plates on the coffee table. "But, yes possibly." “I may be paranoid, but I am also looking out for my job,” Gabby said, a cutting edge to her voice, but he just shrugged, his eyes following her movements. She sat on the rose chaise and took her plate from the coffee table. Sean soon joined her and they ate in comfortable silence. After finishing their meals and Sean setting everything on the cart and rolling it outside to be taken back at the servers' convenience, he joined Gabby back on the lounge while she fidgeted with her nails. “So what's the next step, sweetie?” he asked, taking one of her hands and kissing it softly. Gabby looked up, surprised at first, still thinking she was going to wake up from this any minute but smiled sadly. “You looked extremely focused and serious,” he continued, “I was wondering if your brain was still here in the present.” “Why do you think it would be elsewhere?” she asked, closing her eyes and getting her head straight again. “You looked far away.” She smiled. For a man who barely knew her, he could certainly read her pretty well. She nodded in agreement. “You're right,” she answered, humor evident in her voice. “I was far away, thinking about all the pros and cons of this situation. I hate to admit it, but I am huge about overthinking situations, big or small. I can only imagine how much that will annoy you in the future.” “So you do want a future together?” Sean asked, obvious relief in his voice. “I am glad you aren't running for the hills with that last part,” Gabby said, “even though I was prepared for it. That being said, yes I want a future with you. A long one, hopefully. I don't expect marriage, not that it's an uncomfortable idea, but I just want to be able to share something pleasant and beautiful with someone I admire for years to come.” “Are you some kind of writer or something?” Sean asked. “Because that was f*****g beautiful.” “In actual fact,” Gabby started to say, pausing to let him realize it was one of his trademark phrases. “In actual fact,” she continued with a smile, “I am currently finishing a mysteryomance.” he nodded, continuing to rub her hands in both of his. She looked at him, slightly confused but also curious. “Well now I know a little more about you,” he stated, finally looking into her eyes. “Just by hearing you speak, I can tell you are creative, bright, and thoughtful. Three very attractive and admirable qualities and I can honestly say you truly are beautiful.” She smiled at the genuine compliment, blushing a bit; knowing it was completely honest. “Just wait until you get a load of my sense of humor,” she joked. “Oh funny, too? This list just keeps getting longer.” “Do you want to know any more of my flaws?” Gabby asked. “You seem to not mind everything I have just said about me overthinking.” “I want to know everything about my soon-to-be girlfriend.” Gabby had to smile at that but then looked unhappy. “Well here is something you may not want to hear, but you need to,” she said, grimacing as she did, “I have problems with being honest sometimes. I don't say this lightly, but I do think you should be warned. What I have said before this, is all true. Don't think it isn't. I just want to get it out there so you aren't surprised if that happens. I will never intend to lie or be dishonest with you. I just can't promise that it won't happen.” “Well, you just made up for the fact that you can be dishonest with your honesty just now,” Sean said, his face and voice both grave and serious, considering her admission. “That isn't an easy chunk to swallow, but I know it wasn't easy to say.” “It's probably my biggest flaw,” she maintained, “my second biggest is my hygiene. I have something called ablutophobia. Trust me it's a rare condition, but it's real. It means I have an irrational fear of cleaning, including taking a shower on a regular basis. Same for brushing my teeth. Lots of people mistake it for laziness, but I have had this issue since I was 10 I think.” “Well the fact that you are laying this out at the beginning is a good sign you don't want me to leave... or you are testing my resolve to stay.” “Either way, I think you haven't been scared off yet. Both those confessions would send men running for the hills. I only ask you to let me be me, and I will let you be you. I just don't want you having any false impressions of me.”  “I love the sincerity. Another check in the pro column. So far you haven't given me a reason to turn tail and run.” “You are a very brave man,” Gabby said with a bit more relief, a weight off her chest. He had definitely passed her test of resolve, and every passing moment she was a little more willing to get more intimate since he accepted her as she was so willingly. This did not help with the issue of sleeping with him in the same hotel she worked in. Gabby smiled, but it looked conflicted. “What's wrong now?” Sean asked, heaving an annoyed sigh, but also smiling. She got up and started to pace, trying to figure out how to present the problem. Finally, she stopped and looked at him. “I need to talk to my boss,” she said. “I need to ask him what is going to happen to me after today. I can't help but feel my employment hangs in the balance.” “I told you,” Sean said, “he didn't blame you for being overwhelmed. This hotel hasn't really hosted many true celebrities, I ended up being here on your first real day alone. I wouldn't worry about your job when you look at it that way.” “But me going back to work, after coming down from your room might draw unwanted attention to both of us. I don't want him getting the wrong idea about me. I have a plan though if you would care to hear it.” Sean nodded for her to continue, smiling at her obvious paranoia. She ignored it for the time being and continued. “Are you still considering sleeping with me?” “I would have to say yes,” Sean said, that cocky ass smirk appearing and making her lose her concentration. She shook it off but was losing the battle of controlling herself. He got up and walked over to where she stood, embracing her around the waist. “I have an idea that will draw less attention to both of us. I go down to the lobby and officially let them know I am going home to rest and will be back for my next shift whenever that is. Hopefully, I can get my supervisor's ear and I can tell him how embarrassed I am about my behavior. Then I can find out what he plans on doing in the meantime. If you're right, then I should be in the clear, but if not I still won't be too upset.”  “Because you'll have a sugar daddy?”     “No,” Gabby stated, swatting his chest playfully, “because I have a plan b. You see I just finished my novel because I got rid of my writer's block recently; I just need to find a publisher. I don't just see you for your money or your devilish good looks, Mr. MacMannus.” She gave him a look that screamed attitude, and he smirked again, slitting his eyes. “You know I rather you call me Sean,” he said, his mischievous brown eyes had her locked in place. She could drown in those mud brown pools and die a happy woman. He smiled as he leaned in to capture her mouth in a sweet, deep kiss. She moaned as he wrapped his arms around her tighter, holding her in place. They stayed like that for a bit, their tongues speaking volumes of what they truly intend to happen. Finally, they broke for air. “You didn't let me finish,” Gabby said, breathlessly and he smirked again. “I didn't know you hadn't, dearie,” Sean responded. “After I make sure of my employment or unemployment, I am going to find another hotel or motel that we can enjoy ourselves in. Once that is in place, I will give you a call and give you directions of where to go.” “That sounds awful clandestine,” he said, an eyebrow c****d. “Would you rather the paparazzi get a story about you and a random girl who works at a hotel getting a room together. I would rather keep my reputation intact, wouldn't you?” Sean seemed to think deeply about this, but realized her point, nodding and embracing her after she straightened herself back out. She left with his number on her phone and gave hers just in case he felt she was taking too long. She made him promise not to call for two hours. When she finally left, the time was only 3 pm, meaning they had spent nearly her whole shift in his room. Gabby sighed, feeling her brief employment had already come to an unceremonious end. She took the elevator to the lowest floor, took the escalator to the main casino floor, and walked to the front desk. Eric, her supervisor was waiting for her. “Are we feeling better, Ms. Reynolds?” he asked, concern laced in the question. She let down her guard a bit relieved that wasn't going to publicly humiliate her; Sean was more than likely telling me the truth. She smiled and nodded. “Will you join me in my office, we have some things to discuss concerning your employment?” She winced, believing her career was over at any hotel ever again. She slowly followed him to the office behind the check-in area as they wound their way back to his cubicle. He sat behind his black desk and motioned for her to sit across from him. “I am aware Mr. MacMannus fed you in his room when you woke up. Is this correct?” “He was ensuring I would have the strength to return to work,” she answered, “he was concerned about my condition and thought it prudent to give me some energy. He was only looking out for my safety and well-being because he felt he was the cause of my fainting in the first place.” “I see,” Eric said, considering her answer. She couldn't discern his reasoning, but could tell something wasn't coming across the way it should. “He told me you said my job was not in jeopardy,” Gabby said after a while. “And that was true at that time,” Eric said, “but the fact that you allowed him to buy you food implies you may have other things in mind.” “I assure you nothing happened. I wouldn't sleep with a guest, no matter if I knew them or not. It states that is grounds for immediate termination. Why would I want to put my job in jeopardy?” “Because I know how you feel about him,” Eric suddenly interrupted her. “I can keep my faculties in check. Besides he's not here for work, but for family. He told me he is looking at UNR for his daughter. She's of age to start college soon. He may also be looking around the area for a more permanent stay in the area.” “And what made him divulge this information with you?” “I think he was trying to calm me down, for what it's worth. He has his children listed as joining him tomorrow. I noticed that before my incident. At the time I did not know it was his children, but he clarified that as well.” “Is his wife joining them?” “I got the feeling he wasn't in the mood to talk about her. My intuition says there might be some trouble in that area, but I wouldn't push more information from a guest; especially sensitive information like that.” “Alright,” Eric said, “you can keep your job, then. Not only do I believe you, but I also commend you for your keeping the confidence of a guest personal.” “Well that is a huge load off my shoulders then,” Gabby replied with a genuine and contented sigh. “As many companies are hiring, I have a problem getting hired.” “You managed to get hired here,” Eric said. “I don't know how to explain it. I feel blessed to have this job. Every time I have applied at jobs it usually ends with 'we went with a different candidate.' Sometimes it takes eight to nine months to actually get hired for me. I wouldn't be too happy if I were to be jobless.” “I see why you don't like staying at a job too long, the fear of being kicked out is understandable. Just try to keep yourself in check with guests from now on. And no more fainting. I understand it's your first real day on your own, and your first guest is of course your celebrity crush, but tomorrow try to be a little less nervous.” Gabby nodded, accepting his terms, and in a flash, she seemed to fly out the door to the wardrobe and leave her clothes with the laundry girls; clocking out for the night.  Finally leaving the resort, she was about to leave Sean a text, but found he had already sent her one which made her smile. SM: Missing you (heart emoji) (sad face) (kiss) GR: Be patient, you won't have to miss me too much longer. I just need to get some stuff ready and pick out a hotel/motel to stay at. I will need to tell you how my conversation went with my boss. SM: Well hurry it up. I am getting restless, and why did your boss still feel the need to talk to you? (curious emoji) GR: You will have to be patient for that answer. And do not worry, I handled the situation delicately. I was even commended for it. When I am ready, I will contact you. But you will have to follow my directions to the letter. Get it? SM: Mmm, commanding?! I love it! GR: Sean... SM: Fine, got it! GR: GOOD! Now think of every naughty thing you want to do to me tonight to tide you over, okay? SM: Ooh starting already? But that's easy. GR: (eye roll) ttyvs. (hot kiss emoji) SM: Pant pant pant.  She literally rolled her eyes and looked for my car in the crowded employee parking lot. Finding the maroon and black Subaru Forrester waiting patiently for her, sometimes she wished she could afford a PT Cruiser or a '34 Packard but right now she was just grateful to have a vehicle at all.
