Chapter 23

Vin's Pov "W-What?" I asked. He smirked. "Nothing. You can go home now. I'll pick you up later at ten." He said that and sat again at the table. "Excuse me? I won't come with you. I have my own schedule." I said, but he just rolled his eyes at me. "You'll come with me, Vin." He said like he was really sure. This man thinks that he can get all of what he wants. "Dream on." I firmly emphasize. Before I went out of his pad, I looked back at him and raised my middle finger. He looked so shocked until he burst into laughter again. Assh*ole. Even after I arrived at our home, I was still pissed. He should bring that Honey instead of me. "Vin..." I thought I was hallucinating when I saw Hendrix in our doorway. But when he stepped once again, I knew he was real. Who would have thought that he would come into our house early in the morning? Yes, he drove himself in front of our house but I still haven't imagine him walking in our front yard and entering our house. He didn't do that before. I was astonished for a moment before I smiled a bit and went to him. "G-Good morning...why are you here?" He licked his lips and said, "I want to grab breakfast with you, but...you aren't replying to my messages, so I went here. But your mom said you aren't here too." He stepped again, and it makes me really nervous. "Where did you sleep?" I swallowed hard. How should I explain this to him? I don't even know if it's right to tell him the truth. "Uh...m-my phone was low batt so...I couldn't check my inbox..." I am sweating with coldness so bad. I couldn't even stare at him. It would only last for two seconds. I'm f*cked up. "Then where did you sleep? Who did you sleep with?" He asked again, and this time he was really serious and critical. His eyes were like telling me a, one wrong answer and I am dead. "Vin, answer me." Sh*t! This is Felix's damn fault! I wouldn't be struggling now with words for acceptable reasons if he hadn't brought me to his pad! I wouldn't feel this damn guilt! "I-I just--" "Vin?Oh you're already here?" My mom suddenly appeared with a plate of lasagna on her hands. She looked at me, then at Hendrix. "Oh? Hendrix, I thought you had already left. You still haven't tasted my special lasagna. I cooked this for you. Come on, come here inside, both of you." She really doesn't know where and when she should appear. But I guess I should thank her this time. She saved me. She grabbed Hendrix's arms and brought him to the dining table again. Hendrix glanced at me, and I just diverted my gaze. I still don't know what to say to him. "Dad, your daughter is already here." My great mother said to my father that was sipping on his coffee. He looked at me, then at Hendrix too. What's wrong with this old couple? They're making me feel more guilty. "Where did you go?" he asked in his usual tone. Stern and serious. I sat on the chair beside Hedrix. I didn't look at him, but I could feel his stare at me. I cleared my throat and focused my eyes on the table. Before I raised my eyes at my parents. "I-I..." I couldn't continue. I don't know what to say! I'm not a good liar, for pete's sake! "Maybe sleepover?" Mom butted in. She smiled a bit at me, but I don't like that kind of smile. Her smile grew when she looked at Hendrix. "She likes to sleepover with her friends. She does it several times without messaging us and comes back home, early in the morning, so we are already used to it. I'm sorry, hijo, I forgot to tell it to you." She explained. Hendrix smiled at her before glancing at me and saying, "Then I understand." I bit my lips and looked down at my plate. You're really dead, Vin! You. Are. F*cking.Dead. My father sighed. "Your boyfriend waited for you, Vin. You should apologize to him." I looked at him in just a split second. Jaw dropped and wide-eyed. "H-Huh?" But my father just gave me an I'm-f*cking-serious-look. "I already told them Vin..." Hendrix said. "H-Huh?" I pointed my parents. "Y-You told them about...our relationship?" I asked in shock. He chuckled a bit. "Why you look so shock? Don't you want me to tell them?" He asked. And I don't know if it's real, but he sounds sarcastic. "O-Of course we would tell them, but you didn't tell this to me beforehand...you should at least inform me first." I answered. "W-Wait...wait, are you two fighting?" My mother damn asked. "We're not mom." She looked at me then to Hendrix. Before she gazed to dad. My father sighed, "You should talk later. A relationship without cooperation and trust won't last." He intertwined his fingers with hers after his deep words. Then he said next, "For now, let's eat lasagna." But I couldn't eat properly. How can I eat when Hendrix is just beside me, glancing at me every now and then? "I think we need to set up a dinner or brunch with your brother and mother, right Hendrix?" Mommy said it excitedly. She couldn't erase her big smiles while looking at Hendrix, but when her eyes would land on me, she would winch at me. "Oh, surely, ma'am—" she cut Hendrix's words. "No, no, no. Don't call me like that. My daughter is your girlfriend, so you should address me as mommy as well--" "Mom!" I hissed in a heated voice. Damn her, she's making me so embarrassed! Dad chuckled while Hendrix looked at us with confusion. "W-What? Is there a problem with that? You both have a relationship, and it's weird for me to still be addressed as ma'am when he can call me mommy too." She reasoned it out. I glared at her, but she just rolled her eyes at me. "By the way, Hendrix. Does your family already know about your relationship with my daughter?" Dad asked. I sipped on my juice and waited for Hendrix's answer. He coughed fakely, "I have not yet tell it to them since I want to tell it with... her." My eyes went to him in amazement. He smiled at me. "Can you help me, Vin?" He asked in a gentle voice.
