Mike Hudson would have been proud of me. I showed no outward reaction to the news that rocked my world. This changed everything. What the hell was I going to do now?
Using all my emotional control, and then some, I managed to speak in a normal voice, "It's none of my business, but may I ask who the father is?"
"You can ask." Then she laughed. "David. We had one last—uh—venture on Christmas."
Jesus Christ. What the heck have you done to me now?
"How are you doing with all this?" I managed to say without giving away the emotional surge I was feeling.
"You mean the throwing up?"
I smiled. "I meant the emotional. This must have been a major shock to you, given the circumstances. And with the hormones on overdrive being pregnant, I'm surprised you can hold it together so well.
