Loving Fate

Nikki's P.O.V The night was not busy at all, in fact at the moment we had no customers and it was quite boring, but on the bright side I only had two hours left of my shift.Then I can go home, well maybe not my home but it's a roof over my head while I look. My best friend had me move in with him when I told him what happened with my parent's. My parent's thought to only just now tell me that they adopted me when I was left in a car in front of their house with a note, begging for them to take me in as their own. I didn't even mind that I was adopted, I am more hurt at the fact that they waited till I was twenty-two years old. I have been an adult for four years and they still kept it from me as if I was still a child. I am just thankful that I had good friends to cheer me up and give me a home to stay. Though I will be finding somewhere else to live very soon hopefully. Speaking of friend's, they should be here anytime now. AJ is my friend that I have had the longest, the most awesome gay best friend that a girl could ask for! Then there was also Keena, we have been friends for four years. AJ introduced me to her and at first I thought she was a b**ch, but that was just Keena. She speaks her mind I should say but is a very sweet person. They had made plans to go out to the club tonight since they were not working tomorrow. As if hearing my thoughts I hear the bell above the door jingle and hear their laugh's. I look up over the counter and see them walk in. I smiled and stood up from the table I stationed myself at making refills on condiment's for the tables. Getting a better look at them I whistled at them, AJ was wearing black dress pants and a black button down shirt, it looked like he bedazzled it. I laughed, I wouldn't have thought less if he didn't, he looked very handsome. His brown hair was done nice, gelled to the side and his brown eyes sparkled. Keena on the other hand looked absolutely gorgeous. Her blonde hair pulled into a bun with wringglets of hair hanging around her head.Her Blue Sapphire eyes had so much excitement in them and they almost matched her sparkly blue dress. She had high heals on and she was just reaching AJ's shoulder she was a little hellcat is what people like to call her. "Hey chica, do you want to come with us to the club tonight? I promise it will be fun!" AJ asked, he has been asking me for a while but I just have not wanted to get out. I thought about it for a moment " I don't think so, tomorrow is my one day off and I do not want to spend it with a hangover." I replied "Oh come on! You need to live a little." Keena spoke up. I looked over to her and smiled " Sometime soon, just not on a late notice." I tried to make it sound convincing but when I looked in her eyes I could tell that she was not buying it. "Do not try to fool me Nikki, I have known you long enough to know better." She glared. I sighed, showing that I was giving up " Okay, I promise that I will go with you guys next time, just not on short notice." I said while giving them a hug. "Okay whatever you say hun, I am just ready to have some fun tonight and severely regret it tomorrow." AJ said and we all laughed. We chatted for a little bit longer before I watched them leave and drive off in AJ's car. I hope they get lucky tonight at least. I smiled to myself and started rearranging the condiment's on the diner's tables. Making sure there was still salt and pepper on the tables also. It was time to start cleaning up the diner so I locked the doors. I was washing the tables down when Scott, our cook came bursting out of the kitchen door's yelling at the top of his lungs. "What do you mean you can't watch her? She is you're child too!"He shouted, his bright blue eyes were deep with anger, his pale face turning red. Scott is an attractive very cool and collected man, but I had never seen him angry. I watched as he hung up the phone and ran his hands through his hair then looked at me. I felt bad, he has been having problems with his daughter's mother for some time now. Their daughter's name is Melony but we call her Mel's for short, beautiful little girl, looks just like her father thankfully. "Go Scott, I will handle the clean up, don't worry." I said, giving him small smile and nodded. He looked at me with such appreciation. It made me feel good that I could do this much at least. He is a good man and does not deserve the way he has been treated by the one person that he thought he could love for the rest of his life. "Thank you so much Nikki, I owe you big time. Anything, I mean it." I nodded my head and waved my hands to shoo him away, he didn't need another sign after that, he bolted out the door to his truck and I heard him speed out the parking lot. I shook my head in disappointment. Such reckless driving. I turned and looked around the Diner at each table making sure they were stocked up on the salt and pepper shakers and the condiment's. After checking that off I sighed, It was going to be an even longer night than I expected. At least I have tomorrow off to do whatever I want. I head towards the back to see the damage and was relieved to see that it wasn't bad. I just needed to wash some dishes and mop the floor maybe touch up the grill a little better, it looked like he was in a rush. I started working on the grill, making old dark spots a little cleaner. I was finishing that up when I heard the door bell jingle and I stopped. I forgot to lock the door and I was here by myself. I took a deep breathe in and disposed of the safety glove for the grill and wiped my hand on the apron. I stood up straight and walked back to the Diner. Standing there, standing six foot three and dark black hair with a five o'clock shadow was the most attractive man I have ever seen. I felt drawn to him. I could tell that he worked out by the muscles bulging out of his black tee shirt. I tried to catch myself from drooling before I was caught but I was too late. He looked at me and smiled knowingly. When I saw his light hazel eyes it felt as if my whole world just stopped a moment. We were both looking at each other, staring into each other's eyes, then I finally spoke. " I apologize sir, but we are closed for the night." His eyes widened and he then looked from me to the door and back at me. I nodded my head" I know I forgot to lock it." I added "You know that's dangerous, right?" When he spoke I felt my body react to his voice.What the hell? How did just his voice make me cr**m my panties? And the look of anger and possession? Didn't help the way my body was reacting.This is weird, I have never had a man make me feel this way. "I know, It was an accident. It won't happen again." After I spoke the look in his eyes turned to mischief, and started walking towards me. I should be backing away but I felt no threat. I felt as if my body wanted him to come to me.Once he was just a few inches away from me he then leaned down to my ear and spoke. "I will make sure of it, little kitten." His deep voice vibrating almost made me moan out loud. When he pulled back I could have sworn that I saw lust in his eyes. I cleared my throat " Yes, so if you could come back tomorrow our hours are on the door." He looked at me up and down smiling, I swear that smile could make me cr**m alone. I shook my head to clear my thoughts when he spoke again. "If you will be the one serving me then I would come any day." He winked, I blushed. "I won't be back till Saturday." Why am I telling him this? Stranger Danger! But I just have this weird feeling from him. It was like I just bonded with him or something. "Then I will see you then." He leaned his head down once more and placed a light kiss on the corner of my lips. Woah! But I couldn't make my body react. Well, not the reaction I should of had. He then stood straight, smirking and walking to the door, he never looked back as he was no longer in sight. I shook my head vigorously, what the hell was that? That was strange. This time I made sure I locked the door. I turned still dazed about what just happened. Did a stranger really just kiss me? I rushed to do the dishes and mop the floor. I rushed back to the break room where there was our lockers. I grabbed my clothes and changed my clothes in the bathroom. Placing my uniform back in my locker I then grab my bag and key's. After locking up, I walk to my car and get in. My baby and I have been through a lot together. Had her since I was able to drive legally but it's always been in my life growing up. Thinking about it now it made since with mom and dad saying I was left in it all those years ago. I love my parent's but I am still mad at them. I make my way home finally and once I am I don't even care if there was anyone home or not. I stripped right there and walked through the house to the bathroom and got in the shower letting the hot water cascade down my back. I had no choice but to start thinking about what happened at the Diner. I don't know who he was but I felt drawn to him. That sexy smirk kept playing in my mind.It made me hot and bothered just thinking about it. All of a sudden an image of the man hovering over her, eyes were black but it wasn't scary feeling, but of lust. I shook my head of those thoughts and after finishing up with my shower, I turned off the water and wrapped my towel around my body. Getting out, I brush through my hair quickly then head back to my room. Not bothering with getting dressed, I plop face down in the bed and sleep takes me. Next morning when I wake, I stretch my limbs and moan loudly.It was almost seven in the morning and actually felt rested. Hmm things I could do today, what should it be? I reach my closet and look for my outfit. I looked for a few minutes before settling with a navy blue tee shirt and light blue jeans, I decided to wear my Converse with them. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth before going to the kitchen. I enter the living area and because it's an open area I could see Keena sitting at the Island bar sipping on a cup of coffee. I walked up to her and placed my hand on her shoulder " was it at least a good night?" When she looked up at me her expression on her face looked at it she was telling me to shut the f**k up. I laughed then reached for the pot of coffee to fix my cup the way I like. "I had a better night than AJ, that's for sure." She commented. I looked at her questioningly and then she continues " he thought he had a chance with this hot guy but when he made a move, the guy pulled back as if repulsed. You should have seen it, I wanted to punch the daylight's out of him! " I laughed because I could actually see her doing just that. I sighed, poor AJ, I couldn't wait till he found his one. With his parents not approving him being gay and him trying to be comfortable with it has got to be hard. But Keena and I are here for him. We always will be.AJ did have one relationship that was pretty serious but it all ended almost a year ago. He broke his heart by cheating on him. "Let's do something to support him soon. Something that will make him more comfortable." We both sat there and thought for a moment before she spoke up. "There was a gay bar somewhere in one of the towns over. Maybe we could convince him to go." I scrunched my nose up, I don't think he would go but there was no harm on finding out. I finished my coffee then went to put it in the sink, then I walked into the living room towards the window. The window has a seat bench in it and you could just watch everyone that are out an about. It's a decent size town here in Welch, West Virginia. Thankfully people were not all in you're business here. "So would you like to go shopping today? I promise, no going out to the club for now, but let's do something! Kenna said, bringing me back to reality. I nodded my head and laughed a little because the girl could never just stay home. " Let me just check on AJ right quick." She nodded her head. " While you do that, I am going to get ready." She replied. I didn't bother to answer and walked down the hallway to AJ's door and knocked. I didn't hear anything inside the room so I cracked the door to peek in at him. I couldn't see his face, it was somewhere buried in the bed covers with one arm hanging on the side of the bed. I smiled and closed the door back. Walking back out to the living room, Keena was already waiting. We left him a note to call us when he woke up on the fridge, then we turned to leave with key's and bags in hand. I smiled to myself when I realized that this was the first time in a while we just had some girl time. We got into my old reliable and buckled up. Pulling out of the driveway we jammed to some music on our way to the mall. Once we reach the mall I parked the car, getting out we both start giggling.
