“Where are you off to now?” I heard a sickeningly sweet voice say. I turned and saw Daisy following me.
“My room.” I said continuing to walk. The sound of foot steps behind me made me stop again. I turned and saw Daisy hot on my heels. She smiled and stood there. “Why are you following me?” I turned to face her completely.
“I can’t catch up with my old friend?” She said still smiling.
“I really don’t feel like being wrestled to the ground today.” I said turning and walking again.
“Oh Joshy, you’re just easy to put down. You don’t fight back. You just accept your fate and submit.” Daisy giggled as she followed me up the stairs.
“Are you seriously going to follow me the whole way?” I said not turning around.
“I want to catch up!” Daisy started to sound annoyed.
“What do you actually want?” I said sensing a alternative motive.
“Is your brother seeing anyone?” Daisy asked with a slight giggle.
“See, I knew you didn’t really want to catch up!” I smiled at her a fake smile and opened the door to my room. I pushed it to shut and she walked in anyways. “Ugh! No! He’s not seeing anyone.” I said walking over to my bed and laying down.
“Didn’t you have enough lazing about when you were outside?” Daisy said and I looked at her.
“This is the first time I’ve gotten to relax since I got here. Aren’t you missing your boyfriends party?” I said sarcastically.
“Very funny Josh. It’s a welcome home party mostly for your family. So in a way, you’re missing your own party.” Daisy said and I scoffed closing my eyes. I then felt the bed move. I opened my eyes and Daisy was sitting next to me, staring at me.
“What?” I asked.
“We’re catching up! What was it like in eclipse?” Daisy asked and I sat up.
“It was like here only they have more troops and stricter training.” I said.
“Did you have to train hard?” She asked and I laughed.
“Everyday I was up at three in the morning training. Now I have to turn my life into standing around a desk.” I complained and Daisy sighed.
“Do you think that’s all my dad does?” She asked with a hint of anger in her voice.
“Isn’t that what he does with uncle James?” I said and she looked upset.
“No!” She pushed me.
“Hey!” I warned her sternly thinking that would stop her.
“My dad works really hard!” She said in a angry tone.
“Ok, I’m sure your dad works very hard. I just don’t understand why they didn’t pick you or someone else to be Beta.” I said laying back down.
“Yeah like my dad really wants me to work for Henry.” Daisy started lightly poking my side.
“You know I’ve only been home a couple of days and you’re already trying to annoy me?” I said swatting her hand away.
“I can’t help it! We used to be like besties as kids.” She said and I looked at her like she was crazy.
“We were never ‘besties’. You know Andy didn’t beat me up when we were kids. That’s a best friend.” I said to her and she faked a hurt look.
“Why Joshua Greyback. I am hurt that you didn’t think we were friends.” She started to cackle a weird evil laugh.
“There’s something wrong with you mentally.” I said reaching over and pushing her. “You can go now.” I said before laying back down. She looked at me angry for real this time.
“You know I don’t remember you being this much of a d*ck.” She said and before I could answer I heard the door. Andy stood there looking at us oddly.
“Well I never expected to see this.” Andy walked over and pulled the chair by the bed sitting in it.
“I was trying to catch up with Josh but he’s being a d*ck!” Daisy said firmly angry and I laughed.
“She followed me here and has been pestering me with questions since I laid down.” I said and Daisy gasped.
“Yeah!? He said my dad had a easy boring job working for Uncle James!” She climb over and punch my arm.
“Ow! What’s wrong with you!?” I said getting upset.
“Did you really say uncle Dec’s job was easy?” Andy asked.
“Compared to my dad’s job, YES!” I said looking Daisy in the eye.
“You can’t compare my dads beta job to Uncle Lee being the KING!” She crossed her arms.
“That’s true Josh. The jobs are completely different.” Andy said with his hands folded in his lap.
“Fine, I apologize Daisy.” I said and her expression softened.
“Is your lovers spat over?” Andy chuckled.
“What! What’s wrong with you!?” I said glaring at Andy.
“Speaking of loverrrsssss! Are you hoping to mate bond with Lydia?” Daisy asked and I looked at her.
“Gross can we not?” I said and Andy laughed.
“It’s no secret. They’ve been attached at the hip since she could walk.” Daisy said.
“Yeah you better not mark my sister.” I said looking at him.
“If your sister is my mate, the first thing I’m going to do is mark her.” Andy laughed alittle harder and I shook my head.
“Joshy, we are all going to find mates sooner rather then later. Andy’s birthday is in two weeks. Mine is in a month. Yours is three months from now. You don’t think you’ll find your mate quickly?” Daisy asked and I shook my head.
“I doubt it.” I said and Daisy laughed.
“You’re right. Who would want a insensitive d*ck as a mate?” She cackled again.
“That’s not nice.” Andy said and I glared at her.
“Didn’t I ask you to leave?” I said upset.
