After Kin left, he realized that he had done the same thing Lucas did and ran away from his problems, he hated when Lucas did it and thought of it as so childish but then he went and did it himself; he had no other excuse that he didn't have any arguments or ways to explain to Lucas that he could not accept his feelings, he needed time to think about what he said and to analyze it thoughtfully, to build up his judgment and figure out what to do about it.
Kin didn't have anywhere to stay and Leonard wasn't responding to his calls, so he went to the company and slept on the couch for the night, it was comfortable enough for him to be able to sleep until 8 am the next morning and wake up with a fresh mind, that would allow him to do his job properly.
Or at least that's what he thought, in the first two hours, before he was lost in thought and had to be wakened up by Luna, who told him he had a meeting in an hour and to stop himself from thinking about Lucas, Kin left his office and asked Luna to have coffee with him until it was time for the meeting to start. Luna, who was a bit confused on why her boss was asking her out for coffee, agreed reluctantly after she asked if Rachel could come too; Kin agreed with delight and all three of them went to a nearby coffee shop to get their drinks.
“Boss, why did you ask me out for coffee all of a sudden?” Luna asked while they were walking to the coffee, she chose.
“I just wanted to go with someone and I thought of you because I see you a lot in the office.” There wasn’t a deeper meaning for what Kin did, he simply to take his mind off Lucas and decided to do it by hanging out with his employees.
“Oh, you don’t like me do you?” Luna teased and Rachel glared at her because of that, while Kin laughed and denied the accusation and added that she wasn’t his type. “That’s mean but it begs the question, what is your type? Rachel?”
“Not really, I am more attracted to red hairs.” Kin came up with a lie to not make Rachel uncomfortable and it worked like a charm and got them talking about his type, Luna’s type, and Rachel’s type, which were different.
Kin liked red hair girls with an innocent air around them, Luna liked black-haired guys with a defined jaw, Rachel liked brown hair girls who were smart and well educated, and knew what they were talking about, that’s how she described them.
And by the time, they got to the coffee shop, Rachel just finished her presentation on why those girls are the most attractive, which both Luna and Kin didn’t pay much attention to.
When it was time for them to order, Kin was the first one to do so because he knew what he wanted, while the others took some seconds, and when it was time to pay and they got their wallets out, with tears almost falling from their eyes because this coffee meant they were going out for drinks tomorrow, but then just like a savor, Kin said: “I will pay for your drinks.” Kin said when they got to the cashier at the coffee, and Rachel and Luna didn’t mind, they liked it actually, who wouldn’t like not paying for something? And they even got to enjoy it more because the money didn’t come from their pockets.
While they were drinking their coffee on their way back to the company, Rachel asked Kin if he remembered about his promise to compensate her, Kin said he did and asked if she had decided what she wanted; Rachel nodded and said: "My girlfriend wants to be a singer and I want you to accept her into the company."
"That is not a decision I can make on my own, but tell her to come to the company tomorrow and I will see what I can do about it." Kin had to discuss that kind of decision with Leonard first and other directors in the company, to see if that would be the right decision to make or not.
"Okay, thanks." Rachel said with a smile, excited to tell her lover that she had a chance of becoming famous as she always dreamt of for years. They walked to the company together, having small talk between each other and getting to know one another a little better; everything was going well until Kin's phone started ringing and didn't stop for the next two minutes.
"You should probably check that." Luna said and pointed at Kin's phone, which was in his front pocket, he nodded and excused himself; while Luna and Rachel walked into the company, into the elevator, he stayed at the lobby, to read Lucas's ninety-three messages.
Ninety messages were Lucas explaining what he felt and his emotions and the last eight were him apologizing for his outburst, and the last message was: “It was never my intention to scare you away, I never intended for my feelings to come out in that way I apologize for my behavior and I hope you could forgive me for loving you, I will try to stop but please come back home, please.”
Kin didn't have time to read through all of them with concentration, the last one was the one he read and thought about, he decided to write back and tell Lucas to meet him in the forest on the west side of the city, tomorrow morning, at 7 am, where he found him before, so they could talk comfortably. After sending the message, he put his phone back in his pocket and walked to the elevator, and by the time, the elevator came, Lucas already replied and said yes to his suggestion.
And with that, Kin entered the meeting with a clear mind and was able to focus on the meeting, and even at the end of the day, he didn't feel as tired as he thought he would, so he decided to sleep in the company and work extra, and not go and book a hotel room, to have some free time tomorrow and come a bit late; maybe even skip the morning, he didn't have anything important tomorrow other than meeting Rachel's girlfriend, which was at 11 am, which meant he could do his work now and spend his entire morning with Lucas tomorrow.
It was 2 am when Kin was finally with the work he had for tomorrow; he put down everything and went to the couch and lay there, after taking off his shoes and his suit jacket, he had no willpower to wear his pajama and just put his blanket on him, and after he set his arm for 6:30 am, he closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep, before he could even think about what to say to Lucas tomorrow as he planned on doing.
Unlike him, who had no problem sleeping, Lucas was struggling to close his eyes and not think about Kin and what would happen tomorrow; he had been trying to sleep for two hours; because the next day was such an important event, he decided to finish work early and go to bed, but that plan didn't work. He had been laying on his bed since 10 pm and he couldn't sleep a wink, he tried and tried again, all the methods he could think of but nothing worked.
And because of that, his thoughts were running loose and he started thinking about his future as someone who was possibly gay; he might not end up with Kin, that a very possible outcome, but what about after that? If Kin doesn't date him, will he automatically stop liking him or start liking other people? Will he start liking girls or boys? How can he know if this was a one-time thing or if he was gay? He had no one to answer his questions and he ended up sleeping before he could come with an answer to his questions.
Maybe it was his nervousness or his lack of vision, or maybe his bad luck, but when Lucas was driving to the location he and Kin agreed on; he stopped at a red light and waited for it patiently for it to turn green, and when it finally did, he sped up and didn’t look right or left, he just went for it and a cat hit him on the side, sending him two meters away from where he originally was; his windows were shattered and his front door was destroyed.
Because of the impact, Lucas was injured and lost consciousness, before he could even process what happened to him.
