Shadow Luna

CH.11

I wake up back in the grungy exam room back in the compound. I start to panic realizing that I am back in that hell hole. I turn my head to the side and Greg was laying next to me creasing my cheek.

“It’s ok my Bell. I am here.” He said with so much love in his eyes.

“No you don’t understand Greg this place is hell. We need to get out of here.” I say and sat up. He sits up with me and grabs both my hands in his.

“This is were we are meant to be my love.” He said and I start to shake my head.

“No, you don’t get it Greg, he will take me and hurt me again. He is going to take me away!” I start to panic.

“Bell, its ok.” He says. And then the door opens and in walks Jason with a menacing smile.

“Hello my little pet. Miss me.” My eyes widen in horror. “Thanks Greg, I will take it from here.” I look at Greg and he nods back at Jason. What is going on here? My mind is spinning trying to grasp what is going on.

“Greg, what are you doing?” I say, then Greg throws me down on the floor. I look up and both him and Jason are over me.

“NO! You can’t do this!” I scream.

“Oh, my beautiful pet. This is how it was meant to be.” Jason says and I just try to get up and run. I can’t let them hurt me anymore. I scream and thrash feeling someone grab me from the arms and shake me.

I open my eyes gasping for air. Colten is right in front of me looking worried as both his hands are on my arms. I guess he was the one that shook me awake.

“Bell are you ok?” He asked. I just shake my head no and start crying. He takes ahold of me and places me in his lap wrapping his big arms around my trembling body. “Ssshhh, its ok little one, I am here. Do you want to talk about the nightmare you just had?” I take deep breaths trying to steady my breathing. Colten’s tight embrace starts calming my shaking body.

“I woke up back in the compound.” I start to say as I try to hold back more sobbing. “Greg was there trying to calm me, but it wasn’t right. He kept saying that I was meant to be there. Then Jason showed up. Greg betrayed me and brought me back in the hands of that monster. I tried to run but they had a tight hold on me. Then I woke up.” I say and sob some more. “Please don’t let them take me back.” I say sobbing into Colten’s bare chest.

“I promise you Bell, no one will hurt you or take you away from me. You are safe here.” He rocks me and pets my hair. I knew he was telling me the truth, I already felt so much safer in his arms. “You seem a lot calmer, you want to go back to sleep?” He asks and I nod. But when he tried to let go of me I pull him back needing his closeness. “Please… please stay with me.” I ask feeling like a scared child needing her security blanket.

“Of course, Bell, let’s get comfortable and sleep, I am not going anywhere.” He says with a soft smile and I nod. We both lay down on the bed me in his embrace. I felt so at peace and secure like this that I didn’t realize how fast I fell asleep.

Colten POV

I was surprised with the small peck of the cheek that she gave me before running into the bathroom. I touched my warm cheek and smiled like a kid at Christmas. I was so happy that she was really warming up to me. Her reactions to everything I do was evident that there was strong feeling for me. She was trying to hold on to her reserve and failing miserably. I loved how her body reacted to mine, she doesn’t know that she has an equal effect on me. O how I wish that I could mark and mate her already, she is driving me wild. Devil keeps pestering me to mark her already, but she is so emotionally fragile right now. I could not hurt her, nor will I force her. She need time to heal, and I hope that my love is enough to heal her.

After bidding her goodnight and hearing her soft steady breathing I knew that I could fall asleep knowing that she is a peace comfortable in my bed, well our bed. It wasn’t until I heard whimpers and shuffling that I was alerted awake. I glance at the clock quickly seeing it was two in the morning. I walk over to Bell and see sweat beads on her forehead and frown lines. She was shaking. She was probably trapped in a nightmare. I sit next to her and I start to rub her arms and lightly shake her awake. She burst her eyes open, sat up looking right at me. I could see the fear in her eyes slowly vanish and recognition settle. Her heart was beating erratically, and she was shaking. My poor mate was scarred for her life trapped in that nightmare.

“Bell are you ok?” I ask. I placed her in my lap and held her tight. I knew that she just needed to feel safe and cared for right now. “Ssshhh, its ok little one, I am here. Do you want to talk about the nightmare you just had?” I felt her breath normalize still hiccupping from crying.   

“I woke up back in the compound.” She began and then took a deep breath. “Greg was there trying to calm me, but it wasn’t right. He kept saying that I was meant to be there. Then Jason showed up. Greg betrayed me and brought me back in the hands of that monster. I tried to run but they had a tight hold on me. Then I woke up.” She then began to sob hard. I just rocked her and held her close. “Please don’t let them take me back.” My poor mate was scared for her life. That f*****g rogue hurt her bad and all I want to do right now is f*****g kill that mutt for hurting my Bell. But instead of letting the furry of my anger take over, I had to focus on Bell. She needs me. “I promise you Bell, no one will hurt you or take you away from me. You are safe here.” I felt her relax and snuggle more in my arms, I just keep rocking her gently. “You seem a lot calmer, you want to go back to sleep?” I felt her nod. I gently pull away, but she doesn’t let go. She tightens her hold on me as if clutching onto her only lifeline. “Please… please stay with me.” I sigh feeling helpless, I wish I could take her fear and pain away.

“Of course, Bell, let’s get comfortable and sleep, I am not going anywhere.” I lay us both back down on the bed still holding her. She snuggles into my chest and I felt her slowly slip into dreamland. I felt content that I was at least able to bring her peace, bring her out of that nightmare. I swear when I get my hands on that rogue mutt he will suffer; I will give him a taste of his own medicine plus some. No one hurts my beautiful mate and gets away with it.

Jason POV

I was in my study going over some paperwork when one of my generals comes in.

“What do you want I am very busy.” I say in a threatening tone. I had too much work to go over and I do not have my beautiful pet here to relieve me.  

“Alpha, we got word from Shadow pack about the she-wolf you were looking for.” He begins but pauses. I can smell the fear radiating from here. I love that smell, it fuels me. But I was growing impatient. 

“And get on with it, did you find her?”

“Yes Alpha, she is there and fully rehabilitated. But…” He stutters.

“And? Out with it!” I growl angrily, this i***t is starting to get on my last nerve.

“Turns out, Alpha, that she is the new Luna of the pack. Alpha Colten and she are destined mates.” I didn’t let him finish when I let out a loud angry roar.

“Are you SURE!” I growl at him. He nods and shakes in fear. “That Fucker!” I roar. Then my door burst open and my father steps in puzzled.

“What is going on here?” He sternly asks. My General is frozen on the spot. He then grabs my general by the neck and lifts him up. “What have you told my son to upset him so much?” He commands.

“Let him go father. He is not at fault and we can’t afford to lose any more rogues.” I say taking deep breaths to calm myself down. My father drops him ad orders him to leave.

“What is going on?” My father asks.

“Just got word that my Luna is the destined mate of Alpha Colten from the Shadow pack.” I spit out.

“Shit.” He mumbled while shaking his head. “Well I am sorry son. She must be very special if the moon goddess mated a transitioned, she-wolf to an alpha.” I stare blankly out my office window. “Son, do you know if she has shifted yet?” He asks and I shake my head no. I turn to look at him in puzzlement.

“Why does it matter if she shifted or not yet. It took too long for her to shift; she must not have a wolf or its too weak.” I say as a matter of fact. Honestly, as beautiful as she was, I still do not want a weak Luna.

“Son the Lunar eclipse is tomorrow night. If she shifts for the first time on the eclipse it could mean that she was given the shadow wolf.” He says and I look at him even more confused. He sighs and continues, “The Shadow wolf is said to be a special rare wolf that has the power of shadows. In order to come into her power, she must shift on the night of the lunar eclipse. If that She-wolf has been holding back her shifting that may be the reason why.” He finishes and I lose all my control. I roar again and start smashing the coffee table next to my sectional. When it was a pile of splinter I stand up and run my hand through my hair.

“So, if she shifts tomorrow then we will know for sure if she is this special wolf.” I say out loud as my mind thinks of various ways to bring her back to me. “We may need to use my secret weapon to lure her back to me. Father I am not giving her up, if she is going t be someone’s Luna, she will be mine.” I say with an evil smirk.

“Yes son, we will get her back. She will make us stronger and we will be able to take over the kingdom.” He says in agreement.

I look back out at the window and stare at my army as they train. I am so close to achieving my goal, I just need my queen beside me. O my sweet Annabelle, my beautiful pet, I will have you in my grasp again. This time I will be the one to mark you and keep you by my side always. I already miss her intoxicating scent, her big doe emerald eyes, and that luscious body. I miss running my hand through her thick black hair and creasing her soft cheek. I will need to recondition her; she needs to be taught a lesson for leaving me and letting Colten touch her. Soon my little pet, I will have you again.
