CH.10 BBQ Welcome

Colten POV

I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it. After the Janel incident I knew that she was starting to develop feelings for me. Seeing her take her claim on me in front of everyone was a dream come true. I know now that she will not reject me and leave me. It is only a matter of time before I win her heart, the bond is strong between us. Giving her the tour of the pack house, her new home, was so much fun. I saw her eyes sparkle with every story and explanation I told her. I knew by the time we got to our floor she would be tired. It was evident in her posture. I took a chance to carry her in my arm, something I hope to do as often in our relationship. Her reaction was so adorable. When I finally brought her to our room, I saw the astonishment in her face. I know that she was not raised with such luxuries, but I plan on changing that. She is my queen and I plan on giving her the world. When I saw the baffled look on her face after showing her closet, I was happy. She was so humble and caring. How lucky am I to have just a good gracious mate?

I was shocked when we kissed, our first kiss. It felt amazing. Like a dream come true. She loves me, even though she did not say those exact words, she still acknowledges her strong feelings for me. Deep down I know she loves me, and she is just taking her time. I understand that we both want to set a good foundation in our new relationship.

When she walked out of her closet ready for the BBQ my jaw dropped. I quickly shut it trying not to make a fool of myself. She was exquisite, that purple dress covered up well, but not well enough. It still showed her magnificent curves, her flat tummy, and her long legs. It was conservative enough, but I knew that it was going to be hard keeping other males from looking at her with lust. I caught her ogling and decided to tease her. I love watching her blush.

As we were making our way to the elevator when I felt her start to shake. She must be nervous to meet the pack. I squeeze her hand and give her a comforting smile. When we finally made it through the house to the back yard, I reassured Bell one more time that there was nothing to worry about and that I would not leave her side. She seemed to calm down as she nodded her head giving me a soft smile. We walk out into the balcony, which acts as our stage. The pack was all scatter around the large field talking and catching up. The crowd goes silent and turn to face us. My parents, Sean and Angelica were with us on the balcony.

“Shadow Pack, thank you all for coming tonight. This BBQ we are having is in honor of our new pack members. We have been blessed with 4 new pack members. Please make them feel at home.” I began to say and motion for the newcomers to approach while I initiated them into the pack. After performing the ritual to the 3 she-wolves we saved I turn back to the crowd. “Shadow pack, I also would like to announce that I have found my mate and your future Luna, Miss Annabelle Duncan.” The pack cheer while I took Bell’s hand and showed her to the pack. Then I begin the ritual with her.

“Miss Annabelle Duncan do you hear by accept to be a member of the shadow pack, care for and protect until your last breath.” I say.

“I swear to do so.” She says with a smile and I smile back at her while I cut my palm and her and intertwine our blood forming the link with the pack. She staggered a little and I immediately wrapped my arm around her wait holding her up. “Wow that was intense.” She said holding her palm against her temple.

“That’s the pack link, you can now mind link anyone from the pack little one.” I say and she smiles understandingly.

We all went to the buffet table and grab our food and sat down at the head table eating and talking about whatever with my parents, Sean, and Angelica. I can see that Bell was having a good time. After we ate, I walk around with her to meet some of the pack members. I kept my hand around her waist not letting go for a second. I loved watching her interact with the pack, she was a natural. I could see the pack swell with pride over their new Luna. She was not only beautiful, but caring, modest, and playful. She even had the pups trailing her begging her to play and tell jokes, she was great with them. The gathering was drizzling down to just a few pack members. Bell got to know the rest of the survivors and wanted to start a support group to coupe. I thought is was a fantastic idea. Already she is taking this leadership role head strong. She is such pure perfection.

Darkness fell over the field and the stars popped out as we still were outside enjoying our company. I notice Bell yawn and rub her hands over her eyes like a kitten.

“Bell love, are you tired? We can go back to the room if you like?” I ask her and she passes me a tired smile which make me chuckle.

“Hm yea, I am feeling a bit tired.” She says behind her exhausted tone. I stand up and before she has a chance to stand, I swoop her up into my arms and carry her bridal style.

“Goodnight everyone, it is time for our Luna to get her beauty sleep.” I say to everyone. “Goodnight everyone.” Bell waves at them. “Colten you know that I can walk back, you don’t have to carry me. I am not too tired to walk.” She said.

“Bell let me; you are technically still recovering. Plus, I have been wanting to carry my mate around like this all my life. Let me indulge.” I say and wink at her. She just shakes her head and relaxes in my embrace. That’s right little one cave in and let me love you.

Annabelle POV.

We get into the bedroom, and he kicks the door behind him. He sets me down gently on my feet keeping me in his embrace.

“Why don’t you get ready for bed first, I can wait.” Colten whispered. I felt a shiver run down my spine from his sexy voice. I was feeling hot and a burning desire to just take him to bed right now. His hot breath was on my neck. I was craving more of his touch. As I wrapped one arm around his neck and the other slowly gliding up and down his chest. He was rubbing both my hips with his hands, still blowing hot breath along my neck. Holy s**t was this erotic and we weren’t even naked yet. “Little one, we should stop before I lose the last bit of control I have.” Colten purrs which make me more aroused. I take the last bit of sanity I have and push myself off him. We both were panting starring at each other in bewilderment. I am sure that he was just as shocked as I was with our intense moment. We didn’t kiss, or rip each other’s cloths off, but it was intense.

“Um where am I going to sleep?” I shyly ask looking away from him knowing that my face was flushed.

“Here of course, but don’t worry I will sleep on the couch, you can sleep on the bed.” He says with a chivalrous smile. I felt myself melt from his gentle behavior.

“Are you sure, because I don’t mind taking the couch, I mean this is your room…” I started rambling. Colten takes me back into his embrace and places his forehead against mine.

“Relax little one. What kind of man would I be letting a lady sleep on the couch when I am in a comfortable bed? Not on my watch.” I chuckle at him and shake my head. I guess chivalry isn’t dead after all.

“Ok thank you.” I whisper.

“Anything for you my love.” He whispers back. Before I felt myself being pulled back into that burning desire for him, I pull away. I get up on my tippy toes and peck his cheek and run to the bathroom and lock the door. I was shocked with my display of affection. I quickly took a shower and wrapped a nice fluffy towel around me. I rubbed lotion all over my body, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. I forgot to bring in cloths with me to change and I dreaded going outside in just a towel. O well I must get my PJ’s one way or another. I slowly cracked open the door.

“Pst! Colten are you out there?” I asked and I heard him chuckle.

“Yes I am and waiting for you.” He said and I just rolled my eyes at him.

“Well do you mind not looking for a moment. I forgot to bring in my PJ’s” I asked, and I heard him chuckle again. Well Colten I am glade that my current dilemma amuses you.   

“Ok Little one I won’t look. You are clear.” He says. I poke out my head and sure enough his back was turned, and he held one hand over his eyes. I quickly dashed to my closet and closed the door. I let out a breath in relief. I put on fresh undies, booty shorts and crop top and walked out the door heading to bed. I looked and found that Colten had already gone to the bathroom to do his business. I tuck myself under the covers and try to sleep. I felt like I was laying in a cloud, this bed was so soft and comfortable. I heard the bathroom door open and close. I look up to see Colten already in some pajama pants with no shirt. Seeing his bare strong chest, perfectly sculpted abs, and defined arms almost made me drool. Colten was built like a Greek god. How can this perfect specimen be all mine?

“Like what you see little one?” Colten said taking me out of my trance. I threw the covers over my head covering my embarrassment. He clearly caught me shamelessly checking him out. I wish the earth could just swallow me now, this man is going to be the death of me.

I heard him shuffle around. Then the covers were snatch away from me and Colten was now hovering over me. I tried to slide out of the way creating some distance, the closeness of his body was making me hot all over again.

“Just grabbing a pillow little one.” He said and kissed my forehead. “Goodnight beautiful” He said. “Goodnight” I said back. He turned and made himself comfortable on the couch. I let myself finally drift off to sleep.
