I had spent days hiding within the palace walls, a prisoner of my own fear.
The nightmare that had haunted my sleep was still fresh in my mind, Brandon's face morphing into that of Gusto, my former mate who had cruelly rejected me.
The terror of his hands around my neck, threatening to erase my life, kept me from going out.
