CHAPTER 22

2025 Words
LUKE She has no idea what she does to me, no idea how crazy I am over her, no idea how much I love her. She means the world to me, she's the only one who's ever been able to make me feel things I never thought I'd feel. I am able to love because of her. She's amazing, she's an angel, she's perfect, perfect for me. I feel drops of water being sprinkled on my face. "Heeey!" She laughs, bending to put the bottle down then stands in front of me, smiling. It's genuine, full of love, the smile that can make any guy fall weak on his knees, the smile that can melt your heart, the smile that lights up the entire room. "What are you thinking about?" She wraps her arms around my neck, we're at the basketball gym in school, after classes. Everybody has left except us, she just finished her cheerleading rehearsal and she's still in her costumes. "Nothing." I simple reply. "You're in basketball gym alone, smiling and lost in space. That's..." She says. "What are you doing here?" I ask her. "You want me to go?" She answers with question. I don't want her to go, her presence is highly appreciated. "Never." "Well I saw your car in the parking lot. So I was wondering if the hot captain of our team could give me some lessons. Unless of course he isn't up to land a helping hand." She makes a puppy face and I smile at her stupid attempt because it's getting to me. "Or I can go and leave the Dominican Academy's Greek god to practise in peace and harmony." I can't help but laugh. "You're something else, you know that?" I mused. "So you're going to teach how to play the famous sport?" "Are you serious?" "Positive." "What's in it for me?" "Well if you teach me how to play, maybe we can...let's play." She mutters. "You can relax, there's no cameras here." I tell her. "Someone can walk in." "Chill. Let's play." We start playing, I show her how to do the basics. She messes up for a while until she gets some of the other things right then I show her how to score. I stand behind her, holding her waist, firmly, not missing the shivers that rush through her body. "You're sure I can do it?" She asks, nervously. "I know you can do it. You're doing great already." I assure her and she looks at me, smiling. She turns back, her back facing me, I lean closer to her ear, breathing against her skin. She shivers and turns her head to look at me, breathing slightly erratic. Our eyes meet, I bite my lip, her gaze drops to my lips. "Focus, baby." That comes out as a whisper and she hitches, catching her breath. She clears her throat and murmeres, "Okay." My firm touch burns her skin, she reddens, tightening her grip on the ball. "Bend your knees, arms up high, aim." I bend with her. "A little lower, lower, love, that's it." "This is harder than I thought." She chuckles. "You're doing good. You're ready?" "I'm ready." "Okay, in three...two...one. Go!" I scoop her off the ground and she shoots. She jumps up and down in joy. "I did it." She jumps on me, wrapping her arms and legs around me. "Well done." I plant a kiss on her neck. "Thank you." She runs her fingers through my hair, letting her forehead touch mine, her smile never fading. Damn, she's beautiful. One thing I love most about her, there's never a dull moment with her. "You're beautiful, you know that?" She blushes, reddening so hard. "You always say that." "Because it's true. You're beautiful, intelligent, smart and you have kind heart. I'll keep telling that until you start believing it..." "I love you, Luke." My eyes widen when she blurts out, I wasn't expecting her to confess her love for me. I need earbugs, maybe I'm hearing things, maybe it's my imagination. I need her to say it again. "What did you just say?" I slowly put her down. "I said I love you." I kiss her so deeply and so hard like my life depends on it. She kisses me back with the same passion, holding on to me for dear life, sweeping her tongue in my mouth which I gladly welcome by letting it collide with mine in a slow, sensual dance. "And I love you, Sugarplum, so much it hurts. To even think that you don't love me back. I love you very much, I'd do anything to keep you by my side, no matter what. You mean the world to me. I'm not afraid to admit it. You're my voice of reason. You're the only one who makes me feel whole, like I can overcome any s**t that comes my way. I never want to lose that, I never want to lose you." "You won't lose me, Greek god. I'm here to stay. I don't care about anything else but you, us, this. I'm not ready to lose it, I'm not ready." "We'll do it, we'll face anything together, as long as we're together, it doesn't matter right?" My forehead on hers, my hands palming her face. "Uh-huh!" "Good." She wraps her arms around my waist and I pull her into my embrace. She said it, she said it back. She loves me and I love her. This is the best day of my life. The love of my life finally confessed her love for me. She's mine, I'm hers, that's all that matters...right? That we love each other. "I got you." I mutter on top of her head, kissing it countless times, enjoying the strong feel of her arms around me. "You better." She laughs lowly through her tears. I trail my thumb under her eyes while planting a kiss on her forehead. "Is this why you came here? To tell me you love me?" I ask. "Believe it or not, I came here because I wanted to be with you, I missed you throughout the entire day. I wanted to forget about everything, then I saw your car. At first I wasn't sure I'd find you here but when I did I was relieved." "Did you forget about everything?" "No, but I felt like everything is going to be fine, as long as I have you. This might sound gross but Luke, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love me when I'm with you and that's all I ever wanted, to feel whole, free to do anything and not having to pretend that I'm happy when I'm not." God, I wish we were somewhere else and not in the school's gym. She just said all the right words, the ones sweeter than honey. She will be the death of me, I swear. Why did I do to deserve such a girl? So innocent, so beautiful, so amazing, so perfect. "When you walked in here, I was thinking about you, about us." "What about us?" She asks. "That we're a mess." "And what else?" "That we're good for each other." "Only good...?" "I mean we're perfect." "Hmm! And what else?" "And how much I want to punish you for pouring water on my face..." She reddens even more. "I think I'd like that. You know what else I'd love?" "Tell me." I command in a whisper, staring deeply in her eyes as they become darker, lust visible in her expression. "I would love to have you inside me, deep, so deep I can't take no more and ride you till we both lose our senses. After that you bend me over your table in the balcony and f**k me so hard till I can't walk straight." Oh my God! I'm going to wife her. "You're seducing me, Sugarplum?" My voice is a husky and rough whisper "Is it working?" "Oh hell yeah. And we have to go." I gather my stuff and head out with her, making our way to the parking lot. "My car or your car?" I ask. "Your car, it's big enough and I am dying to drive it. Mine is so...chick." "Alright, but you're not driving my car, never..." Her mouth automatically drops open and I laugh at her reaction then I toss her my car keys and she catches them. She runs excitedly to the driver's side and gets inside. Our drive is live, fun and we're laughing our asses out. I don't even notice how long we're driving until she stops at some quiet spot. I take a look around and flashes of the day she asked me to be her friend after our kiss come flooding my mind. I twist my lips to the side and a low chuckle escapes my lips. When I turn to look at her, she has a wide smile, the one that lights up her green eyes. So this was her plan, to bring me here. We both exit the car and stand in front it, her standing on my side. "So you remember huh?" She muses. "Of course I remember this place, you were pissed off and we made out. Best day of my life." I admit. "Best day huh? I could think of a way better day than that one." She mutters. "Go for it." "When we met, that's the one. Erika told me a bit about you in the cafeteria, I think you were passing by with your crew. First time I saw you." She tells me. "Wait, so you saw me first?" "Yes and I kind of thought you were an ass." "What? That's mean." I feign a hurt voice. "What would you have me think? The way girls were all over you just turned me off..." She admits. "...especially that...Hope." She murmers in between her teeth and I laugh. "You don't like her, do you?" "I wouldn't say I don't like her, she's just..." "You don't like her, admit it." I cut her short. "No I don't, not even a little bit." She laughs and I join her. "Come here." I lean forward to kiss her, we linger for a few seconds then pull back and I stare at her eyes. The love I see in them is almost excruciating. She tried to fight it, she tried to resist our chemistry so hard it became too much for her to bare and now she's accepted it. She accepted that she feels the same way I do, she loves me. I don't say anything and neither does she, the silence speaks for itself. Our forehead fall on each other and our eyes press shut. The only thing running through my mind is one question: How the hell are we going to do this? I'm pretty sure she's asking herself the same thing. And to be honest, I have no idea. Now that Monica knows, it's only a matter of time before our parents find out and we're both dead if they do find out. "We'll be in trouble if they find out, Luke." She mumbles "I know, Jane, I know but I can't help it. You drive me nuts." "I can't even think straight anymore. You're a drug I can't resist. You're possessing my peace of mind." "Glad I'm not the only one who's struggling." I mutter and she giggles, looking up at me. "I love you." "I know, I love you more." She leans into my solid chest and I wrap my arms around her, planting a gentle kiss on top of her head. The affection and fondness between is unbearable, I can't even begin to explain what she does to me, I've never felt this way, it's scary yet exciting. It feels so good and right. She belongs here, with me, in my arms and I'll be damned if I let anyone take her away from me. She loves me for me, she's accepted me with my flaws, knowing very well I'm complicated. I'd be a fool to take that for granted.
