Raven’s POV
He reached out to touch me, but I flinched away, unwilling to let his touch soothe the pain he had caused. "Please, let me explain," he pleaded, his voice filled with sincerity.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "Fine. Explain. It’s not like they will help me or you. It’s very clear you have who you want to be with. You definitely don’t care about who you hurt. So go ahead. Explain and lie to me… again.”
“But I’ve never lied to you.”
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The pain and betrayal I felt were overwhelming, clouding my judgment and drowning out his words.
How could he expect me to believe him after all that had transpired? I pulled away from him, my heart aching with a mixture of anger and sorrow.
