Emilia’s POV
Ace was silent for a moment, his anger rising. Then he stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “We’ll figure this out, Emilia,” he said firmly. “I won’t let him get away with this.”
I looked up at him, tears welling in my eyes. “Thank you, Ace,” I whispered. “I didn’t know who else to turn to.”
“You should keep doing the things you do,” he said as I nodded. “I’ll be with you later on.”
I bowed before leaving.
This was one of those crucial times when I needed the beta.
As I got to the palace I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the man amongst other elders.
Lucian looked at me and smiled evilly, reminding me of why I was here.
