CH.9 Attack

Annabelle POV

I woke up at the sudden breaking of the car. I look up and see that ahead of us were a group men and wolves. But they all had red eyes and instantly my body started to tremble in fear.

“Stay here ladies, the Alpha is on his way.” The guard that was driving informed us. Dorthey held me tight knowing that I was scared and trembling.

“Everything is going to be ok dear, trust us.” She softly said and all I could do was nod trying to calm myself down. I trust these people now, and I am not as weak as I once was.

‘That’s right love, you have me now and I know that together we can kick their ass.’ My wolf ebony said which brighten my mood. I can do this. There was this newfound courage that I never knew I had. Suddenly, I felt powerful and bold. 

Then I saw that the group ahead of us was charging at us. The four guards exited their SUV’s and shifted into their wolves. Dorthey, Angelica and I were left in the SUV with the doors locked. I saw them attack each other and blood splatting everywhere. Then there were more rogue wolves coming at us from the side and began to claw at our car. Dorthey and Angelica face them as if ready to fight. I hear a wolf howl out in pain and see one of the guards fall.

“We have to fight back”. I say.

“No stay in the car, your safety is more important.” Angelica said.

“They need help!” I yell. Then the back window and side windows break. All three of us are being dragged out by rogues in their human form. I glance at Dorthey and Angelica as they fight back. I am being dragged by two rogues laughing that they got me. That is when I twisted my arms to break free from their grasp. I give one a right hook and the other I swung my leg kicking him. They both fly into a tree and fall on the floor groaning in pain. I then see four more rouges coming to attack me. I sidestep the first attacker elbowing him in the head making him fall on the ground. Then the second I block his punch and start using my combos on him knocking him out. The Third I jabbed at the throat making him gasp for air as I kick him in the gut and then on the face. The fourth grabbed me from behind holding my arms down. I headbutt him and stomp his foot making him release me. I quickly turn and throw combos at him. I was so glade that my father trained me; I am not so helpless now. The last rogue falls and I stand there is my defensive position and look around for more rogues. Instead of more rogues I am surrounded by familiar faces staring at me in awe.

Colten POV

After Bell left to go shopping with the ladies, I made my way back to the pack house and into my office to work on some paperwork that has been long pending. It was hard to stay focused when my thoughts would drift of to my beautiful mate. I have turned into such a lovesick pup. I miss her already and its only been a few hours. Still her emerald eyes keep capturing me. I felt like the luckiest guy in the world to have such a beautiful mate. But she is not just beautiful, she is pure, and innocent, and caring. I could tell that there wasn’t an evil bone on her perfect body. He had a heart of gold.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Come in.” I say. In walks Sean and makes his way to sit in one of the chairs opposites from me.

“So, get any work done?” He asked I just shake my head. He is my best friend and knows me all too well. “Yup, figured as much, can’t take the Luna off your mind.” He teases with a smirk on his face.

“Ha, yea, … something like that. I just can’t help it. She is perfect. You know how long I have been waiting for my mate and now that she is here, I just don’t want to let her go.” I say. Sean chuckles and nods shakes his head.

“I understand, but you have to finish this paperwork. I am not going to let you take another two days off just to galivant with your mate and leave me with all the work.” He shakes his finger at me, and I just smile and nod at him.

“Well its lunch time and the ladies should be back soon.” We both get up and head down to the dining hall. I sniff the air in search of my mate and nothing. I look at Sean and he too can not find his mate. “Did they come back yet?” I ask him. I see him immediately mind link someone.

“They stopped and got some food and rest because the Luna was getting tired. They will be heading out soon after.” He told me and I just nod and proceed to the dinning hall where more pack members were already eating their food. Sean and I grabbed only a half portion because we wanted to eat with our mates when they came back. Then my heart dropped when I hear one of their guards say that they are being attacked by rogues. Sean and I dashed to their location with a few warriors trailing behind us, all of us shifted into our wolves. I know that Sean mind linked them and the border patrol. We raced through the forest dodging every obstacle. I was pushing my wolf, Devil, as fast as I could to get to Bell. I promised her that she will never get hurt again and I am hell bent on keeping that promise.

We finally get to the caravan and I scan the area for my mate. I saw the guards, my mom, and Angelica fighting, but no Bell. I catch her scent and it is away from this battle. The warriors jump in and fight, while I follow my mates’ scent. Further into the tree line I see more rogues attacking but being thrown against trees. I get closer when the scene in front of me took me completely by surprise.  

There was my beautiful Bell fighting. She was truly a sight. I saw her expertly block and attack the rogues as if it was a graceful dance. She was inflicting damage on them without even getting a scratch. There was one rogue left that grabbed her from behind. I was enraged that he was touching her and as I was about to help her when I saw her headbutt him and force him to release her. She turned and gave him a right, left hook combo finishing off with a few kicks and the rogue fell. She did not kill one, but all six rogues were unconscious on the ground. She did all this too without shifting. If she wasn’t perfect already, now she is just at a whole new level of perfection. 

She looks up at me and them behind me. I just strut towards her, not minding the crowd that formed, and embrace her in my arms putting my head in the crock of her neck inhaling deeply.

“Are you alright little one?” I ask her.

“Yes, I am ok” She whispered back still panting. I look down at her and see her big doe eyes looking back at me. I kiss her forehead and smile.

“Did you fight them all by yourself?” I ask sternly. She looked scared for a moment and nodded.

“You’re not angry with me?” She asked. I instantly felt guilty for my tone, I did not want her to feel that she was at fault or scared of me.

“No little one, I can never be mad at you. I was just so worried and scared for you. But I was shocked to see you take on all those rogues all by yourself. Why didn’t you tell me that you can fight like that? Where did you learn to fight?” I asked.

“My father had me train in mixed martial arts growing up. He believed that a woman should learn how to defend themselves. I guess it was more to ease his worry about me.” She said which made me gleam with pride. I saw her smile back at me and again I was lost in her beauty. We heard someone clear their throat and we turn to see everyone looking at us.

“She is definitely the perfect Luna for us.” Angelica states with a cheerful smile.

“Dear Bell, I am so proud of you.” Dorthey says and I hear her giggle. I guess she found our shocked faces funny to her. 

“Colten, um… I recognize that one rogue,” she points to one of the rogues she fought, “He was at the compound guarding one time when Jason use to take me out to shift.” She says. I motion my warriors to take them away. I will have fun torturing them, they will think twice before attacking and attempting to kidnap my Luna.

“Lets all head back to eat and rest.” I say to everyone. I made sure that Bell was with me in the same car going back to the pack house. I could not bare to leave her side now, especially after that attack. These stupid rogues want her desperately to attack within my territory. I must make sure to double the border patrol; I don’t want another repeat of today. I pull my mate to sit on my lap and dip my nose in her hair. Her scent instantly calms me. I’m surprised that she let me. She must be accepting her new life more and more. I felt her rub her check against my chest and fall to sleep. I am so content with her in my arms, even more now that she trusts me enough to just fall asleep peacefully. If only she knew that she has my heart and I would do anything for her.

Annabelle POV.

I know that I was exhausted from all that shopping and fighting. I did not resist Colten when he made me sit in his lap on the drive back. I know without a doubt that I am safest in his arms. Its hard to explain, but when I am in his embrace the whole world disappears and it its just the two of us. Comfort and warmth are all I feel, maybe even love. I know that this is so soon, but I feel whole and at peace with Colten. Is it possible to fall in love with him so fast? I still hardly know him. The security and comfort I feel with him can not be denied.

Lost in my thoughts I had not realized that I doze off until I felt a small nudge and soft voice telling me to wake up. I stretch my upper body and groggily look around at my surroundings. We were still in the car, but we are parked. I look out and see a huge white looking mansion. Heck it looked just as grand as the White house. Colten helps me climb out of the SUV and takes my hand in his.

“Welcome to the pack house, your new home.” He says with a bright smile on his face. I smile back and he escorts me in.

“I really want you to feel at home here, everything and anything will be given to you, you just need to ask. The first floor is where the Kitchen, Dining Hall, Library, game room, theater, and various living rooms are, every pack member can roam the first floor. The second floor is for omegas that work in the house, the third floor is all guestrooms, fourth floor is where the Beta and Delta live with their families and personal offices. The fifth floor is our floor. Only the Alpha and family live there with our personal offices. Yes, you have an office to do whatever you want in.” He said as we made our way down the hall passing two sitting rooms and the kitchen. We get into the dinning hall and It was huge. There were so many tables and chairs and a large buffet table on the side.

“Are you hungry little one? We can eat before I give you the grand tour.” Colten asks

“I am a little hungry.” I shyly said and he smiled and nodded. He brought me to a long table located at the end of the hall that was on top of a small platform. It looks like it’s the head table where only the higher ranks sit. Colten pulls out the chair for me and I sit. Sean and Angelica come not to far behind and join us. When we were all seated a couple of ladies come and serve us our lunch. I did notice that one was flaunting her goods at Colten desperately trying to flirt with him.

“Will that be all Alpha.” She said in a seductive tone while placing a hand on his shoulder which I did not like. I stare daggers at her and let out a low growl. Colten snaps his had at me and smiles. Did that growl come from me? Either way I was feeling extremely possessive.

‘That’s right, he is our mate and that slutty b***h should keep her hands off. I want to kill her.’ Ebony growled in my head. I just took a deep breath to calm her down.

“Yes Janel, that will be all.” He said not breaking eye contact with me. He took my hand into his and kissed it in front of her. I did not take my site of this Janel as she walk away with an evil smirk on her face. There is something off with her and I don’t like it. “Bell love, don’t mind her, she is nothing to me.” He whispers into my ear making me calm down. Goodness his voice makes me weak and full of desire. It’s like he knew how he affects me. I just nod and start eating. The food here was beyond words. They served me lemon pepper chicken with a side of roasted potatoes and balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts. If the food is always this good, then I am in Heaven. 

It took us a while to finish our lunch since Sean and Colten were sharing stories of them growing up. It was fun as we laughed at their teenage ideocracies. Colten reminded me so much of Greg when we were children. I surprised myself when I didn’t feel any pain thinking of Greg. As if my mourning period for him was done and I can move on. I felt at peace finally, like this is where I am meant to be.

‘Because you are Bell dear. The moon goddess blessed you. Life will always have its challenges, but we are not doing it alone, we have our new family to help us.’

‘Ok Ebony, I believe you. I am so thankful to have you; I think I would go insane without you. I guess two brains is better than one.’ I smile to myself.

‘Feeling is mutual sweetie.’

‘Can I really trust them? I value your opinion’ I ask her.

‘Yes’ she says, and I can feel her wagging her tail. Which makes me smile bigger. I am really liking being a werewolf now if it means I have a best friend in my head. I spent the last few years of my life with only two significant people, Greg and Mrs. Betty. Now I have Colten, his parents, Angelica and Sean all welcoming me with open arms and a feeling of being home.

I was brought out of my thoughts when I felt a small squeeze of my hand and sparks bursting beneath my skin. I look up to see Colten’s gorgeous face with the brightest smile I had ever seen. His eyes were glowing. “Lost in thought, or talking to your wolf?” He asked.

“Both.” I blushed.

“Devil and I can’t wait to meet her. Have you shifted yet?” I shake my head no. I really can’t trust my voice right now. “Would you like to try tonight, that is, if you are up for it?”

‘we need to wait until the lunar eclipse to shift, trust me.’ Ebony interjected.

“Um, my wolf said we had to wait until the lunar eclipse.” I nervously say.

“Well that’s great, the lunar eclipse is tomorrow night, I guess we don’t have to wait long.” He said with so much excitement. I was so happy that I am the cause of it. “Well then we should throw a big BBQ tonight to celebrate the new pack members. The other she-wolves we found are rehabilitated and accepted to be part of this pack. How does that sound?” He asked me. I really love how thoughtful he was of my opinion. Wait! Did I saw love?

“That sounds great” I say.

“Goody I will get all the preparations done, don’t worry your pretty faces!” Angelica said and she grabbed Sean and dashed to get stuff started.

“Bell do you mind if we announce you as the future Luna, I know you are not ready for the mating and marking, but I want the pack to know that you are their future Luna. I want to world to know that you are mine and they should respect you as my mate.” He said with so much hope in his eyes. Why does he have to be so good looking and thoughtful.

“Yes, I would like that. I mean it is inevitable. And it’s not like I am going anywhere.” I ramble.

“Great!” I see his eyes could over for a second, “Just let Angelica know about your decision. Knowing her she is going to want to make it extra special for you.” He says and my eyes widen in shock. I don’t want to make a bigger deal of it and waste more on me.

“No, can we just do something simple, I don’t want it to be a spectacle just for me.” I plead.

“Not to worry little one, it’s not going to be anything big, just a BBQ to get to know everyone. Do you trust me?” He says and cups my face with his free hand keeping his other hand in mine. I whisper back “Yes”, and he nods in approval. Dam, anything this man does makes me weak and I am sure he knows it.

“Good now let me give you the grand tour before we get ready for the BBQ.” He said standing up and helping me out of my seat. He wrapped my hand around his forearm like a gentleman and started telling me about the history of this place and a few memories he had. It was so delightful, and I started feeling more and more at home. These people know how to make others feel so welcomed. 

This place was huge, the first floor was beaming with life as the pack members are allowed the roam freely around. There were a total of 20 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. There was an elevator, but we took the stairs for my better understanding. This place seemed easy to navigate through. As we approached the fifth floor Colten suddenly swooped me up and carried me the rest of the way.

“Colten, what are you doing?” I say in surprise.

“You looked tired and decided to carry you, besides I am practicing for the future.” He winks at me and I blush and look away. He knows the affects he has on me, and future? He is already thinking about our future. I mean, I guess that does sound nice having this delicious handsome gentleman in my future.

“So here is our room.” He said as he opened the last door in the hall. He walks in and kicks the door behind him. I look around and gasp at how extravagant it is. There was a huge King size bed at one end, the walls were painted a light shade of blue, there was a seating area with white cushioned couches, a large tv on the wall above the fireplace, and three sets of double doors on the other side of the room. Closer to the bed there were floor to ceiling French windows with double doors leading into an expansive balcony and more seating chairs. Colten set me on my feet to go explore. I was in awe with the grandness of it.   

“The doors on the far left is the bathroom, the ones in the middle is your closet and the ones on the right is my closet.” Colten pointed. I walk to the door to the far left and see a huge bathroom. There was a large jacuzzi tub, a walk-in waterfall shower next to it.  On the opposite side was a long countertop with two sinks and a long mirror. Everything was a cream color marble with clear glass shower doors for the shower. It was like a walking into heaven. I walk out and Colten motions for me to check the other doors. I rush to the other doors and it was huge. There were draws and lots of rods to hang cloths. There was a vanity with a nice cushion chair, and there was a body length mirror in the corner. This was not just a closet; this was a complete dressing room. This was maybe every girls dream. My mouth hung open in shock.

“The omegas already washed and put away all your cloths from your shopping trip. This closet looks a little too empty so we can go shopping another time to fill it up some more.” Colten says from behind me. I turn to him and smile letting a single tear fall from the intensity my emotions are giving me.

“This is too much Colten. I…” I began to say until he shushed me and cupped my face with both of his hands. I grab onto his writs and we just look deep into each other’s eyes.

“You are my soul mate; you are not just anybody to me. I want to make you happy; I want to see you smile all day every day. Everything I do, have done, was all for you. I love you Bell, even if its too soon for you to believe me.” He says and kisses my forehead. My heart swells with every word he spoke. He was truly turning into my knight in shinning armor, this felt like I was living a fantasy. This was all too good to be true.

‘Just take a leap of faith sweetie’ Ebony chimed in. She may be right. It has been a while since Greg, and the pain in my chest is no longer there. Instead it was filled with peace and… love. Colten within two days managed to fix my broken heart. He was my second chance at happiness, never once giving me any doubt.

“Your right Colten, its is very hard to believe so soon…” I began to say seeing the small hurt flash in his eyes. But continued, “but somehow I feel the same. I have felt loved before, but with you it is so much more intense. I want to feel guilty for feeling like this so soon after Greg. Instead I feel at peace. I don’t know if it’s the mate bond or how you have treated me since finding me, but you managed to fix my broken heart.” I say. It felt like a weight has been lifted saying those words. I have been resisting what my heart felt that when I finally let my walls down, I heard clearly what my heart wanted. It was beating hard and fast for him, my soul mate.

“You don’t know how happy you just made me Bell. Thank you.” He softly said.

“No, thank you for saving me Colten.” I say back. I glance down at his juicy plump lips, as if reading my mind Colten dives in for a kiss. It was soft and gentle; it was like feeling all his emotions in this one kiss. Yet it wasn’t hard and passionate making me feel rushed. It was perfect as fireworks exploded behind my closed eyes. We boke apart and gasped in unison, “wow”.

“I can get use to that.” Colten smirked as he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer. I placed my hands on his muscular chest feeling his chest rumble in delight. I was starting to feel very hot and bothered with this closeness. His touch, his scent, the recent taste of his lips made me crave him even more like a drug. I felt a deep desire in my gut as I clench my thighs together. My flower was aching, and my undies were soaking up my wetness. I felt Colten stiffen and inhale deeply.

“Little one, your arousal smells delightful.” He said in a deep husky voice which only turned me on more. He let go and gave us some space. I saw his eyes glowing before he blinked back to his normal color.

“I’m sorry.” I say feeling embarrassed. It was so hard to control my body from him. It’s like it had a mind of its own. Dam, why does he have to be so hot and sexy?

“It’s natural Bell. You don’t need to apologize. I am glade that your body is reacting to mine. I just don’t want you to feel rushed. I can wait until you are ready.” He smiles and breaths. I can tell that he was holding himself back and I was even more grateful for him. “Why don’t you go take a relaxing bath and get ready, you have an hour until the BBQ.” He said and I nodded.

I just decided to take a nice long shower and change into a maroon long sleeve skater dress and my black ankle boots. I put on mascara and lip balm and left my hair loose and straight. I always love how voluptuous my hair was. I walk out of my closet to find Colten already showered and dressed in a plain black t with dark jeans and converse on. His thick black hair was still damp which only highlighted his gorgeous features some more. I licked my lips ogling him. I then see him smirk.

“Like what you see little one.” He says and I turn and blush. I hear him chuckle and get up from the couch and walk towards me. “Don’t be shy little one, its all yours whenever you want.” I bashfully smile and nod. This man is going to be the death of me. “So, ready to go love, you look beautiful by the way?” He says, I nod and say yes in return. He pecks me on the lips and takes my hand as he escorts me to where the BBQ is going to be.
