CHAPTER 9 I was getting used to the morning routine—even the ungodly hour it began. This one varied slightly with extra coffee, water, and lots of aspirin before starting in with the exercises. The body seemed to show little aftereffect from last night’s drinking. He did, however, spend more time on the exercises before leaving for our run. Host clearly liked variety in his runs. This time he picked an unfamiliar park, which was not far from the hotel. The run proved much shorter—probably only a few miles. Ten times more than my previous body could have handled, but a piece of cake to this one. To compensate, he set a faster pace. The quicker run and closer park meant he wanted to get done sooner. Another beautiful day beckoned. Again, slightly warmer than the day before. I had to admit
