We walked in her front door.
“Daisy is that you?” Aunt Madison called.
“Yes mom!” Daisy pulled me to the living room and pushed me onto the couch. “Sit!” She said and I looked at her like she was crazy.
“Thank goddess your home. Your brother threw up all over me and I haven’t had the chance to shower.” Aunt Madison came in and stopped when she saw me. “Josh, what a surprise.” She smiled but was visibly uncomfortable.
“We’ll watch Riley, go get cleaned up.” Daisy said.
“Thank you, I’ll be a minute!” Aunt Madison walked off. Daisy disappeared and came back with Riley in her arms.
“Here we are!” She said putting him in the middle of the room.
“Hey buddy!” I said getting down on the ground. Daisy stood up and watched me as Riley ran into my arms. I laughed and smiled.
“I need a picture of this.” Daisy pulled out her phone.
“Stop.” I said glaring at her.
“You look genuinely happy.” Daisy said.
“I’m just playing with the child.” I said as Riley walked up putting a block in my hand. “Oooo! You wanna build stuff?” I said as Riley ran back to a pile of blocks. Daisy sat on the couch and turned the tv on as we played. We built little structures and Riley would knock it down squealing in delight. Aunt Madison eventually reappeared looking refreshed.
“I thought I heard Riley screaming.” She said watching me building blocks with him.
“Sit mom, Josh has kept him busy for a hour straight.” Daisy said and Aunt Madison slowly went and sat down.
“Always been good with kids Josh?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” I said and then I got up and sat on the couch. Riley continued to build blocks.
“It feels good to relax for once. Riley has a lot of energy. All you kids had a lot of energy.” Aunt Madison laid her head back on the couch.
“Do you want it take a nap or something?” Daisy asked her.
“And leave you kids alone for more then a moment!? Your father would not be happy. Especially with you sneaking in this morning.” Aunt Madison said. I started to get tense and feel panic rising. Daisy looked at me and laughed.
“Mom Josh hates everyone but Riley apparently. I only brought him over because his sister was being a royal b*tch to him.” She said and Aunt Madison shot up.
“Do NOT use language like that in front of Riley!” Aunt Madison looked more angry then I had ever seen her.
“I don’t hate everyone.” I said and held my arms open and Riley smiled and ran into them. I laughed and picked him up into my lap. I felt something in my hand and looked at aunt Madison putting a bottle in it. She mouth the words “nap time.” And I nodded as Riley took the bottle from me. He stuck it in his mouth and laid on me.
“Oh my goddess. Look at that!!!” Aunt Madison squealed. Now I knew where Daisy got it from. Both Daisy and Aunt Madison got out their phones and started taking pictures.
“Joshy it’s so cute!” Daisy squealed too.
“I can’t wait to send Hannah these. She’s going to flip!” Aunt Madison said as I laid back and started watching tv.
“He’s asleep!” Aunt Madison whispered.
“Should I lay him down?” I asked.
“Yes, let’s take him to his room.” My aunt said getting up. I slowly stood holding him to me and followed her up the stairs. She got to the door opening it and I walked in slowly. I leaned down and lightly place him in his bed. Riley stirred a moment and settled. We slowly backed out and she closed his door. Aunt Madison took my arm and we walked back to the living room.
“So Josh, ever think of baby sitting?” My aunt Madison asked.
“Mom I doubt it!” Daisy scoffed.
“Declan and I would love to have a date night and Riley really responds to you.” Aunt Madison said and I sat down.
“Sure.” I said and she lit up.
“I’m calling your dad right now!” Madison grabbed onto Daisy for a moment and ran into the kitchen. Daisy got up and sat next to me.
“You know you don’t have to babysit my brother.” Daisy said poking my leg.
“It’s like you said, I guess I hate everyone but him.” I leaned forward and she started rubbing my back.
“You know I didn’t mean that.” Daisy said.
“Yeah.” I said pushing her hand off me.
“Josh.” She sighed.
“Ok! Declan is excited as well! I’m going to pick out something to wear!” I couldn’t help but smile at Aunt Madison’s excitement.
“I’m going to run home and tell my mom not to expect me for dinner.” I said standing up.
“Do you want me to come too!?” Daisy got excited.
“That’s ok, I’ll be back.” I said walking to the door. Daisy followed me to the door and I looked at her. “I’m going to be right back.” I said and she smiled.
“I know.” She grabbed my shirt and pulled me into a kiss. I pushed her.
“You’re mom is here!” I said wiping my mouth. “You got lipstick on me!” I said as she laughed and started helping me wipe my lips.
“There.” She smiled.
“It’s really all gone?” I asked.
“Yes, now go so you can come back.” Daisy pushed me.
“Fine.” I said opening the door and walking back to the pack house. I opened the doors to the pack house and I saw Lydia talking to Izzy.
“Josh, there you are!” Lydia said.
“Where’s mom?” I asked walking by her.
“Josh wait.” Lydia followed me. I got to mom’s office and opened the door.
“Josh!” She smiled. “I was just finishing up for the day! Those were the cutest pictures I’ve ever seen!” My mom stood up. “Liddie?” She asked and I looked at Lydia peaking around me shyly.
“It’s ok. I just came to say I won’t be at dinner.” I said.
“Oh yes, Maddie messaged me and said you were watching Riley for them. You’re so sweet Joshy. Is my sweet Joshy coming back?” My mom came over and pinched at me cheeks.
“Mom.” I said.
“You’re babysitting?” Lydia said.
“Yes, it appears not everyone thinks I’m a jerk.” I said.
“Josh I’m sorry. I just got so upset.” Lydia said grabbing onto my arm.
“What’s going on?” My mom said looking at us.
“Nothing.” I said shaking her hand off. “I have to go.” I said walking back towards the pack house doors.
“Josh!” I heard Uncle Dec. “Heading to the house?” He said coming and patting me on the back.
“Yeah.” I said.
“I’ll walk with you.” He said smiling.
