Prologue
In my own selfish quest, I had damned everything and everyone including my own flesh and blood.
My daughter was dead.
I had no-one!
How could I have not foreseen this?
"Hurts, huh?" Even in the dark ruble that was once a vibrant city, he knew that exotic voice that spoke within the gentle breeze instantly.
He paid it no attention. The only thing that mattered was his daughter. Dropping to his knees, he scooped her lifeless body into his arms.
"No! No!" He sobbed as the realization of what his selfishness had cost him.
She was cold.
He began rubbing her arms to try to warm her cold body.
"C'mon baby, wake up!" He whispered in her right ear.
The voice in the breeze once again spoke but this time in anger "You have lost everything we both cherished because you couldn't leave well enough alone! Was being set free worth it? Look around you! Nothing is left!"
He bellowed in greif and rage.
His mother was right, he f****d up everything!
He craddled his beloved child in his arms as he weeped.
"I'll make this right Nessa"
