Prologue
Third person "Here we go again, high school.. ugh!! This better be worth it. Be a good girl Jael.. " She said closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She took in the surrounding. Students moved in noisy groups, like they've known each other forever. The school was beautiful. It had a peaceful atmosphere. She saw two girls playing. They were definitely junior students. one was running after the other one. They were happy. She remembered when she used to play with her friend. It was pure happiness. But life had other plans. Her smile faded and she groaned. She wanted to leave. She turned to bump into a wall. But this wall had buttons and a cologne. "Seriously?? Watch where you're going!" he said and she hissed. "Do you know how much this shirt costs??" he asked and she rolled her eyes. "what? A billion Naira? " she said and folded her arms. "Come on, it's just fabric with a huge price tag" she said and rolled her eyes. He was about to speak when they heard a voice beside them. "Jordan, you're needed in the Principal's office" He walked off and she sighed. "Cute but arrogant. I'm sick of the school already" she thought. Someone tapped her shoulder from behind. "Not again!!" She face palmed internally. The girl had a good amount of pimples on her face and had on a pair of big glasses. She wore a bright smile that at seemed a bit too cheerful for Jael. "Do you get paid for smiling?" Jael muttered. "what?" she asked "Just forget it" Jael said and the girl grabbed her hand. It annoyed Jael. She didn't like holding hands with people. " You're obviously new. I'm Kamsi by the way" she said as they walked. "Jael" Jael said. "Awwwn, I love your name. What does it mean?" She said. Jael scratched the back of her head. "It's uhmm... it's a.. Mountain goat" She muttered the last part. "Huh?" "Uhm, can you show me around?" Jael asked. "Oh! yeah!" She replied. "Phew.." Jael muttered. "You're in class A right?" She asked. "Yeah" "The guy you saw earlier is our classmate. He's also new. He's quite arrogant..." "Obviously.." Jael said. Kamsi went on and on till she showed her everything. "Alright, thanks for showing me around" Jael said with her brightest fake smile. "I'll see you tomorrow right?" Kamsi asked. Jael Scratched the back of her head. She didn't want to go to school the next day. "Maybe" She said and walked away. When she got outside the school, she bumped into someone again. "Oh, sorry.." She turned to see a guy standing in front of her. He wore a bright smile which Jael found it creepy. "Creep" she muttered. "Are you new?" He asked. She nodded and walked to her bike. She got on her bike and took her helmet. The guy stood amazed as two other guys joined him. "See you around" She said, wore her helmet and zoomed off. "Omohh (damn)" They chorused.
