The star

"Oh. My.God. I don't care how good it looks on film I'm not...." I slammed my dressing room door so I didn't have to hear her continue her rant. I stood in front of the floor length mirror looking at the dress that the wardrobe team had picked for me to wear in the scenes for tomorrow. It wasn't the prettiest thing but we aren't filming some high glam movie it's an action series. The dress was a deep blue and had ripped and burnt spots. The scene tomorrow is supposed to be set in the ruin of the city after it's been attacked by super natural beings. My character wasn't supposed to be a main character I was actually just supposed to have a few lines in the second episode and be done but after meeting the casting crew and word being passed around I got offered a supporting character spot. We are thankfully getting close to being done filming and I hope it doesn't get renewed for another season. And I could still hear the reason why, crying from the dressing room next door. I would say I don't know why I had agreed to film this series but that would be a lie. I had agreed because of my friend Hillary or Hilly as we call she's part of the makeup and special effects crew. She is the reason I came in for the casting call and auditioned for a minor role. She wanted me to try something different. Said I should be in front of the camera instead of just behind the type writer. I had made a name for myself with my writing. I've had more than one best selling book put me at the top of the market. I had worked very hard to get my writing out there and had heard from a lot of people that I didn't look the part which just means I didn't look like some grumpy librarian or ancient professor. Instead I was an hourglass shaped woman with tattoos, big green eyes, and dark brown hair. Plus the skin tone I got from my native father definitely added to it. No one could ever tell what I was but it was always something they wanted to ask. I could hear stuff being slammed around next door and decided that it was definitely time I get out of this dress and out of the building before the brat next door decided to come give me hell. I quickly shot Hilly a text asking her if she had already left as I shoved off the dress and put it back on the clothing rack in my room. *received* yeah girlie I'm just about to head out I'm by the parking lot want me to wait for ya *delivered* yes please *received* is she still having meltdown about her clothes *delivered* yes and I'm trying to escape before she comes for me again I quickly pulled on my normal clothes grabbed my phone and head out the door. Just as I rounded the corner towards the elevator I could hear the brat's door slam close and the high pitch of her whiney voice travel towards. In a last ditch effort to save myself I ducked into the stairway and pulled the door closed. I debated on waiting for her to get on the elevator and use it but figured by the time it got there and left I could make it down the two flights to the lobby and out the fire exit to the parking lot. *sent* hey I'm using the fire exit I quickly ran down the stairs and into the lobby. Looking across to the main entrance I debated on going that way for a second but then the elevator dinged and I hung a right to the fire exit at high speed. Just as I pushed it open the emergency lights and sirens went off. Oops. I paused for a moment and shrugged my shoulders and headed towards Hilly. " Come on let's go. I just set off the fire alarm. " "What?! Why...." Hilly's phone dings glancing down at it she starts laughing. " I didn't know they had rearmed it." I growled. "Yeah they fixed it last week after you snuck out it, to avoid Meg. Whose going to just love to hear what her client did this time." "Hey I did not break any of her rules. At least not knowingly. Come on let's go. " Meg or Megan is my manager she has been my manager for about 7 months now and is known for being great at handling difficult clients and it's not like I try to be difficult but I'm not good at doing stuff the normal way. Meg is a great manager and I love her because she is more than happy to do things the way I want as long as I follow her 5 rules. 1. No illegal substance use 2. No damaging private property 3. No going to jail 4. No causing drama and her biggest rule of all 5. I'm never allowed to know Rex in a non professional way Rex is an artist that Meg also manages and I'm a big fan. He's a singer model and actor. I had started following him in the early days when his songs weren't on any charts and she knew this and made it clear that he was a no go. Something about how the gates of hell would break open and the world would be in chaos if we met was mentioned but in truth she just thinks it would go really bad. Which she might be right but it still sucks. "Did you hear anything I just said Lexi?" "Sorry Hilly I was lost in thought." "Always in your head.So do you want to go to Justin's party with me tonight? It's in celebration of some project he just finished and I figured with filming later in the afternoon tomorrow we could go without issue." "Sure. Why not what could go wrong?" Famous last words.
