It had been nearly a week since I discovered I was pregnant. For the most part, I was holding up well, though the morning sickness hadn’t let up. I’d become skilled at hiding it from everyone, but with our trip to Washington looming tomorrow at dawn, I knew it was time to let the truth out. If I needed help, they deserved to know why.
