Raven’s POV
The truth was, Astra’s teasing had struck a chord. While I had convinced myself that my meetings with Brandon were purely platonic, I couldn’t deny the flutter in my heart every time I saw him.
His kindness, his laughter, the way he made me feel seen and heard—it was all so intoxicating.
This was conflicted as anytime I saw Roman. I tried to escape from his sight and hide from him.
I didn’t want him to see me at all.
Sure I missed his voice and his aura around me like a blanket but I didn’t want to do anything with him. I wanted to be away from him.
“Let’s just change the subject,” I noted as Astra agreed and we started talking about other things.
