CH.8 New Home

Jason POV.

I leave the new compound for only a few hours with my father and our scientist to find out that the stupid Shadow pack came and destroyed everything. They took all the new she wolfs back to their pack including my beautiful Luna. If only I had marked and mated with her when I had the chance, she would be here in my home warming my bed.

My father and I may be rogues but we made enough for ourselves to buy a pack house for our pack of rogues. We never bring anyone to our pack house unless they prove their loyalty and swear their allegiance to me. I am the current Alpha of the rogue pack. My father may be around, but he had become to old and weak to continue his reign. Our main cash flow was the selling of she-wolfs in the black market. The new serum that we concocted was made from the blood of the current king with a hint of other herbs. We had more success with this serum than just biting the females. The females that were bitten did not last long since they were sired by me and every new one, I would bite, the last one would die. This serum made the females transition quicker and the sire bond nonexistent.

Now I regret not biting my beautiful little pet, then there would be a bond that forced her to stay by my side. I guess I was just hoping that the serum would make her a stronger wolf giving me stronger pups heirs. We would have made beautiful pups. She was exquisite. I must get her back. I am not ready to let her go. She is mine, I picked her up specifically for my pleasure.

We have more compounds spread across the country keeping the cash flowing. I have recruited more rogues and still building an army to take over the Shadow pack and then the whole werewolf kingdom. I will be king someday and have my Luna queen rule beside me.

Annabelle POV.

I woke up to the sounds of whispers. I sensed Colten still in the room which means that I am safe, or at least safer. I slowly sit up and see Colten’s back faced me. There was Dorthey and Rick summers, but then there were two other people that looked my age. And they were holding hands, so most likely another mated couple. It was hard to get a good look at them with Colten in the way.

“I said no, let me be at peace with my mate for a while longer. And can’t we discuss this outside…” He was whisper yelling at them.

“Colten?” I whispered confused at the scene in front of me. Suddenly he turns and bursts into a dazzling smile. I could get used to waking up with that smile on his face every day. Wait, What?

“Good morning little one, I am so sorry if they disturbed your sleep…” He turned his head and let out a low growl, “They were just leaving.” He huffed.

“It’s ok Colten, I am ok…,” I cleared my throat and sat up and tried to compose myself. I did not want to feel weak and scared anymore. I look at Colten with a soft smile for assurance that I am ok. He smiles and nods. Then His mom dashes to my side gives me a small side hug and kisses the top of my head. I smile more enjoying the motherly warmth that she is giving me.

“Good morning Bell, how was your sleep? Peaceful, I hope? Well I hope that you are well rested because its time to go shopping with the ladies.” She says I look up at her confused and she just gives me a teasing look.

“Um… I don’t have any other cloths to wear…and I don’t have any money…” I began to say when she held her hand up and I paused.

“We will have none of that now dear. Its my treat and Angelica there has spare cloths for you, plus she is coming with us. Girls day!” I look to the other girl in the room. She was beautiful. She was like a petite supper model with blonde hair and sparkling cobalt eyes. She looked so excited and bubbly as she gave me a quick energetic wave and a gleaming smile. She was holding hands with a familiar looking guy. It took me a second, but I recognize him as one of the men that was with Colten when they rescued me. The beta I think, so that would make her the beta female since they are a mated couple.

“No, she is eating breakfast and I am giving her a tour of the pack house and surrounding land.” Colten protested. He looked like a cute toddler throwing a tantrum because someone took his favorite toy. I could not help but giggle at him, which made the room laugh. “What is so funny?” He was getting frustrated.

“Oh son, you are so adorable when you pout and don’t get your way. Especially towards your mate. Now she need time to adjust, and what better way that a girl’s day with me and Angelica.” Dorthey said.

“Can you blame me for wanting to be with my mate.” Colten stated. He then looks at me with pleading eyes. “Bell, what do you want to do?” he asked. I was baffled he asked me what I thought, that was mighty considerate of him. He was treating me as his equal with rights of my own. It made me fall just a little be more for him.

“Um, I guess I do need cloths and essentials. But I just don’t want to step on anyone’s toes.” Before I could stutter further Dorthey interjects. “Well there you have it, she is having girl’s day.” She said with pride. I saw Colten’s posture deflate.

“Ok, but I want her back by lunch, and you are taking four guards with you. This is non-negotiable.” He commanded. I hear a squeal behind him and see Angelica clapping her hands together and jumping up and down. I look back at Colten.

“Sorry Bell, I don’t know if you remember my Beta here Sean. And next to him is his mate Angelica.” He introduced them and I glanced to them and gave them a small smile. They seemed to look trustworthy enough. I do get a comfortable feeling from them.

“Hello, it is nice to meet you.” I mustered up the courage to say. Angelica started to approach me like an energizer bunny when Colten blocked her.

“She still needs to eat Breakfast so let her have at least some more peace before you whisk her away.” Colten told everyone.

“Colten, my boy, that is one pathetic excuse to get some more alone time with your mate.” Rick, his father said. And Everyone burst out laughing at his shocked looked, like he was a fish out of water. I even found it funny and cute, could not help but chuckle with them. They all straightened up, some wiped tears off their faces and made their way out still amused chuckling. Then Colten and I were alone again. He had a basket in his hand which I am assuming that its breakfast. Then I see his face as if it was hurt. I felt bad, did I hurt him? I didn’t mean to hurt him. I was feeling uncomfortable and started fidgeting with the blanket.

“I am sorry if I upset you.” I softly say and look down at my lap. I hear him sigh and walk and sit at my bedside. He takes my chin in between his thumb and figure and gently lifted my head to look at him. He had a guilty look.

“There is nothing you need to apologize for. It is me who wants to keep you all to myself. I will try to tone down my possessiveness. Just please hurry back to me, I am going to miss you terribly. Now let’s take our time eating and getting ready. There is a duffle bag with cloths and toiletries at your disposal.” He said and I saw the sparkle in his eyes. I nod and let him serve me breakfast.

It was nice and pleasant talking to him, it almost felt natural like we had been together longer than a day. After eating, which he constantly reminded me to eat slower, shameless I know. I finally was able to walk to the bathroom and take a quick shower. Well it wasn’t so quick because I enjoyed the hot water rinsing all the filth that I had to deal with at the compound. I was so happy to see my favorite lavender and honey shampoo and conditioner in duffle bag. It even had a brand-new shaver which I was in desperate need of. After the heavenly shower, I rubbed lotion on my body and put on the black t shirt and light denum skinny jeans. I was happy to see that everything fit me perfectly, even the undergarments. I finally put on some black and white vans and walk out to see Colten with Dorthey and Angelica.

“Ready to head out dear, and not to worry, we will take care of everything.” She said warmly and I smiled and nodded. Colten came to me and gave me a bear hug dipping his face in the crock of my neck. I heard him inhale deeply.

“Be safe and please hurry back to me.” He took another deep breath. “I miss you already.” I could not help but enjoy the tingles that spread all along my body. I am intoxicated by his scent. This closeness felt amazing and right. I hugged right back caving into his embrace.

“I will.” Was all I said. I could not help but rub my cheek along his chest hearing a low rumble escape him. I am sure he is enjoying this closeness even more than I am.

“Ok you two, we will be back in a few hours, not days.” Angelica teases. We break away and smile at each other. Then both ladies come and wrap their arms in mine and escort me out. I look back and see Colten right behind still blasting his perfect smile. I can’t believe how comfortable and dependent I feel towards him. It is almost unnatural how strong these feels are, but then again I never thought that werewolves existed either. Outside the hospital was a parade of black heavily tinted SUV’s with four men dressed in just plain black t shirts and dark jeans with combat boots. They almost look like a professional mercenary team then just regular security. I guess all werewolves are natural muscular and ready for battle. Then I see Beta Sean approach Angelica, he sweeps her off her feet and gives her a passionate kiss.

“Be careful ok love.” He says and she just rolls her eyes.

“I will, don’t worry. I am sure we will be back sooner than later considering Colten will be anxious to have his Luna back.” She giggled and Sean lets her go.

“Ok ladies your chariot awaits.” Sean jokes and opens the middle SUV for the ladies to hope in. Angelica and Dorthey are the first to enter. As I was about to climb in I felt an arm wrap around my waist pulling me back into a strong chest.

“Be safe, and stay close to them ok, I am going to miss you terribly.” Colten Whispers into my ear which got my all hot and bothered, goosebumps running down my back. His whispers triggered a desire deep in my gut. I nod and turn my head to the side and whisper back, “I’ll be back, I promise.” He kisses my temple and helps me into the SUV. I was about to put my seatbelt on when he snatched it and buckled it for me.

“You know I am better now and can do these simple things again.” I say in a sarcastic tone.

“Well It eases my mind and heart.” He says and winks at me which makes me blush and look away. He smiles and closes the door. Our SUV drives off with another one right behind.

“This feels like we are being escorted by the secret service.” I begin to say to the ladies.

“Well because we are the most important members of the pack. The Luna, Beta female and Delta female are the heart of the pack. Without them the Alpha, Beta and Delta can not function.” Dorthey began to say.

“Yea I remember it was hard for me to adjust to this role. I am a warrior and help train the females, but when I head out of the pack Sean makes sure I have at least one guard with me. It puts his mind at ease knowing that I am not alone to defend myself. I had to accept it if I wanted to have a little freedom from him.” She giggled the last part and I felt content. I do feel it now that Angelica and I were going to be the best of friends.

“So, you are a warrior?” I asked her.

“Yes, both my parents were warriors, all 4 of my older brothers and I followed in their footsteps. I was originally part of the Crescent pack until I came here with one of my older brothers for a training camp. That is when I met Sean and the rest is history. Now I am here with the love of my life.” She said and if this was a cartoon, I am sure I would see hearts popping up around her.

“So, if you don’t mind me asking how old are you Angelica? You seem more mature than me.” I ask.

“I just turned 19 a couple months ago.” She smiled.

“Wow does everyone gain so much responsibility this young. I feel like I am still a child with no life experience.” I say feeling inadequate.

“Bell, werewolves mature earlier than humans do. We are trained young and thus inheriting our responsibilities in the pack young.” Dorthey says. I nod still feeling self-conscious. 

“Annabelle don’t feel like you are not good enough to be Luna. The moon goddess chose you to be Colten’s mate for a reason. We werewolves understand how sacred the mating bond is.” Angelica said.

“And besides you have me, your new mom, and Angelica here to help you and teach you along the way.” Dorthey said. I smile.

“Thank you, its been a while since I had this kind of support. And Angelica please call me Bell.” I smile softly at them. I turn and watch the scenery pass.

We got to the mall which was smaller than the ones that you would normally see in a big city. But it had every brand known imaginable despite still being in pack lands. I was being lugged from one store to the other. There were always two guards close to us and two guarding the entrance of whatever store we were in. After three hours of shopping for cloths and essentials I was exhausted. I had never shopped like this before. Dorthey let me pick whatever I wanted and told me not to worry about money. I did not want to go overboard and let them waste money on me so when I would go up to the checkout counter with only a few items, Dorthey and Angelica would come up behind me with more stuff for me. They ignored my protest and insisted since I am part of their family now.

“Is there anything else you need dear bell?” Dorthey asked. I immediately shook my head. Then my stomach rumbled and they both laughed.

“I guess we should stop and feed the Luna before we head back. Colten would be upset if she came back starving.” Angelica giggled.

“But Colten wanted us back by lunch. I am sure I can wait until then. I would not want to upset him.” I say.

“Pish posh, my son can wait. Let’s go to the food court and pick up a snack.” Dorthey said and Angelica and I followed. We sat comfortably in a booth while one of the guards went and got us some sandwiches from Jersey mikes. Dorthey and Angelica were telling me more stories of Colten and Sean. We were laughing at all the antics that they were up to growing up. I was wiping away a tear from laughing so hard when I felt like someone was staring at me. I look around and caught no one. I tried to shake off the feeling, but its just pestered. We were eating our sandwiches when I saw Angelica’s eyes cloud over. It was freaky to watch until Dorthey saw my reaction and explained that she is mind linking someone. I still felt uneasy.

“Are you alright dear, you seemed worried.” Dorthey asked.

“I don’t know how to explain it, but I feel uneasy, like someone is watching, or something bad is going to happen.” I begin to say. “I am sorry that I am becoming a party pooper.”

“Bell, there is no reason to apologize, sometimes its those gut feelings that keep us safe. We will be vigilant now.” Dorthey says and I nod. I felt a little bit more comfortable.

“I suppose, or maybe I am just tired.” I say.

“Well that was Sean and he said to come home immediately, I guess we have been out for too long.” Angelica states. I nod and we all make our way back to the SUV’s with the guards carrying all the shopping bags.

As we were driving back, I was given the middle seat and Dorthey let me rest my head on her shoulder. I could not help but doze off, Dorthey was just so warm and comforting. I felt like I had a mom again.
