Chapter 46 - Taking a day off.

People started to trickle out as the small gathering came to a end. Everyone was so happy to have Barion, Liam, and Izzy home. Aunt Hermia even cried when she saw her. We weren’t even gone that long.

“Should I walk you home?” I asked Daisy and I could tell she didn’t want to go home.

“It’s only nine.” She said.

“I thought you were grounded.” I replied.

“Liam’s home! They’re not going to care.” She said smiling at me.

“Oh yeah? What if they send Liam to come get you? I’m not trying to die tonight.” I said with a slight laugh.

“Then let’s run away together!” She said and smiled.

“You really want to get me killed don’t you?” I asked and she started to laugh. I stood up and waited for her to stand as well. The only person paying us any attention was Henry. I took her hand and we walked out of the dining room. We got to the stairs when Liam appeared.

“HOLD IT!” We heard him and froze. “Mom says you have to be home now. So let’s go.” Liam said walking to the door. I dropped her hand and she sighed.

“I’ll see you tomorrow?” I asked and she nodded. I watched her walk over as Liam held open the door. I sighed walking the rest of the way up to my room. I opened the door and walked in. I was happy to have my room back. I laid in bed studying the ceiling. I got up and found my pajamas. I quickly changed and got into bed. I was so tired from the trip that it didn’t take long to fall asleep.

I woke up the next morning and stretched. I had half hoped Daisy would appear in the night like she used to. I went over and got my clothes for the day out and decided to relax with a shower. I let the hot water spill over me as I relaxed. I need this after the travel to get here. After washing up, I wrapped myself in a towel and heading back to my clothes. I got dressed and headed down for breakfast. I rounded the bottom of the stairs and saw Uncle Dec and Uncle James talking.

“There you are!” Uncle Dec said with a big smile on his face. “I know you’re taking a day and I agree to it, BUT!” He raised a finger and then continued. “We have to discuss going to the college. So I want you to join the afternoon meeting with James and Henry.” Uncle Dec said slapping my back.

“Yes, I’ll be there.” I said and I walked by and into the dining room. I walked to my regular seat and sat down.

“Good morning son.” My dad said as I rubbed my face.

“Morning.” I said and my mom looked tired. “You ok mom?” I asked.

“Huh? Oh yes, we stayed up just way too late.” My mom said.

“You and Hermia stayed up late drinking wine and reminiscing.” My dad said and she laughed. Barion walked in with Lydia and Andy. They were talking and laughing as they took their seats.

“Where’s Daisy?” Barion asked looking around.

“I don’t know.” I said and he looked surprised.

“By the way people talked, it was like you spent every moment together.” Barion said.

“Not every moment.” I said and Lydia laughed.

“Almost every moment.” She said and Barion laughed. I tuned out their banter as we ate breakfast and after we were done I jumped up and headed out the door.

“What are you up to today Josh?” I heard Andy as him and Lydia walked out behind me.

“Gonna find a spot with lots of sun.” I said and Andy laughed.

“It’s supposed to start raining tomorrow, so it may be overcast today.” Andy said and I groaned.

“I have to get ready for school.” Lydia said kissing Andy’s cheek and taking off up the stairs.

“What are you doing today?” I asked him and he sighed.

“Training with my dad. How was your training with draining magic coming?” Andy asked.

“Well of course I’m good at support magics. I just need to perfect it. Doesn’t always work.” I said crossing my arms.

“Hey! Something I’m better then you at.” Andy laughed.

“Ha ha funny. Says the guys with the cool water magic and being able to see peoples mana storages.” I said.

“Come on Josh, earth magic isn’t lame. It’s a rare ability that not many people have.” Andy said and I sighed. Andy turned and saw Lydia coming down the stairs.

“Walking me to school today!?” Lydia said somewhat excited.

“Of course I will.” Andy said taking her hand.

“Bye Josh!” Lydia said as her and Andy walked to the door. I went up stairs to my room setting my alarm to get up in time for the meeting. I laid down to relax. I heard the door and looked over. Daisy was breathing heavy.

“I ran the whole way here.” She said and I started laughing.

“Why?” I said sitting up and still chuckling.

“Because!” She said walking over and into my embrace. “My mom wants to have family time tonight. She made me stay for breakfast.” She said sounding annoyed.

“Yeah Barion asked why you weren’t having breakfast with us.” I told her.

“Oh yeah? He still single?” She said and laughed. I pushed her and laid in bed. “Oh Josh I was joking.”

“Surrreeeee!” I said grabbing my phone and sat up. “You want me to call him for you? See what he’s up to today?” I asked.

“Stop! I was teasing!” She started grabbing for my phone.

“Nope! Gonna see if he’s up to hanging out with you today.” I said waving my phone around as she leaned over me trying to grab it.

“I was kidding!!” She started to laugh and I put my arm around her waist. I kissed her neck and she stopped reaching. She looked at me and kissed my lips. I pulled her into my lap as I laid kisses along her jawline. I exhaled against her neck holding her against me. She pushed back and looked at me.

“Josh I love you.” She said.
