“Roman, Ace,” Raven said, her voice barely above a whisper. “You didn’t have to come…”
“Of course, we did,” I said, crossing the room to stand beside her bed. I took her hand in mine, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “How are you feeling?”
She shrugged, her eyes darting away. “I don’t know… I’m just… overwhelmed.”
“That’s understandable,” I said gently. “This is a lot to take in.”
Raven nodded, her fingers nervously twisting the edge of the blanket. “I didn’t even know I was pregnant… I thought I was just tired from all the training.”
