I woke up to the light streaming down on my face. I was going to turn over and go back to sleep but when I remembered what happened yesterday, I groaned and got out of bed. I walked to my closet and got dressed in a pair of fitted jeans with a T-shirt and a really thick jacket. Yes we are werewolf’s so our body temperature is a bit higher than humans, but we can still get cold. I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I stretched my body. Once I heard satisfying pops, I got out of bed and changed into a pair of jeans, a long sleeve shirt, and a jacket. After I changed, I went down-stairs and started to cook breakfast.
A few minutes later, Bryan and Tristan entered the kitchen and made themselves breakfast. They sat down at the dining table and Tristan said, “So when are you planning on heading over? Are you sure that you want to do this? Also, why haven’t you told him no, and tried to do it anyway?” “Well, first off, I couldn’t do that because mates can smell each other’s scent no matter what unless they have a certain plant. I mean I have it, but I don’t feel like lying to the person I am supposed to be with for the rest of my life in the first few days of knowing him. I am sure I want to do this, and I won’t tell him everything right off the bat either. I will tell him a little at a time and I was thinking of heading over in a little bit. After you two get dressed and cleaned up a bit. I have to put on another jacket though.” I told them.
They finally got done a few minutes later so they got up and put their dishes in the sink. “To prevent further time loss, I will do the dishes. You two go and get dressed so we can leave.” I said. They nodded their head and went to their rooms.
Moments later, they came out fully dressed and ready to go outside. “Remember, don’t run off to your mates please. That is an order, and I don’t feel like using my alpha voice. I know that it is going to be really hard to stay away from them but we kinda have to. At least for now while we search for the bastards in charge of my family’s murder. If they come to you, then you can go if we aren’t in the middle of working on the job. Alright?” I said.
No matter how much I hate to do this, these rules are set so we can get the mission done in the quickest way possible. That way we can spend as much time with our mates as we want when the mission is done. s**t, I forgot about the organization. That will have to wait until after the mission is complete. That is gonna be a b***h to take care of, but I will deal with it when the time comes like everything else.
“Alright, we get it. We’re ready to leave so let’s go.” Tristan said.
We headed out the door and went back into the woods where we were sure to meet some kind of trouble. There is always trouble in the woods. We got to the border between my territory and my mates, and I stopped there. I took one step over the border and waited for wolves to show up.
When a pack marks their territory, they can feel when someone, who is not part of their pack, goes onto the territory. It’s very useful when rouges come onto the territory cause you know where they are coming from and can help fend intruders off.
I heard them coming close, so I just stood there and waited for them to make an appearance. When they showed up, I knew my mate was with them and from the breath intake from behind me, Tristan’s was to. This is gonna be fun.
“Okay, is there a private place we can talk? I am not talking in the woods when anyone can overhear, or a rouge could pop up out of nowhere.” I asked my mate. “We can talk in my office if that’s okay with you.” He said with a small smile. I know he knows that I accepted the deal so now we just have to work out the small details.
I just nodded my head when he turned around to show us the way. We followed with the other wolves surrounding us as we traveled through the land to the pack house where his office was located. I saw multiple children running around and some pack members stopped and stared at us. I caught a whiff of a familiar scent, but since I had more important things to worry about, I decided to investigate later.
Once we arrived at the big pack house, Bryan held the door for us all. Once inside, I looked around to see that we had just walked into the living room. There were some pups running around and I noticed one was standing on the back of the couch. I felt like there was a connection. The pup was a little girl, with black hair down to her shoulders.
The little girl was playing on the back of the couch when she misplaced her foot and started to fall backwards. I stopped listening to whatever my mate was trying to explain and ran to catch the girl. I caught her just before she hit the ground and noticed that she had a kind of sweet scent. Like cake or pastries. “Are you okay?” I asked her. “Yes, thank you for catching me! Who are you?” she said. “I am Sara, what is your name?” I told her looking at her. She had blue eyes and light freckles dusted across her cheeks. “Jasmine.” She said. It looked as if she hasn’t seen her parents in a few hours.
“Okay Jasmine, maybe you should go to your parents and tell them you’re okay. They might be wondering where you are.” I told her. I remember how my parents were with me being gone for thirty minutes. That was not a good time. “I don’t have parents. I’m an orphan.” She said with a sad look on her face. I felt bad for the child. I know what it’s like to not have parents. “Well then how about this, I have to talk to your Alpha, but if you stay here until I am done, I can hang out with you for a bit. Deal?” I asked.
“Really?” she asked with a little spark in her eyes. When I saw that, I couldn’t take back what I said at all and said, “Yes really. Now play with some other pups until I get done. Okay?” She nodded. I stood and watched her run off to a group of pups on the other side of the classroom. When I see that she had started talking to them, I turned around to see that everyone from before was looking at me.
Jack and his wolves had a smile on their ace and Bryan and Tristan were looking at me with a suggestive expression. “The hell are ya staring at?” I asked. “Just you helping someone you don’t know.” Bryan said. I glared at him and said, “Let’s just go so we can get this over with.” Jack gave a little chuckle and headed towards the stairs. I followed behind everyone taking one last glance at the pup before going up the stairs.
Once we went up a few flights, we walked to the second door on the right. Jack opened the door and we all walked into the office. I closed the door behind me and locked it so no one could barge in. “Okay, so what are the fine details for the contract?” I asked out right. I wanted to get out and away from them as soon as possible.
“There are no fine details. I help you; you tell me more about yourself and we work things out.” Jack said. “I don’t believe that for a second. Nothing come for a price of ‘getting to know you’ because you always end up asking for more. Or you hold it against the person until you get what you want out of them. I know the tricks, hell I did the same f*****g thing. What the hell is it going to cost me for having you help me?” I asked with a little glare.
“I suggest that you don’t talk to your Alpha like that. He’s your mate.” A guy said. He had dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. I could tell he was the Beta of the pack. I didn’t even look at him as I said, “He isn’t my Alpha, and I will talk however I please. Him being my mate has nothing to do with it. Also in case you didn’t know; I am an Alpha too. So you can mind your own business.” He only growled in response.
“Hey, don’t growl at her.” Tristan said. He shut his mouth and looked at her. Then looked at Jack to see him looking at me. “Look, I don’t know what you’ve been through, or what you’ve done, but I only want to get to know you. Your my mate so of course I would want to. No fine lines or anything.” He said. I just nodded my head and took precaution. Let’s see how he keeps his word.
“Let’s get started then.” I said and we all sat down. “Okay, let’s introduce ourselves so we know who is who. I will start. My name is Jack, Jack Silvers. I am Alpha of Green Blood pack. Alpha” My mate said. “I am Zack Sedar. Beta of Green Blood pack. Beta” Zack had said. That was Tristan’s mate. I could tell because Tristan’s eyes haven’t left him since we walked in.
“Zane Pines. Head warrior of Green Blood. Beta” A guy with short brown hair said not looking at anyone but Bryan. So those two are mates. Wonderful. Bryan glanced at me to which I just gave a nod. “Bryan Wilkerson. I’m a rogue and Beta.” “Tristan Wilkerson. Also rogue and Beta.” She said. “Sara Davidson. Rogue. Alpha.” I said as they all looked at me.
“I thought all of you were in a pack?” Jack said. “Well look where thinking brought you. No we aren’t. I didn’t want to make one, so we just stuck together.” I said to him. I know I am being a bit rude, but why assume that? “Okay, now that names are out of the way, lets focus on what we are here for. Do you know anything on where the trail might lead?” I asked my mate.
“After you left, I had some of my men follow it. Nothing stuck out to then much. They said that there was a lot of damage to some trees but it’s not as bad as how it was before.” He said. “Before?” I said. “Yeah, about three years ago, a big fight happened. That part of our territory was almost destroyed. Sad to say, one of the two wolves that were there escaped. The other one is dead. We left the carcass there as a warning to others what can happen if you trespass, and we aren’t in a forgiving mood.” It was Zane who spoke this time.
“Three years and four months.” I said looking down. “What?” Zack had asked. I let out a sigh as I said, “Three years….and four months ago…is when that ‘fight’ happened.” I felt a hand on my arm, so I glanced and saw that it was Tristan. “They told us what they know, so how about you tell them that little bit?” Tristan suggested. I nodded my head and took a deep breath.
“Alright, you told me what you know, so let me explain a little bit. Three years and our months ago, me and my siblings were playing in the yard when we heard a scream. I left them in the backyard as I went to investigate. When I got inside and walked to my parents room. I peeked through the c***k in the door to see my mom dead while my dad was holding her. My dad spotted me and had me run away with my siblings. I wanted to stay but I did as told. I was halfway down the stairs when I heard a gunshot and knew that he had died too. In that moment of distraction, I got caught by a guy who was with them. I had gotten away and was back outside when I was tackled to the ground by a wolf. I told my siblings to run, and the wolf had two guys chase after them. When I heard two screams later, I thought knew that had died so I kicked the wolf that was on me in the balls and ran to my neighbor’s house. From there I grabbed a car, drove three hours, then went into a barn and passed out. I woke up to these two and they took me in.” I said.
The other three looked at me shocked while Tristan and Bryan looked at me with sympathy. They knew exactly what was going through my head right now. They knew I was thinking of the worst possible way I could torture the bastards that killed my family. Since they knew that, they backed away and stood still. “I am sorry you had to go through that. If you want, we can have you look at the trail yourself now?” Jack said.
“I appreciate the offer, but I would rather wait an hour or so before I begin to look.” I said. “Okay, well let me know if you have any questions. I will gladly answer them. He said. I nodded my head before thinking of Jasmine and asking, “Actually, I have a question, but it’s not related to this. How did Jasmine’s parents die?” “They died in a war just after she was born five years ago. They both lost their lives protecting the other.” Jack said. I nodded my head and stood up. “If you’ll excuse me, I have a promise to keep.” I said and walked out the door without waiting for a reply.
‘Ella, why do I feel a connection to this pup?’ I asked my wolf. ‘I think it’s a mother and pup connection. Even though she’s not ours, we feel a connection with her, so we have parental feelings towards her,’ she said. I just nodded my head and looked around when I had reached the end of the stairs. I looked to where I had last seen her, only to see that she wasn’t there. I walked over and gave a small sniff. I found her scent and followed it.
It took me outside and behind the pack house. Followed it until it led me into the woods edge. Before I took a step further, I listened to see if I could hear her or anything at all. When I heard the sound of a whimper and crying I began to get a little worried. ‘What if it’s Jasmine?! Go and look for her! I’m worried.’ my wolf said. ‘I am, but I have to be careful in case there is something else there.’ I told her as I made my way quickly and quietly into the woods following her scent.
Once I could see where she was, the sight broke my heart a bit. She was on the ground as the pups from the group she ran to beat her up. “I can’t believe you thought we were telling the truth when we said that we wanted to be your friends! Your so annoying!” one of them said. “Yeah! And you’re stupid and ugly! No one wants to hang out with you!” another said. “That’s not true! The one lady named Sara said she would hang out with me when she was done talking with Alpha Jack!” Jasmine fired back.
She was answered with a kick to her side while a boy said, “She was probably lying to you. Face it, no one wants to hang out with someone who doesn’t have parents!” I let out a growl and all the pups went still. I made my way towards Jasmine and the kids started walking backwards. I used my magic to freeze them in place as I crouched down next to Jasmine. “Are you okay? What else did they do? Where does it hurt the most?” I asked worried when I looked at how many bruises she had on her arms and legs.
“Y-you’re h-here.” She said as she looked up with tears in her eyes. “Of course. I said I would right?” I said with a small smile. I let the smile drop as I looked over at the pups responsible for the way she’s hurting right now. ‘Oh how I would love to hurt them for what they did.’ My wolf said. ‘I know Ella, but we can’t. Let’s focus on healing her for right now. Then we can deal with those bully’s.’ I told her. She let out a huff but agreed anyway.
I turned back to Jasmine and said, “Jasmine, honey, I am gonna help you heal okay? Let me know if it gets to painful so I can stop alright?” She nodded her head, so I placed my right hand on her head and my left hand over her heart. I closed my eyes and used my magic to heal her. Since she’s a werewolf, she already heals quickly. So that, combined with my healing magic I placed on her, two minutes later she was completely healed.
“Thank you!” she said as she hugged me. “Anytime.” I said as I gave her a small hug in return. I turned to the pups and frowned. “You all are in trouble.” I said as I used my magic to make them float in the air and I unfroze them. I could smell that they were scared but I didn’t care since they deserved it. “Jasmine, how long has this been going on sweetie?” I asked her.
“About a year now.” She said. I nodded, picked her up, and placed her on my hip. I started walking back the way I came and headed back towards the front of the pack house willing the floating kids to follow me. Once I had exited the woods, pack members were staring at me and the floating kids. I didn’t even make it to the front of the pack house when Jack had ran towards us. “What the hell is going on Sara?” he asked when he was right in front of me.
“Please don’t get mad at her Alpha Jack! They were hurting me, so she stepped in and helped me.” Jasmine said. I was happy that she was sticking up for me. “I was looking for her in the family room. When I didn’t find her, I followed her scent to the woods to find these brats ganged up and beating her. I didn’t harm them in any way.” I said as I put the brats down. When they were on the ground, they ran towards their parents as they were crying.
“I am happy that you stepped in but couldn’t have handle it differently?” Bryan asked me. I just gave him a look that said, ‘you’re lucky the kids aren’t hurt.’ “I guess not.” Bryan said. I set Jasmine down next to me and she just stood behind me while holding onto me. I crossed my arms as I watched Jack talk to all the parents of the kids who bullied her.
“Their parents will punish them how they see fit. I am sorry about this Jasmine; I wish I had known sooner.” Jack said apologizing to Jasmine. “It’s okay, I am just glad that Sara was there to help me.” She said and looked up at me. I gave her a small smile and whispered, “Always.” To where only she could hear. She smiled and walked with me as we all went back inside.
“So what is your favorite color?” I asked her. “Red!” She said with excitement. The next few minutes were filled with us asking each other questions just trying to get to know each other. I know her favorite movie is Mulan, loves summer, sunset, and would stay up all night and watch the stars if she could. “Hey, this is Jasmine right?” Someone said. I looked over to see that it was Tristan
“Hey Tristan, yes this is Jasmine. Jasmine, this is my sister, Tristan.” I said introducing them. Tristan gave a small smile and said, “Hello Jasmine.” “Hello.” Jasmine said. “What did you talk about?” I asked her. “What do you mean?” she asked. “What did you talk about with your mate?”
“We were just trying to get to know each other. Let me ask you, does your wolf say indecent things about your mate to you? Or am I the only one?” she asked with a bit of a red face. I gave a chuckle and said, “Well, I think all wolves do. Ella wont shut up and believe it or not, she has a dirtier mind then me.” “Well you must have fun.” She said with a laugh.
I was going to respond when I smelled the scent from earlier. But it was a bit more prominent. “Hey Tristan, can you hang with her while I go do something really quick?” I asked her. Something was telling me to follow it now before I lose it again, so I went with it. “Jasmine, I will be back in a bit okay? I have to find something.” I told her. Jasmine just nodded her head and moved next to Tristan while I stood up.
I took a small sniff and followed it towards the door. I stepped outside and looked around to see if I could see anything. Not finding anything, I slowly walked around as I followed the scent. I walked next to a few houses, a garage, and a big ass pool. I noticed that the scent was a bit fresher a few feet away, so I took off in that direction. I looked up to see that it lead to a park.
‘How the hell does all this s**t fit in these woods?’ I thought to myself. I started walking around the park to see where the scent was coming from because it was everywhere. “Sara!” someone said. When I heard their voice, I froze. My heart started beating really fast and I felt my eyes start to water. “Sara!” “Sara! Is that you!” the voice said again with another voice. I closed my eyes and slowly turned my head around to see if I was hearing things or if I really heard them. I opened my eyes to see not one, but both of my brothers at least twenty feel away from me.
A smile appeared on my face as I ran towards them. The three of us ended up tackling each other to the ground, all in a group hug with tears streaming down our faces. “Oh my god, your alive!” I said. I squeezed them and kept my eyes closed. “Sara, w-we thought y-you were-d-dead.” Christopher cried. “Yeah, w-we didn’t s-see you a-and……..” David started saying before his crying interrupted him. I just hugged them, and we stayed there on the ground.
“Umm, Chris, David, who is this?” a voice said. We let go of one another but stayed close. It appears as if we attracted some attention because there are a lot of people looking at us. I turned to whoever it was that spoke to see a guy with short black hair. He had bangs and brown eyes. He kept looking between me and Christopher like he was ready to tackle me any minute.
“It’s okay! This is my sister! The one we thought had was dead.” Christopher told the guy. “Where were you? Where have you been?" David asked. I was about to talk when someone asked me, “Alex, what the hell is going on? Who are those two?” I turned to see that it was Bryan. Beside him was Tristan, who was holding Jasmine in her arms. Their mates along with mine on either side of them.
I gave a small chuckle and said, “How about we continue this inside so we can explain everything?” I asked. They nodded their heads while my brothers just held onto me tighter. Us three stood up and followed them back to the pack house so we could talk it all out. ‘This is gonna be fun explaining all this shit.’ I thought as we walked inside.
