She didn’t know where he was taking her. Sky looked around her as the car came to a stop in front of a house. Jeremiah got out. He offered her his hand so that he could help her out. She stared at it not moving. “Come. You’re not going to like what I do to you if I have to drag you out here,” he said dropping his hand. He bunched it into a fist. His nostrils flared in anger. If he got angry it wouldn’t be good for her. Sky quickly slid over to the open door and got out of the car. Jeremiah took her hand and dragged her to the house. The front door to the house opened and a man walked out. Sky sniffed around him. The man smelled like a witch. Why would Jeremiah bring her to a witch? Was he going to let the witch put her under some spell so that she mated with the alpha? she asked herself as the man came to a stop in front of them. He smiled down at her, giving her a look that made her feel uncomfortable. “You must be the one that needs to be kept under lock and key. Your brother told me a lot about you. But he didn’t tell me how beautiful you are though,” he said leering at her. Sky cringed, stepping back from him. Jeremiah tightened his grip around her wrist to prevent her from getting away. “Gol,” Jeremiah said staring him down. “Sorry. I just got a little excited,” he said. “This way please.” “I need you to keep her here for a while. I don’t know how long my business is going to take.” Jeremiah said following him. “You assured me that she won’t escape.” “She won’t. Like I said. I’ve kept a wolf for more than twenty years. There is nothing to worry about,” the witch said walking them into the house. Sky looked around her. The house looked dirty and shabby, but she could hear voices from other rooms. He led them to an office, and then moved to bookshelf set in a corner. The was a chair in front of it. Gol picked up the chair and sat it to the side. He pulled the bookshelf open revealing a staircase that led down. “You see. She won’t escape from here,” he said pointing into the small room. “I have kept my alpha in here for a year now. He hasn’t escaped yet.” “You don’t use magic on him?” “I do. Do you want me to put a spell on her? She won’t run away ever,” Gol asked excitedly. Sky hid herself behind her brother even though Jeremiah wasn’t the worst kind of a person. But he knew him, she didn’t know how cruel the witch could be. “No. She is safe with him, right?” Jeremiah asked sounding worried for the first time in a long time. For a minutes Sky saw her brother in him. But he shook his head and shoved her to the door. “Go in. And think about what you need to do. I will be here for you soon. I hope you change your mind by then.” From the door she could see the small space and the alpha that was chained to the wall. His hair was long covering the upper part of his face, and a long beard covered the rest of his face. His body was looked too big for the rags he wore. He looked monstrous, worse of all his eyes were focused on her, like he wanted to devour her. Chills ran up down Sky’s spine causing fear to boil in her stomach. His eyes had a crazy glint that made her wonder if he was sane. God, he looked scary.     Sky turned around so fast, ready to fight her brother. But he slammed the door shut in her face. She heard the bookshelf being pulled into place. “He won’t touch her right?” she heard Jeremiah say. He sounded like he was still standing close to the bookshelf. “No. He doesn’t react to anything accept his family. He’s broken that one. Don’t worry. I’ll keep her for a few days. After tonight she won’t say no to anything.” “Alright. This is just to scare her, remember that?” “Of course. Make sure you bring me the wolf that we agreed on for this tiny favour that I am kindly doing for you,” Gol said. Sky stopped shot. Was Jeremiah selling members of their pack to this witch? Sky asked herself just as the room was plunged into darkness. She swallowed the scream that formed in her throat. No…no…no…. they need to put the light on, she thought as panic bubbled in her stomach. She thought of the wolf chained to the wall. No… They couldn’t leave her in here…with him. The silence in there was deafening. Her heart hammered in her chest as he suddenly moved and the chains scraped on the concrete floor. Sky gasped clutching her chest. She slid down the door as her knees gave out. He was coming for her. Now, she regretted her decision. She wished had agreed to be mated to Reagan, and not fight her brother so hard. She didn’t think that Jeremiah will bring her here. Sky closed her eyes tight as the chains continued to rattle. She could feel him standing not far away from her. “Mate,” he whispered in a raspy voice sending more chills up her spine. What did he just say? Sky asked looking towards him even though she couldn’t see him. No. She stood up as shock radiated through her body. No. She wasn’t his mate. She couldn’t be. Fate wouldn’t be that cruel.  The sound of him pulling the chains trying to get to her filled the silence. No. She turned around and slammed her fists on the door. “Jeremiah! Get me out of here, please,” Sky cried. She slammed her fists against the door until she was tired. She stopped breathing heavily from exhaustions. She closed her eyes, leaning her head on the door. It took her a minute to realized that the chains have stopped rattling. “Stay away from me!” she shouted sticking close to the door. The alpha said nothing. Sky stared into the darkness as if she could see where he was. But she couldn’t see. She needed her wolf to see in the dark. But she didn’t trust him enough to change around him since she had to take off her clothes. She couldn’t be naked around him. No. She felt vulnerable just thinking about it. The chains rattled again. “Stay away from me,” Sky screamed again. But all she heard was a loud sigh. She wondered what he was doing. She wished the witch her brother left her with would turn on the light so that she could keep track of the crazy werewolf who thought that she was his mate. The silence continued. Sky got tired of standing. She sat down on the first step, drawing her knees to her chest. Sky hoped that Jeremiah will come back soon, because she didn’t think she could spend another day in there…not with the alpha. She remained alert as she listened out for him. But he said nothing, and the chains didn’t rattle anymore. She wondered what was going on with him? Why was he in that room chained to a wall. But she wasn’t brave enough to ask him.
