Shadow Luna

CH.12

Annabelle POV

I felt the warm rays of the sunny touching my cheek. It seems like it was the first time I had woken up so peaceful, not dreading where I am at. I felt the tingles all along my body where I felt his skin on mine. We were still in the same position we fell asleep in tight in each other’s embrace. My hands on his bare chest. His hands and upper body cradled me while his nose was right on top of my head sniffing my scent deeply. I open my eyes and all I see is hard pecks moving up and down with every breath. I felt a sudden urge to lick, kiss, and nibble all over them. Wait! I can’t think like that, too dirty too soon. I try to gentle pull away, but I am s**t out of luck. He has me in a tight grip and our legs are intertwined under the blankets. I know he is still asleep and would hate to wake him, but my bladder was screaming at me. I gently nudged him, no response.

“Colten…Colten can you please let go of me…I have to pee.” I whisper. He groans huskily which makes me chuckle. He looks so adorable in the morning.

“Fine, come right back though, I am not ready to get out of bed.” He said muffled on the pillow.

“I will” I whisper back. He lets go of me, reaches for my pillow and cuddles with it. I jump out of bed and race to the bathroom. After washing my hands, I decide to brush my teeth. Last thing I want is morning breath. When I was done, I come back into the room and see Colten right where I left him, he hadn’t budged. I walk to the bed and lay back down next to him but facing my back towards him. I was about to doze off when I felt am arm wrap around my waist pulling back against his chest, baring his nose on the back of my neck. The burst of tingles didn’t go unnoticed.

“You took to long, I missed you.” He mumbled behind my neck. His hot breath sent a shiver down my spine. I bit my lip to suppress a moan. I felt my heart start to beat faster and my skin burn with such desire. He is driving me wild. I swallow hard and clear my throat.

“I just brushed my teeth.” Short and simple. I was having a hard time to sound as normal as I could.

“MMM… ok.” He said rubbing his nose down my neck and along my shoulder. He blew cold air right between, my sweet spot, which made me shiver with such intense pleasure. O goodness, that was… dam I can’t think.

“Colten, um…” I was breathing hard now. “What are we going to do today?” I finally managed to say and he stopped the torture. Yes torture, but good torture.

“Would you like to take a tour of our grand territory? See how our pack runs on a normal day.” He asked and I nodded.

“Yes, that sounds wonderful. I know that there is still so much to learn about your world.” I say turning to look at him and smile. “You said our pack?” I raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, you are not just my Luna, you are the packs Luna. And this is not just my world, but yours also.” He smiles at me and cups my cheek with his hand. I couldn’t help but snuggle into it loving the tingles dancing on my cheek. Why do all my reactions with him feel so instinctual?

‘It’s the bond, sweetie’ Ebony Whispers which makes me dart my eyes to meet his crystal, clear grey eyes. I saw his eyes start to glow and I felt my wolf share my vision. I felt our wolves acknowledging each other and accepting of the bond. I felt such a strong pull at my heart. This must be the bond, just not completely. I still felt a wall on my side. Our wolves retreated into our mind and I was once again great with Colten’s grey eyes.

“What was that?” I said puzzled.

“I am glade you felt that too, its our wolves accepting the bond. It means that we were meant to be.” He said with a swell of happiness. I felt glade that he was happy, his happiness is important to me. He has been so nice and caring that the least I could do was make sure he was happy. “Come, lets get ready for breakfast, you have half an hour.” I instantly hustle, get out of bed, rush to my closet to pick out simple denim shorts and a Beatles t shirt. I brush my hair and leave it loose. I site on my chair and put on my black converse and walk out of my closet. I look around and notice that Colten wasn’t finished. I decide to walk towards the window and admire the forest. Then I felt an arm wrap around my wait and a warm body hovering behind me.  

“Ready?” Colten says close to my ear.

“Yes.” I turn to face his gorgeous smile. He takes my hand and kisses my knuckles. We walk hand in hand towards the dinning hall, smiling at each other. I felt like we were just a normal couple in the blooms of our relationship.

After having another wonderful meal, I swear they have a five-star chef cooking in the back, Colten and I hopped into his Jeep and we drove around the territory. Just down the road past the hospital was a village. There were shops and cottages in various sizes. People and wolves were out and living their normal life. Then we drive further and find fields of farmland. Colten turns down a dirt road that runs along the tree line. We start to get into the thick of it until we pass another small village of homes and shops. He stops and parks the car. I look at him and he gives me a smirk. I know he is up to something.

He takes my hand and we walk up and down the village. He was explaining how their community works. Each pack member has a job to do to help the collective whole. Some have jobs in the big city with the humans where Colten owns a chain of hotels. All the money he makes goes back to the pack. Each pack member will always have a home and don’t have to pay utilities. Even the Warriors are paid well to sustain their families. I was in awe with this community, everyone worlds together, no one is really above the other. Colten told me that one of my main responsibilities as Luna would be to handle minor disputes among the pack, which was understandable. I could manage that.

 I had not realized that we had been out for hours when my tummy started to rumble making Colten chuckle. He told me that there is a perfect place down the street and escorted me there. It was a small pub that he claimed served the best fish and chips. I had to give it to him, the fish and chips were amazing. We spent our time talking about our past. I opened up about my happy childhood until that fateful day. He was so easy and nice to talk to. There was never a dull moment with him. I did notice how people around us paid great respect to Colten. You could tell that he was a great leader and very much loved. After we finished, he said that there was one more place he wanted to show me. I nod following him out and back into his Jeep. He drove us up further into the forest until we could not any further. We both got out of the car and he immediately took my hand.

“It’s a bit of a walk more, not to worry.” He smiles at me reassuringly. I trust him completely and smile. We walk for about five minutes until we come into view of a waterfall and a big pool of water. It was magnificent and breathtaking. I look up at Colten.

“Its beautiful Colten.” I say. He pulls me closer to it and I notice there was a blanket and basket on the shore. I could not believe how romantic this is, Colten did this all for me. I was feeling so much love, more than I had ever felt when I was with Greg. It seems like everything that I went through with Greg was just going through the motions fearing loneliness. I need Greg to fill the void of my loneliness, but I was never complete. Here Colten was showing me what real love feels like. Whole, complete, in the moment, an intense desire to please.

“I am happy you like it, come let’s sit and have a snack.” He escorts me to the blanket and helps me sit. As we were munching away taking in the scenery, I hear Colten clear his throat.  

“So, what do you think of the pack so far?” He asked nervously. I could hear his heartbeat faster.

“It’s amazing Colten. What you guys built here is phenomenal. I am already starting to see the appeal of this place.” I say. “I bet that’s why you have an army and tough border security.” I ask nonchalantly.

“Precisely, it is up to me, my beta, my delta, and warriors to protect our way of life here. These people need to feel safeguarded from other dangers.” He says with a determined look. I nod understanding. This way of life was so nice and simple, yet full of unexpected danger. I feel like I understand this world a lot better now.

“Thanks Colten.” I said and He furrowed his brows in a confused look. I continued, “Thank you for explaining and showing me all this. I understand this world a little better now.”

“Your very welcome. Anything I can do to ease you mind and accept this new way of life. All this is yours now.” He gave me a million-dollar smile and motioned to all the territory. I blush and nod. This is a little overwhelming gaining so many responsibilities. But I know I can do it. These people just want to live their life peacefully with their families. I can protect that.

We went back to the pack house for dinner. We sat in the same table with Sean, Angelica, and Delta Drew. They told more stories and explained a whole lot more about the pack and its history. When we were done eating Colten and I went up to our room, hand in hand, passing the staff along the way as they bow their heads in respect. I felt uncomfortable each time, not use to such submissiveness. Colten just squeezed my hand reassuringly, I guess I am going to have to get use to it. We spent a little time watching movie snuggled up on the couch until Colten nudged me.

“You ready for your first shift? Its almost time for the eclipse.” Colten asked.

“Yes, I can feel my wolf getting anxious.” I said back. Colten told me to wear a pair of cloth I don’t mind shredding and bring an extra pair with us. Colten changed into at grey t shirt and sweatpants. He escorted me outside and to a clearing out back with a few trees hiding us.

“Ok I will stay in human form until you have completely changed. We are close enough to the hospital should anything go wrong. Ok?” He said

“Ok.” I say and take a deep breath. “So how do I do this?” I ask.

“Just relax and left your wolf out. Let her take control.” He said and I nodded.

‘Ok ebony, lets get this done.’

‘Trust in me and relax, let go of the control and breath through this ok sweetie’ Ebony told me. I look up at the moon seeing it darken with a shadow.

A minute goes by and I feel this warm sensation run all over my skin, then tingling feeling on my joints. And then some cool sensation in my bones. This was not painful at all. It was pure bliss. Angelica was saying earlier that my first shift would be painful, but this was amazing. Like I was flying throw a cloud.

I open my eyes and look around. Everything looked like it was in high definition. I smelt everything for miles, I heard more sounds running along the forest. I look down and notice that I have paws. I even felt my tail wag from all the excitement.

“Bell?” I look up and see Colten standing there in awe, he was admiring me, checking me out from head to toe and back.

‘What do you think? Is my wolf ok?’ I mind link Colten.

“You are… you are… stunning. I have never seen such a dark wolf before. Its like you can blend in with the shadow.” He says still baffled.

‘Thanks, I feel light and airy. My shift felt amazing. I am surprised there was no pain at all.’ I mind link

‘Remarkable, you must be a rare wolf then.’ He mind links me. ‘Bell try to keep this information between us, but I think there is more to your wolf then we know.’ I nod my head. “Are you ready for a run?” He asks and I nod again. He takes off his cloths and I turn my head shy to see him naked. Then I heard his bones crack and a minute later I feel his tongue lick my nose. I look at him as he backs up for me to get a full look. He was beautiful. A grey Wolf with a black diamond patch on his forehead. He stood a full two feet taller than me. I walk up to him and nuzzle my head in his neck. I could feel him do the same. Then he nips at me and I back away.

‘Follow me and stay close.’ Colten says through the mind link. I nod and we start running. I pounded my paws into the dirt. I enjoyed the cold breeze blowing through my fur. This was sensational. I felt like I was one with the earth.

We ran and chased each other for two hours until our wolf gave us back control. I went behind the tree I had my spare cloths and easy shifted back. I quickly put my cloths out and walked out to find Colten. He was already in a pair of sweat but kept his shirt in his hands. I walk towards him and decide that I am going to do something completely unexpected. I decided that its time for once in my life to take a risk and take that leap of faith. Let my deepest desires come to life, even if its for a moment.

I walk right up to Colten wrap my arms around his neck, go on my tippy toes and kiss him. I let go of all rational thought and let my heart take control. This just felt so right, and I cannot resist any longer. He stiffened for a moment, and in no time wrapped his arms around my waist and kisses me back. He licks my lips for an entrance and I willingly opened my mouth for him. We explored each other’s mouth fighting for dominance, which he won. He was sliding his hands up and down my body keeping me as close to him as physically possible. I tug at his hair and rub along the back of his neck. We were both a moaning mess. We were so heated in our make out session that we didn’t notice the smell of rogues until we heard a twig snap. We boke away looking around taking a defensive position. Then a man with red eyes and a thin build came out from behind the tree. Colten stood in front of me shielding me from the man.

‘I have informed the pack, they will be here soon’ Colten said through the mind link.

“What are you doing here rogue?” Colten commanded. I see the rogue smile and look at me nodding my way.

“WE… are here for her. Our future Luna.” He said and more men step out into view and some in their wolf form. There were about 15 of them all with the same red eyes.

“She is mine! You all will die here right now for your insolence.” Colten Boomed. Then they all came charging. Colten started slashing throats as rogues dropped like flies around him. I had to fight two or three of them. It was easy because they did not want to harm me. There were two that had needles at the ready when they saw an opening. I kept fighting and dodging the needles.

Then we heard growling and several stomps when finally, our pack warriors and Drew was here to help. In minutes all the rogues where done, the ones that lived were taken to the dungeon for interrogation. Colten only had a couple of small scratches on his arms that healed in seconds. He wrapped his arms around me baring his nose on the croak of my neck. I rest my face in his chest and wrap my arms around his torso. We both inhale each other’s scent calming our wolves down.

“Are you ok my love?” Colten says behind my ear.

“Yes, I am ok, I know I am safest around you, and we are stronger together.” I say back. I felt all his muscles loosen and relax.

“Drew I want to know how the hell they manage to get past our patrol, I need this investigated asap. Sean and I are going to handle the interrogations.” Colten commands still no letting go of me.

“Yes Alpha.” Drew says and starts commanding people around.

“Come Bell, lets go back to our room and rest. I know how exhausted you must be with the day that you had.” Colten said to me letting go of me only to hold my hand. I nod and he helps me through the forest. I was walking slowly with my depleted energy. I guess Colten notice and swooped me up and carried me the rest of the way. I was not complaining, I was being treated like a princess by a Greek god. I plan on spending the rest of my life in his arms. I have accepted the bond; I have accepted him as my soul mate and love of my life. I felt Ebony dance in my head from my realization.
