Blood Moon

1733 Words
Damon POV I hate paperwork. Way too many files to go through and solve, but I guess it’s worth it. From the moment my father passed the company and the Alpha position to me, I knew that it wouldn’t be easy. But nothing is easy in life. In the end, the results are the ones that matter. It’s what makes you proud and worthy. I put the papers down after finally finishing today. I’m tired, but the moment my eyes meet the plaque, a feeling moves through me. The plaque has a name written on it “Damon Moon,” my name. That feeling is called pride. At twenty-three, I’m the alpha of the biggest and strongest pack, and the CEO of “CMC,” which became the most prominent company, acknowledged worldwide. Originally, the company belonged to my father’s best friend, the alpha of Howlers. Unfortunately, that pack was killed ten years ago. My family had strong ties with them and rushed there when we heard about it. But sadly, we were too late. We found the Alpha and Luna decapitated in the packhouse. When I was little, I studied abroad and was only thirteen at the time, so I didn’t really know them, but my parents were in great pain. They had two girls, the older one I know got away since she sold me the company through officials five years ago. She refused to meet anyone, and that was the last time we heard of her. We don’t even know if she's still alive. Honestly, by the amount of her blood in the packhouse, I’m surprised she survived in the first place. I never got to know her, but I pity her. Nobody should have to go through that kind of pain. The younger one, though... no one knows what happened to her. My parents caught her scent in the packhouse, well her blood scent would be more appropriate, and by the amount of blood on the floor, there’s no doubt she’s dead. We never found the body, however. Such a pity how they ended up... I’m getting ready to leave the office when my beta, Jason, mind links me. 'Alpha, we have a problem.' Seriously, can’t I have a day of peace and just relax? ‘What is it, Jason?’ ‘There’s a rogue girl here that wants to see you.’ ‘What does she want?’ I ask, feeling confused as to why a rogue would want to speak to me. ‘I don’t know. The woman says she’ll only speak with you.’ ‘I don’t have the energy for this. Use your beta command on her,’ I reply, longing for my bed. ‘I tried already. It doesn’t affect her,’ he explains and sounds confused about the matter. ‘Oh? That’s interesting. Bring her in,’ I reply and sit down in my office chair again. Our territory is extensive, which is why it takes them a while to get here. After about half an hour, Jason mind-links me again to let me know they’re here. ‘A rogue girl that is powerful enough to be unaffected by a Beta command? This should be interesting,’ my wolf, Xander, says ‘I couldn’t agree more,’ I reply I exit my office and walk to the backyard where Jason brought the rogue girl. As I get closer, an intoxicating smell hits me, making me feel dizzy, but in a good way, like being on cloud nine. ‘MATE!’ I rush to the yard to find the person to whom this smell belongs. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. ‘Rogue...’ I think to myself, disappointed. ‘I know what you’re thinking, and don’t you dare reject our mate! Go to mate! Go to mate now!’ Xander demands. ‘No f*****g way! I’m an alpha, the strongest there is. I can’t have a rogue as a mate. I won’t stand for such a disgrace!’ I reply with a growl. ‘Stupid human, I’m warning you, don’t you f*****g dare!’ Xander roars back. ‘Shut up, you fuckin-,’ I begin to terminate the squabble between us when the woman stops me. “You can stop arguing with your wolf. I have no interest in you either,” she says calmly with coldness in her voice. Did she just reject me? How dare she? “Watch, your tongue rogue!” Jason growls at her. She gives him a cold glare, making him step away. What the hell? Is he actually scared of her? I can’t even sense the power in her! I get closer to her, but she doesn’t flatter from her spot. “Why are you here, rogue?” I spit with venom in my voice. “I’m looking for someone. He’s now part of your pack, which is why I came to inform you to let your pack know not to stand in my way. I'm here for one person and one person only. I don't want to have to hurt someone else just because they were in my way.” she replies calmly. “You come here looking for a member of my pack and dare to threaten us? Do you have a f*****g death wish?” I growl. She makes me angry enough that I don’t even realize I use my alpha voice until I see everyone on their knees, yet she doesn’t even flinch. She just stands there unaffected by my power, looking at me coldly, like she’s trying to keep herself calm. ‘What the hell? How isn’t she affected by my power?’ I ask Xander. ‘It seems she’s more powerful than us,’ Xander replies quietly. ‘What? How can a rogue be more powerful than an alpha? I don’t sense the power in her, let alone bigger than mine!’ I snap at him. ‘She’s masking her power.’ ‘What? We can’t mask our power. I never heard of this ability,” I reply, feeling more and more confused. ‘Apparently, she can!’ “Done?” she asks not so calmly anymore. “You’re currently on the territory of the most powerful pack. Aren’t you afraid we will kill you?” I ask with a smirk on my face, making her move closer to me. “I didn’t come here to fight with you, alpha.” “Of course not; you’ll die in a second,” I reply, but she just stares at me. Not so brave now, are we? I want to break her neck badly... if only her smell wouldn’t be this mesmerizing... damn you mate bond. I thought I closed the argument but what she tells me next leaves me speechless. “Afraid of death? I am death. I have exterminated countless packs already. I don’t kill innocents but don’t stay in my way, or I might have to change my mind,” she answers with a hint of destruction in her voice. My wolf is getting angry with her and how she talks to us. Damn, I feel enraged as hell. “You-,” she cuts me off with a hand, and that’s when I see a smile appear on her face. But not a friendly kind of smile. A smile so creepy that it sends chills down my spine. “Nevermind, I already found the person I’m looking for.” “What the hell are you tal-,” I begin to ask when another voice interrupts behind me. “Alpha, I brought the documents.” I’m about to tell him to leave when she turns around, facing Jax, a rogue I accepted into my pack a year ago. As soon as Jax sees her, his face goes pale. He drops the documents and takes a few staggering steps back before falling to the ground. His whole body is trembling, and you can clearly see the terror on his face. “What the hell? Get up!” I shout, but he remains on the ground, causing me to growl and use my alpha command on him. “Get up!” He gains his composure a little and gets up, still trembling, but a simple glare from her brings him to his knees. He’s terrified enough to look like he’ll faint anytime now or have a heart attack caused by fear. How can he be this scared of this little rogue? Why does even Jason, a beta, seem frightened of her? Why aren’t my alpha commands working on her as it does on everybody else? Who the hell is this woman? “Hello there, missed me?” she asks with a smile, an evil one. “Ah, let me guess, you joined the Blood Moon pack hoping that I wouldn’t find you here? Or maybe you were stupid enough to think they’ll be able to protect you when I come after you?” “I...I...” “I... I... what?” she asks rhetorically. “What the hell is happening here? Jax?” I ask. He doesn’t say anything. I don’t even think he can speak from all the trembling and heavy breathing. They both completely ignore me. “I’m sure you already heard the news; all your comrades are dead, all by my hand,” the woman continues, making him begin to tremble even harder, which I didn’t think was possible. “Ah, Jax, I have big plans for you.” “I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry. Please, I’ll do anything you want; I’ll be your slave. Anything, please!” The f**k? Is he offering to become a slave? Just how terrified can you be of a mere rogue to degrade yourself like that? The woman laughs at Jax’s attempts at mercy. “In a little while, you won’t beg me to spare you. You’ll pray for me to kill you, and I will. I’ll let you die in agony, doesn’t it sound perfect?” she asks with excitement. I’m about to ask her something, but Jason does before me. “Who are you?” She gets up slowly and walks toward us, staring directly at me. “Well, I’ve gotten many names from others during the years, but I guess people know me best as ‘Kill.’” “Kill? The assassin Kill?” I growl at her, but instead of cowering, she starts smirking and gets closer to me, our faces inches away. “In the flesh.”
